Frontalot has never been my thing really, went to go see him at PAX the other year and just didn't enjoy it. I wish the Protomen would come back to PAX Aus, because they were so sick to see.
Also yeah my personal Dalaran port is the Shrine because Stormshield is lacking.

Just seemed an odd choice, like Blink 182 before, until I read:
The Grammy Award–winning rock band—and the biggest band on Facebook, with 63 million fans and counting—will be taking the stage the evening of Saturday, November 7, to provide an epic send-off for everyone at this year’s convention.
Ah, that's why then.
And yeah Ozzy already played back in...2008 I think? 2010? Some years back anyway.
Ozzy in 2009 to me was a thing of awe
Because he came out doing his usual act of the time trying to warm the crowd up and they were still sitting down
That was one of Zakk Wylde's last shows and yet they were still sitting down
I really did get up to go play with a worgen again during crazy train
I was just looking through the list of artists that've played blizzcon, and man. Ozzy Osbourne played it in 2009? I kinda feel like offspring in 2005 were their best get, because at least they were still remotely relevant then (I think.)
hold your head high soldier, it ain't over yet
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
Looks like Valor in 6.2.3 is only going to come from LFD, LFR, Mythic Dungeons, and the weekly holiday quest as they want it to be a carrot to entice people to do content they're not already doing.
Oh goodie, the wastes of time that give me nothing substantial for where I'm currently progressing. Weekly and Mythic dungeons maybe, but not the rest.
This time there is no weekly cap to Valor, beyond the limits of running out of things to give you more points. So their goal of not forcing raiders to run LFR is a dismal failure, because LFR is worth over 1000 points of Valour per week. The LFD bonus is still 1 per day instead of 7 per week though.

That's literally the entire point of Valor. I don't get why you're so surprised.

Just as I was starting a Tanaan daily objective today, an Alliance player stole a destroyable quest item while I was fighting the mobs nearby to clear it to kill it myself. Opportunistic goose. But he didn't have flying, so I spent the remainder of my time doing that objective flying around above him, stealing everything he tried to get. Normally I try not to abuse the advantages that flight gives you when doing dailies, but in this case, I made an exception for this goose.
How is that any different from the previous incarnation of Valor? It made content you wouldn't be doing normally relevant.
No, raid bosses used to give Valor as well.
I only collected Valor on purpose when I was gearing up. Otherwise I didn't bother to cap each week because it was just another chore each and every week, which is probably the way it's going to be for me now.

Also, I'm 100% expecting a Valor cap by the time we hit Blizzcon. Some crazy person with too much time on their hands will exploit it and people's minds will explode.

You can't really complain about something to entice people to do these kinds of content. That is pretty much 100% what everyone was asking for. People said there was zero reason to do it, now that is false. Why complain that the reason to do it actually makes you need to do it? If it did not, then it literally wasn't doing it's job.
Besides, if it bothers you that much, I think everyone has been getting by fine without these extra ilvls. The ilvl gained from upgrades will be nothing more than a crutch anyway.
It's what, +ten item levels max on a item? Nice, but not gamebreaking. Also nice that I actually have something to do that can give me upgrades on nights that aren't raid night.

I mean, I could go off on a diatribe about how they should have added another raid tier to keep people playing, but we've beaten that horse to a pulp by now.

I'm not complaining about Valor, I'm complaining how there's not going to be any coming from raiding when previously you did get Valor from raid bosses.

If they came from raiding, you would have the same issue you have now (no one doing dungeons). At that point, you might as well not have bothered adding valor.
Why does raiding need even more incentive to... raid.
Mostly it seems that valor sources will either come from solo content, or content that is assisted by matchmaking services. Both of which I'm fine with. Tying it to raiding, at a point in the expansions timeline where, historically, burnout is rampant and raid groups are constantly going on hiatus, would be a really weird choice. It'd be one thing if this was earlier in the expansion, but given where we're at right now, the decision makes sense.

Because it doesn't take all that long to get all the gear you can possibly get for your current progression. Especially if you're in a guild still trying to make the jump to Mythic. There is literally one more piece of gear I absolutely need from Heroic HFC. I've spent several months trying to get this one thing, running three nights a week to full clear Heroic and then do Mythic, where I have just about all the gear I could want since we've been farming Kormrok for a while.
So I'm basically only able to get an upgrade from one fight in Mythic currently and the guild only JUST downed it last week. Other than that, I'm in Heroic full clearing the other two nights because I don't know why tbh it's mostly turned into an alt run for the lower half. That's what burns raiders out is when they literally cannot advance any further and keep running the same stuff repeatedly while knowing there's no point or reward for doing so. A bit of Valor would help that, I used to be able to get a couple hundred full clearing a raid, not nearly enough to cap but a decent number.
Well I got 100 badges easily last night so I'll be getting that mount pretty soon. The bonus rewards for queuing as a tank are really overly strong. perfectly fine and should be left as is
Call to Arms doesn't show up overly often anyway in my experience, though maybe it's the time of day.

What? It's massively gamebreaking. It's nearly the difference between a heroic raider and a mythic raider in character power. Each ilvl roughly corresponds to 1% of player power. To bring up every slot you have by 10 ilvls? 10% boost in power.
Our guild is considering spending our one raid night on guild-organised mythic dungeon spam to get everyone tons of valor after patch drops, because using those upgrades will mean more ilvl increase than any loot we might get for a half-dozen people from heroic Hellfire
The raid content will be a joke. We already blitz everything except heroic Archimonde. With 10 more ilvls average on every single raider? It'll be stupidly easy.

And what about people like me whos preferred playstyle is to do organized Raiding? Why did you ignore the one question that's plastered all over this thread: why does Normal/Heroic/Mythic HFC not reward Valor?
The focus of the patch is on dungeon content. Raid Finder was included as a source to add a few more options for Group Finder queuing, and if getting a few well-geared tanks and healers to hop back into Raid Finder improves queues a bit for the core Raid Finder audience, that's not the worst thing in the world. But if you hate Raid Finder, there are literally thousands of Valor available weekly without setting foot in Raid Finder.
Part of the point is to provide a reason to revisit content that you may not have had much reason to do in a while, rather than just providing an extra reward for continuing your existing routine.

I mean, it was probably already set to the sounds of Linkin Park.

Hell, they could probably convince Ozzy to play (or did he do that already?).
I can't help but feel that Blizzard signed some sort of contract with Warner Bros. Music for X years and this is what they are stuck with.

Metallica was definitely at last year's Blizzcon. Were they at an earlier one too?

So remind me again, why did they remove raid sets and trinkets from LFR?
