The way I see it, going through the lag issues makes the moment of killing the sisters all the sweeter an experience.
My poor Hunter is just about to hit 40 and what the hell is she going to do without her Y1 MIDA Multi-tool!?
You know that low-level Hunter gear where the flavor text is "Just my Sparrow, my rifle, and me"? This is her rifle. I suppose she'll come to appreciate the Y2 Hawkmoon I have in the vault for her, but it won't ever be the same. That was some mangy old Warlock's gear. The MIDA was always, always hers.
Boolean Gemini is the replacement until they bring back MIDA. And maybe even past then, it's pretty good.

And I wasn't alive for either kill. Thank you, team. HM is somewhat harder than I had heard (at least with a group of 304-306 guardians) but it was a lot of fun coordinating under pressure and making it happen. The HM shader is all kinds of absurd and I want it want it want it
You run the House of Wolves quest from the terminal? That might help if you haven't. I do think taking it up to 6 weekly bounties would be better, especially since they're all Taken based anyway...

Man, that's 2 hours of missions for like 500 rep. Screw that.

So I never actually hit Rank 3 with Variks to buy his shaders so I figured it was about time

I mean... 500 is not something to sneer at if you're short. Plus they're fun missions, especially if you've never played them. Or even if you have played them.
@Muffinatron Glad to see the raid worked out and RNG smiled on you. Apologies for leaving you high and dry. Family issue popped up, and I was stranded somewhere without cell service with which to withdraw from the raid.
Is there a decent source of continual experience? Wanna cap my hunter's subclass but itd probably take a week of bounties to finish at this point. Is pvp any good for that?

It's a lot more than 500 rep. I think the final mission in the quest chain is like 500 rep alone. I think when I started it I was level 1, and it put me exactly at level 3 by the end.

So, due to Season 4 in Diablo quieting down in the PA clan, I have ignored all good sense, and picked this up again.
Holy hell did they change things around. No idea what I am doing.
One question I cant seem to find an answer to.
Does having 3 of one class still result in the best way to gear up? Or did they smooth that out, so I should delete my other Titans and make another Warlock and Hunter?
If you are reading this add me.

I guess it's still theoretically the best way because you can share armor from the raid but also it isn't really that much of an advantage? Make the different classes and enjoy those IMO.
The raid is really the only thing you'll see this benefit. For gearing up to raid, the way that blue engrams work now make it pointless to worry about armor sharing.

Mayhem Clash is kind of fun. I imagine with a group would be really neat.
Ran a couple matches for sword kills and got 3 or 4 each match. I think it's much better to do that portion in regular Crucible where the hilt is much more viable as a weapon. Trade off less heavy drops for a higher survival rate.

Don't worry about it. Family comes first. @Corporal Carl was happy to fill in.
Oh, that's why. I thought I was missing a quest somewhere in the Reef. Oh well, the reason I don't have rank 3 on my Warlock is that I never did very much PoE; hopefully I'll enjoy the grind, I guess?

Just to clarify this important point for @HexDex, you can infuse items across class lines - so if you're gearing your Titan, tuck away a piece or two of armor for each slot in the Vault between LL 280 and 300. When you get a Hunter up to 40 and slap on some brand-new Legendary gear at LL280, stop by the Vault, pull out those unused Titan pieces, and feed them right to your Hunter armor for a quick boost up to 290-whatever.
So at 260 light, is the main focus for gearing just to get marks and such to reach 280?
Marks are good, but really it's anything that drops the greatest quantity of blues. Constantly equipping gear with higher light levels will in turn cause higher light equipment to drop, up til you hit 290 (at which point it drops off a bit, but you get a greater chance of decrypting purps from blue engrams).

Doing quests / crucible / strikes / gunsmith / killing stuff should net you items from engrams to reach 280 easily enough without the need to buy any of the 280 vendor gear.
Marks just seem to be something that allows you to get a bit of gear you haven't been lucky in getting. Eg; not found a good sniper rifle? Then get the 1000 yard stare from the vendor.

Thanks for all the responses. I only vaguely get what you are saying re: infusions, but the net answer makes sense. I can safely delete my extra Titans when it is time, and level up some a new hunter and warlock again.

Thanks to all my friends on this board who helped me get an antiquated rune this week for my 45th fragment and touch of malice. Gravi and Squirrel were the lucky duo that was there for the final rank and drop, and then we all worked together to knock out two sword quests at once. I estimate getting the rune took the following grind:
3 Nightfalls
2 Full Raids (one last week, but w/e). During this, I saw probably 10+ drop for fireteam members.
7 Omnigul strikes to farm black wax idols after getting disheartened on ranking up and Court.
Approximately 70 reciprocal runes from myself, and probably 200+ from others. During these 70, I had 1 stolen rune drop.
Approximately 25 stolen runes from myself using all my black wax idols from the last year, and probably 75 from others. During these 25, I had 0 stolen runes drop.
Approximately 25-40 Antiquated runes from others---it's ridiculous how much I've optimized this fight. A team of 3 can do it in 1 spawn easily now. During these, I saw an antiquated rune drop approximately 50-60% of the time, most of those for the rune user but many for randos like me. It felt like they were raining for everyone but me.
5 Hunter Eris Morn Ranks (at 25/rune and 3k per level, that's a lot)
2 Titan Eris Ranks
Ranking Eris from 3 to 10 on my Warlock (10th rank got it!).
Dear Bungie: Fuck your time-gated content such as calcium fragments from weekly rotating bosses or ghosts that only appear on once-in-a-blue-moon dailies. The best part was all of my eris mourn daily bounties got stuck at the Antiquated rune part, making grinding up her rep stupidly tedious. Seriously Bungie, fuck your shit and fuck yo couch.
Edit: For anyone else going for this tonight, abandon the eris morn if you get to the antiquated part. I didn't realize being stuck there would prevent me from picking up new ones. Slowed me down quite a bit as those are some 250/500 chunks of rep.
Hey, guys so the Sisters in Oryx Hard Mode can literally roll and drop absolutely nothing for you for HM. Isn't that fun? Guess what I got from them twice this week?
Good news though. I'm not bitter about it at all. Nope. Not one bit bitter.
So at 260 light, is the main focus for gearing just to get marks and such to reach 280?
Vendor gear sadly isn't very good since it's stuck at 280 and blues go up to 299. I'd just buy Hung Jury which is a scout rifle you're likely to want to infuse well above 280, or buy an exotic you'd like to use in crucible where LL doesn't matter but the extra stats in Y2 are useful. f you're planning to do Raid content, I wouldn't decrypt any exotic engrams until you're 300. Once 300 you have a chance of them decrypting at 310, which is nice.
Then, if you're stuck on a certain item that's preventing you from leveling up use Marks to help there. For a lot of people who don't raid, that's usually a Ghost Shell.

I am bitter
I got a 300 Shotgun and 4 Moldering Shards out of 2 HM kills on them.
This shit is way worse than the dreaded Vault of Glass system ever was, if something dropped in VoG, it didnt need to run a dice roll 1-10 for being the highest level, it just was.
If I hear Bungie talk about Smart Loot one more time I'm probably going to puke half my guts out, what a straight up fucking lie, the raid is at least fun because the loot system is fucking garbage and Moldering Shards are a band aid on an amputated leg.
EDIT: Saw a guy on Bungies forums who mentioned doing HM Oryx for 8-10 hours and finally beating him - Loot? Nothing, because fuck you thats why.
So, I spent a week being stupidly sick and unable to concentrate enough to even think about Destiny. It pretty much sucked. Anyway, how's the hard mode version of the raid, what's the DPS check for it, and what new mechanics are in it? I am interested in these things.
