The 2015 [MLB] Offseason is Off and Poppin'

Welcome to the 2015 MLB Playoffs! They start on Tuesday. Houston goes to New York to play for the right to challenge the Royals, the defending AL Champions. On Wednesday, the Cubs send Jake Arrieta to the mound against Gerrit Cole in Pittsburgh, which should be one hell of a pitcher's duel. The winner gets to play the Cardinals, who are just the worst.

The other first round matchups are the Rangers and Blue Jays, two teams that kind of exploded in the second half, and the Mets and Dodgers. Hopefully we get to see Bartolo Colon pitch, is all I'm saying.

Why do the Cubs have to be playing the Pirates? I want them both to win.

The only consolation I've got there is that if the Cubs lose that game, Aramis Ramirez will still be playing

    Fuck the Cardinals!

Also, go Rangers, I guess. Making the playoffs this year feels completely bizarre and I'm pretty sure we're getting swept, but hey more Elvis and Beltre and Prince is always nice.

If you'd asked me at the start of the season, I'd just be happy the Jays made it.

Not anymore. World Series or the whole thing was a colossal failure!

I'd obviously rather have the Cubs pull it off, but I'd be happy with the Pirates or the Blue Jays, and I'd grudgingly accept anyone but the Cardinals

I voted Cardinals because hooray cardinals, but Toronto is probably who i would actually pick to win it all. The fact that the cardinls got here at all with all the injuries is good enough for me.

They should have fired him a week ago and just let the team figure out how to make it through the last few meaningless games without anyone in charge. Just like they did all season, but without an actual physical presence.

Yankees aren't going to have Sabathia for the playoffs. He checked himself into rehab for alcoholism.

Absolutely. He was pitching pretty decent to end the season too. Yankees are going to miss him if they manage to win tomorrow

    Yes.
Manager of the Year to fired in one season.

That shows how useless the Manager of the Year award is more than anything.

Yeah so, everybody pick the wild card games.

    Pirates (1) vs Cubs (2)

    Yankees (1) vs Astros (2)

Wild card picks due before the AL game starts tomorrow. If anybody doesn't remember how this works, you can look at the spreadsheet or ask someone else because I won't be back until later tonight.
