Hammer bros are so hilariously broken in PvP.

So a Gunslinger gets 3 shots of golden gun, no damage reduction and they have to hit their opponent dead on.

Hammer bros get damage reduction, their hammers have aoe damage and (thanks to Cauterize) when they kill someone they regen health.

How did that get through internal testing?

Looking forward to running my Titan once my Hunter hits rank 5.

Early K/D stats from Iron Banner have Gunslingers edging out Sunbreakers on K/D very slightly, but there isn't enough info yet to really talk about why.

In my experience, they are two flavors of bullshit. Hammers are more annoying because you really can't fight back without suppression abilities, but Golden Gun is more lethal because if the Hunter sees you, you die (unless you are mid-super as a Sunbreaker).

I think sunbros, gunbros, and lightningbros need to have their supers weakened in PvP a bit, maybe with other stuff added to their kit if necessary. Dying to any of those 3 supers isn't fun, since your options for fighting back are "have a better super available to use immediately" "run away" or "die."

Gun bros are no where near the level of bs as sun bros or lightnight bros, the closest analogue there is blade dancer, but blade dancer doesn't get a good ranged attack like lightning and sun (the little shock wave eats your super bar and can be jumped).

Well " bullshit" isn't really a trackable stat. When I looked earlier, Gunslingers were best K/D with Sunbreakers slightly behind slingers. Unlikely that changed much, but its only been like a day of Man Bruce, so who knows.

Dying to either super isn't much fun.

True but dying to a gunslinger super is like a one time thing, where as with a sun bro on a small map you might die to the same guy multiple times.

Dying twice to the same super is throw your controller infuriating

I've had it happen with Stormtrance on small maps too

Yeah me too, but I've never been gunslingered twice by the same duder. But the hunter bullshit super is blade dancers, we are the liam neeson of supers. We will find you, and we will murder you.

Actually most hunters don't even use blade dancer, I assume for the same reason I'm not, still working on the gun slinger pvp quests...

I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

It really depends on the game type, I think. Situations like control, which happens to be IB, where you often have many people in the same place at the same time, mean that Sunbreakers perks outside of the hammer aren't terribly useful.

But other types; rift (kinda), skirmish, rumble, clash...where you're gonna see a lot more 1v1 or 1v2 action; I find myself using the "grenade/fist recharge twice as fast with super" perk more than hammer for kills. Combined with the fist perk to recharge on a kill, I can spec discipline, str, get my super up, and have damn near unlimited grenades and face punches.

Sure, it's no "grenade kills refill melee, melee kills refill grenade; instantly" like stormcallers have; but it's close, and provides a lot more versatility compared to popping hammer, taking out who you're facing then running around like an idiot hoping to find another person to hammer before it wears.

I still think Stormcallers are far and away the most overpowered right now. Palpatine does a shit ton of damage, continually, to everyone nearby, at an unreasonably long range, and lasts easily twice as long as it really should, were it balanced. Yes, defense while lightening isn't as high as maybe some other powers, but for hammers you can get out of the way, make a guy waste tosses; even if you ultimately bite it. Stormcaller doesn't even have to aim, just pushes the button and anything nearby automatically dies; cover, corners, whatever, be damned. There is zero protection from it. EDIT: also, gathering storm lets stormcallers get a super 2-3x faster than anyone else, and 2-3x earlier than anyone else, meaning they can, and will, be up in your shit before any other class/subclass can possibly have a super ready to counter it.

3-3 on the night so far. Within statistical expectations... but I only solo so hypothetically I should see matches like this all the time.

The other thing you guys have to consider is your that preformed groups seem to be aggregate skill level matched. It throws it off. I guess I should feel honored that the game thinks that 5-6 people are worth one me*? ha... ha.

edit: what usually happens is there's one or two flavor-hyper-meta-geared guy that does all the heavy lifting for their team and then it's just bleh.

It's actually closer to 1.3 and 0.7, I was wrong earlier, but yes.

Again, my very simple point is that minimizing your deaths is important, and your own personal KDR does matter, because that is how much you are contributing to the score of both teams.

You don't need to be super pro MLG 360 noscope 3.0 KDR

But you should be trying to minimize your deaths, even potentially if it means losing out on some kills.

Well, I just meant this week. They didn't ban people abusing the Sunbreaker hammer glitch, did they? It is possible that this isn't something they can hotfix, so it could stick around for trials. Also, I forgot to mention that this glitch leaves the hunter will full super, so can be used every trial round. :(

What class do you play? You don't need to kill the Echo, just the wizard that spawns, so it's not as bad as it seems. Defender and Sunsinger have a pretty okay time with it. Hunter might be tougher.

It's not my fault we get paired with Americans when I'm in a fireteam full of people based in America...

    oh. wait.

In all seriousness, considering your frequent NAT issues, have you ever tried implementing Bungie's recommended port-forwarding for Destiny? If not, I imagine doing so could at least make it so communications are a bit more consistent, if not gameplay as well.

I just did, makes little to no difference. I connect to the network a little bit faster but that's about it. Still red bar-ing it hard.

Think there might just be some network shenanigans going on with me today. Did have a router just decide to not work earlier while helping @UnDom with the exotic sword strike.

Edit: Also, in terms of NAT issues, I don't think they're actually 'NAT' issues, it's just PSN assuming that's what the problem is. More likely it's just spreading my connection too thin.

Just created an Iron Banner PS Party for the PS4 Pax Arcadia Community. You'll find it (I think?) on the bottom of the Parties list. I know a bunch of you are in Parties already, but I wanted to make a Community one in case some of our newer members (who may not have many PA friends yet!) want to join in and don't know where to go.

This will be a common sight all week long and should (I hope) be a good way to just find PAers with whom to Iron Banner.

Unfortunately at a certain point, there's no reason to stay in a losing hand of IB

I have five coins already so if a game is going real bad, I'm just wasting time sticking around

People who quit as soon as their team falls a little bit behind at the very start of the game exacerbate the problem. Since the shorthanded team will just continue to do worse until there's no coming back.

That's.... Actually better than Perpetual Charge. The last numbers I saw on Sunbreaker melee would let it be a 1-hit kill with the right perks. Thermal Vent, I believe, for 201 damage on a Sunstrike when including DoT. (188 base damage DoT inclusive.) I will cheerfully take a 1-hit melee kill every ~25 seconds (300str) over "I get my grenade back if I pick off someone who's already hurt" or "I get my melee back if I grenade someone who's already hurt".

... Actually, I'm just going to link this, because there's a lot of gifs, and the numbers are just mindboggling. https://www.reddit.com/r/CruciblePlaybook/comments/3nl3ep/complete_guide_tonumbers_behind_the_sunbreaker/

Holy jesus you can AE punch people and it looks like they all get the 1-hit kill. What the fuck.

Perpetual Charge is not a very good Crucible perk, you're far better off running Electrostatic Mind most times, though Arc Web definitely has its uses

IB in TTK feels like I'm playing matches surrounded by killstealing vacuum cleaners that shoot lightning and fire.

I'm not sure if I'm going to participate in the full week. It's so obnoxious. :|
