Have Bungie ever acknowledged all the lag problems that seem to plague quite a few of the recent Iron Banner Events? I want that Warlock helmet, I just dont know if I want it that much.
The actions you described in the latter part of your post—leaving the playlist activity to do other things as a roundabout way of breaking up your party with the random guy—is the precise reason why the streak rewards staying with the group it puts you in. As disconnecting can be done intentionally for the same reason, it's handled thusly too.
Most of my problems with doing strikes with randoms would be fixed if the game could find a missing 3rd in less than 15 minutes, which recent experiences indicate that it is not able to.
The vanguard buff is nice. Definitely feels like there's no reason to do heroic after the first 3 if you're just going for engrams; the 36 drops tons just as well as heroics.
Problem for me was non-heroic just doesn't have enough elites to get 7 orb fists with, in normal play, so wasn't helpful for that.
Just had a weird crash of the game when loading into the Tower. Never had that before. suggested actions for the error said to update the game; but it's updated. :rotate:
I wish the game would grant you light for the level of light gear you have instead of the level currently equipped.
I know, I know, that'd fuck things up, and make Y1 stuff too good; I'm just lazy and get tired of changing out all of my gear before decrypting.
Question though: can you use, say, titan armor to level up the light of Hunter gear? I.E. if I have a 95 titan gloves and want to use it on a 90 hunter gloves, will it work; or does it have to be the correct class?
EDIT: woo dead orbit level 25 rank up gave me a ship! How many "foes" need to be slain for that quest?

Can be different classes. My Hunter went from 250 light at level 40 to now being 280 something, thanks to excess Warlock gear I've been banking.
Now I need to decide if I want to keep doing Dead orbit on my Titan after I finish the quest and get the exotic mark; or just level up the mark and switch to FWC/NM to start working on their rep and wait until I switch to DO on my hunter/warlock to maybe get those last two ships I haven't gotten (got all emblems and shaders from them).
I don't think the cloak drops from the base version of Dust Palace that I can go into through Mars.
I know they drop from the normal lvl 20 strike playlist at least.

No, the lvl 20 strikelist is all the old strikes. I've seen the Tanik cloak drop in there, and some of the other strikes that drop gear are only in the 20 list or not at all (looking at you Omnigul.)

As drops? Probably not.
If you do level 1 and others for rep and get level 2 runes from rank up packages from Eris? Think I got most of my stolen runes from that.
It didn't, obviously.
But it did drop me The Nowhere and Bittersteel shaders. So full set of dead orbit shaders now. Score!
It also puts me 1 rank shy of hitting rank 25 for the exotic cloak quest, so that's not bad really.
In my experience, not really.
I mean in a roundabout way. Eris weekly bounties and faction ranking up seem to give a lot; so doing level 1 runes will get you there.
Also weekly heroics/nightfalls.

Pro-tip, if you dont have any Dead Orbit class items or emblems, you might want to get them in advance.

Same here. I've gotten 5 rank ups with Dead Orbit so far since TTK.
And every single one of those five rank up packages has been a fucking Ceres rocket launcher.

Just choose it from the director and do it over and over. They can drop on any version of the strike.
Really? I figured it wouldn't drop from it if I selected it from Mars directly since it would technically not be a taken king version.

I think killing the appropriate colored Psion last drops the same color cloak. I got the red one from killing the red one last.

Yep, supposedly whichever one you kill last is the cloak that has a chance of dropping.
Edit- Myself, I want the Taniks cloak for my hunter. "Taniks....has no closet...organizes no clothes....very dirty...yes?
My brother got a cloak from the first one he killed. He didn't even finish the entire fight and it dropped.
