You know, what the hell even IS a "Nightfall level reward"? Is there even a point to this mindless bullshit? Or can I go do something a little less full of tryhards now?
nightfall level reward is just a near-guaranteed legendary (sometimes 7 strange coins cause lol fuck you) with a semi-decent chance at an exotic for your class.

"Meh". I'll quit torturing myself then. Got more coins than I know what to do with from just wandering around, and only really want a Telesto. Can iPod everything else I want. Thanks.
Hopped into @AngrySquirrel 's Daily Story match right in time to kill the boss for him. After some patrolling, I offered to do the Daily Crucible with him.
A couple hours later...
-Completed the TLW step of Chaperone quest (!!)
-Completed the Arc Grenade step of the Blancer Crucible questline (tougher now that they nerfed the shit out of Arcbolts)
-Making big progress on the Shaxx Crucible questline (actually deigned to play Salvage the required amount)
-Good times had
To anyone still struggling on the TLW step who considers themselves "just ok" at Crucible as I usually do, the protips are:
-Use the Subclass with the best Super for your class (Blancer, Hammer Bro, ... probably Stormcaller?)
-Don't equip TLW at all until you're gonna use Super or heavy, or when you're about to win the match
-DO equip TLW if you're on fire with your shotgun or (importantly) if you have 3 kills or so. The boost at 5 kills is NOT something you want to miss
-Rift and control are good gametypes. Mayhem is dangerous because you'll be unavoidably killed PLENTY of times. In normal gametypes, your super won't automatically be answered with a Super.
I cannot think of a single scenario in which the reload time on the raid cannon is tolerable by any normal human being who has, like, a job. I've got shit to do, I can't afford to sit here and wait on this animation.
This was my feeling about the ADS delay on the Simulant.
Maybe if I tape down L2 I can go and make a cup of tea and it'll be ready about the same time as the Simulant finishes aiming...
Is there any damn rhyme or reason why some items, despite being maxed out and all perks paid for and unlocked still show up in the vault without a yellow border?
Whatever. Everyone will cheese the Warsat for this and the rest of the strike will be not a huge deal, the shank boss doesn't have a shield, so pew pew pew with some arc and get your loot.
Or maybe it's like the last few Iron Banners, that it hits 8 hours after the weekly reset?
Not just IB's; the weekly pvp playlists haven't gone up for several hours after the reset since TTK (i have no idea if there was a weekly playlist prior to TTK, I never paid attention).
Anyway, I'm gonna be up awhile longer looks like, if anyone is doing nightfalls, I'm up for 1-3.
My Stormcaller with arc fusion rifle and sword was made for this nightfall.
Yesterday was probably one of the most productive days in Destiny for me in a long time. I managed to a) complete the five elimination wins for the shaxx quest line, b) finish the first day of the Sleeper Simulants quest line, including getting 3 of my 4 triggered public events to be warsats, and c) took myself from 14 (?) calcified fragments to 45, farming up ~60 or so hadium flakes in the process.
Couple of strikes today should net me ToM and SS. Not bad for a days work.

Soloing fears embrace for the ToM because I'm a lunatic. If anyone else on xbone wants in, hit me up!
Edit: done. Not fun solo. Do not recommend. Took a few tries, but the sleeper let's you end it fairly quickly.
Patch is required though, god knows when that's going to happen,
• While playing, Characters will automatically receive the buff "Tempered". This buff will cause Reputation gains to increase each day through the end of the event.
That's nice - seeing as how I am constantly Mote of Light poor nowadays.
Arc burn S.A.B.R.E strike with match game, exposure and catapult.
... with Arc streams, wire rifles, and sniper shanks?
Yeah, no thx m8.
The stream is going to be the worst part by far
It's.totally possible to burn down the boss before the snipers even spawn.
Zhalo has the potential to make everything else pretty easy too.
But that stupid arc stream section...
Does the simulant let you hit things twice? like hitting this bosses weak node, with the beam then passing through the rest of him? Or does it work with going through, then bouncing back up through if you fire from above?
Got a chance to get into the raid last night for the first time. Dropped in while the group was banging it's head against Golgoroth. After about 3 or 4 attempts we got him down and I got some 304 arms for my Titan. Sitting at 297 light now!
Side note: Sleeper Simulant with WoL on his chest can crit for 125k. Pretty nuts.
Managed to get my 46th fragment last night off Kagoor. He is definitely the easiest of the t3 bosses if you're at high enough light. Me and two randos dropped him twice inside like 30 seconds each time. Now I just need to find the one in the Turtle Bros strike and I've Caught 'Em All. Whee. At least until the last 3 are found/released.
Also, I really love the Frontier map for Rift. That center channel on the bridge is just brutal and I love it. Both teams really have to be on top of their game (or really sucking) for anyone to even grab the ball. It's an okay map on Control, too. And I finally got to see Timekeeper (I think that's the name of the previously-PS4-exclusive map). Seemed cool.

Not a satisfying end to the week.
Screw it, going to bed.

(Simulant still a beast)
It's driving me nuts.

Better hope you don't get Fallen or Hive for the Warsat!
This is such a bullshit modifier.
Particularly in a burn.

Iron Banner will start at 9am utc now according to Bungie:

Like Trials. Use grenades->swap to voidfang->get charged->swap to [preferred exotic].
Two: do claas items/shaders, etc. still matter for rep? Doubt I'll rock the old class item considering the light level penalty.
Trials is on from Friday through to weekly reset.
Iron Banner should be today, but we're waiting on the patch.
Given that Bungie are taking Destiny offline for two hours from 4pm UTC I'm guessing it won't be live until after.
Isnt it 11AM+, almost 12AM now? I dont see any Iron Banner.
PST, Bungie is in Washington state.
It's 11:43 UTC right now, in PST it's meant to go live at 2am. But like I said:
We need the patch.

It's not in the Turtle Bros strike. You get it for doing a Nightfall on the Dreadnought. So Darkblade first week, or Turtle Bros last week.
Edit: Or maybe you mean the one hidden in that area with the colossus after the ship. If so, nevermind.
There is a fragment in the Shield Brothers strike. The last combat room before the brothers themselves
EDIT: saw you edited and now my comment is stupid.
