So...if I have an open preorder for a game that isn't limited quantities (Star Ocean) but isn't out yet; can I just cancel the pre-order, re-pre-order and get code credit for that?
Also...is that fat chocobo different than the one already in the game? It says "original" fat chocobo, but it looks white.
Its a fat white chocobo with a crown and a bigger gyashal green on a stick.
Thats pretty much it. Worth it though as far as I'm concerned.
Have to say, I'm pretty pleased with getting a bunch of stuff from a pre-order (Titanfall 2) I was going to get anyway... Much better than buying a bunch of soda!
I had been been thinking about ordering Shin Megami Tensei IV on Amazon for awhile now so this served nicely to finally push me over the edge and go for it.
Got to love it when stuff lines up like that during moments of indecision.
Got the code email immediately after pre-ordering the new Zelda, pretty nice bonus IMO. While I had fun at last years fan fest, the GF and I are probably gonna skip it and just do PAX West. I'm mighty tempted to get that stream ticket though...
I ordered Star Ocean V for the Amazon stuff, since I'm a sucker for Tri-Ace. Those FF X minions are super cute, so I guess I'm getting a stream package this year.

In some cases the story pretends you did it yourself, like Ifrit story. Regardless, the game isn't pretending there are not a LOT of adventurers with the Echo. You are just the best of them all.
...and when you are done with that; take a folding
chair to Creation and then suplex the Void.
So a while back when I was playing super casually I stopped because my pattern of:
Log on and queue for dungeon for whatever I'm leveling and then do HW stuff with my 52 WHM.
Stopped working, which was why I quit. Have the queues for the pre HW dungeons gotten better? I remember like a week solid where I'd log in, queue as DPS for half an hour and get nothing, queue as healer for ten and get nothing and sometimes even run into issues getting a group with a tank.

Yes, because there's a good amount of high end grinds that need older content now.
For example, the fourth step of the Anima relic requires an item that can be bought for 1800 Eso or gained for running the CT raids once a week. Guess which option most people go with.

Both..typically.

I just wish I knew what the warriors of light who disappeared from Carteneau were up to.
Only just started the post heavensward content but I had been kind of assuming
Thats who the warriors of darkness are with them being modeled after the ones from the opening.
Figured they might have been pissed about how that hot mess turned out and turned their back on Hydalen.
There are a lot of questions about the warriors of darkness that aren't close to being answered. If they are the team that Louisoix sent to the future, then you would know them because you (legacy) were at Carteneau and also got teleported.
The whole thing is as clear as mud. What square is doing with them and why they used those specific models is just confusing.

If they end up releasing five or six new active abilities with the next expansion, I think I'm going to have a brain aneurysm.
Probably won't happen but I'm kind of hoping they condense a few things or create abilities that can replace others in certain situations (like I prefer this rather than "I absolutely have to use both") so you don't have everything and the kitchen sink slotted at all times.

From what little I've played and read it seems the devs are aware of the idea of keyboard bloat and it being hard to find meaningful new abilities for each class without stepping on toes (heck in HW the new WHM stuff kinda felt like whatever the other healer was called from memory).
I wonder if eventually they'll basically list a given job as done or introduce some new mechanic that involves picking which set of expansion abilities you want.

Yea at this point I'd definitely prefer maybe a choice of passives or a choice of overwriting abilities (as in you can either slot X1 that replaces A, or X2 that replaces B, but not both at the same time)

DoH is definitely leves. It's faster and cheaper. Depending on how much crafting you want to do later on, you could possibly outright grind the 56-60s using rested exp, manuals and macro crafting materials since holding onto raw materials takes up a lot of inventory space. Also flat out grinding the last levels also means you can skip upgrading gear
DoL is also leves, but I prefer grinding out the levels as you can sell the stuff you gather. Especially stuff like Flax, Silver Ore, Effervescent Water, Alumen, Cobalt Ore
For levelling DoH classes look into unlocking the Ixal when you can, which is about when the story has you fighting Garuda. Their quests require you to craft stuff and the best part is you can do the crafting as your strongest class then cash in as any crafting class. Best of all, the highest Ixal quests will also give you tier 4 crafting/gathering materia.
For DoL, also look at doing Grand Company provisioning missions. That's how I got all my classes to 60.

Thanks guys! I know I could be leveling Paladin to 60 but I find the grinding stuff to be really relaxing. Just tossing up a podcast and running around mining.
You're running a dungeon and your gear is 15-20 points higher than the tank's (so, i215 - i220 vs. i200). You keep pulling hate off the tank. Do you throttle it back a bit?
PSN/XBL/Nintendo/Origin/Steam: Nightslyr 3DS: 1607-1682-2948 Switch: SW-3515-0057-3813 FF XIV: Q'vehn Tia
Probably not? 20 ilvls is absolutely no reason for a tank to lose hate, at all, ever. The problem there is incompetence, and attacking slower won't fix that.
Most aggro management skills for DPS are on 2-3 minute times so they won't be up every pull assuming they even cross classed them. 215-220 is pretty much the baseline for item levels now anyway so the tank needs to start farming Midas normal.
I did a quick experiment, let me offer some data to support this. As of 3.26, tank stance is 2.7x threat, the second hit in a threat combo is 3.5x threat, the third hit has a 5x multiplier for Paladins and a 5.5x multiplier for the other tanks. I took my level 60 Dark Knight and gave her four pieces of Vault tank armor, a Darkscale belt, and the Sohm Al tank pants, and the accessories my level 53 Dragoon was wearing. Final item level: 132, with 637 strength and 630 vitality. In that getup, with Darkside and Grit on, spamming my threat combo and nothing else, no oGCDs or Dark Arts or anything, I generated 193,927.5 threat in 91 seconds - 2,131 threat per second. You would need to be doing DPS higher than 2,131 to the target to get hate off me.
Of course, can't always be doing your threat combo to full utility, especially in dungeons. So, in a group situation? Unleash has 6x threat, and in that same gear I'm doing ~200 damage a cast - quick test gave me 1450 in seven casts. That's 3,356 threat per target per GCD, 23,490 total in seven casts. You need to be beating those numbers per target to pull anything off of Unleash spam.
20 item levels is nothing. If your tank at i200 can't handle dps at i230, they should be ashamed of themselves.
Had a small heart attack when I remembered I had a one time password on my account.
Really glad that for once my laziness regarding clearing apps I don't use off my phone worked out. Now to grab a month of sub and all the tools to re-name/re-make my character. Reckon I'll go back to Au'Ra for a bit maybe.
It's not the end of the world for DPS to give the tank a 2-3 second lead time.
Where are you losing threat?
If it's Trash and the DPS aren't assisting you, that's their fault. You should be able to weave Unleash between your threat combo hits to keep agro off of AoE.

If I notice I'm ripping aggro off a tank, first thing I do would be to double check my targets, and perhaps wait for a GCD or two to make sure I'm hitting the "right" target. Next throttle down would be to not stack CDs.
However, if I'm ripping aggro using a standard rotation, not jumping the gun and not using CDs, that's the time where I dig through logs to find out WTF is happening and giving advice if necessary. I'm not going to pause between every GCD. That's just ridiculous.
Did they announce anything for XIV during E3? I've been doing some online searches but not coming up with anything.
Did they ever officially announce Samurai and Red Mage?
I really hope that if/when they give us Red Mage that they go with a Spellblade play-style for them. Just a standard hybrid white/black seems like it won't work very well in XIV. They would need to do something different and unique. And elemental strike spells would be awesome.

They discussed more about how the Palace of the Dead will work (and confirmed that yes, everyone's favorite creepy conjurer will play a major role.) They also have said that they're working with Microsoft to make an XBone client.
Only rumblings on xpac have been that inventory will get a MASSIVE upgrade in it. Don't expect to hear anything about the xpac until October 14th.

I know that, if you're a legacy account, it's you, but starting from ARR, that plot point kind of just vanishes.

These are super helpful for what's generally not a whole lot of effort, especially the in-demand ones.
