NDSU has put together a legit program in a place that is normally pretty difficult to recruit players to attend. It would be nice if they were served something better than cold fast food.
With this being the second time he’s done it, it must be because Trump thinks he’s “owning the libs” because it annoyed them the last time and Republicans would never tell Trump he’s a tasteless moron.
Cal student Paige Cornelius wrote in a Facebook post that in March 2018 she had "medically withdrawn from school, seeking intensive therapy and psychiatry for the post traumatic stress syndrome and anxiety that happened from the time I spent working for the Cal Football team."
Cornelius outlined what she said were several alleged instances of sexual harassment involving players, coaches and staff members, including being told, "I will get you fired if you do not have sex with me" by someone she identified as a member of the coaching staff.
Cornelius later told ESPN in a phone interview that last fall she reached out to Cal athletic director Jim Knowlton, football coach Justin Wilcox and other staff members about her experiences but did not receive a response. This was partly the reason she went public with her story, she said.

What the fuck is wrong with you people?
I think we can probably just add "every college" to the list
Given that it's a) Texas and b) football, I'm going to guess that they're willing to turn a blind eye to sexual assault and rape if it's done by one of their stars.
That was one of the 22 NCAA violations Ohio State's football and men's basketball programs self-reported between May 1, 2017 and May 22, 2019. The athletic department reported 16 football violations and six men's basketball violations during the two-year period. The violations, which spanned from serious to absurd, were obtained by Eleven Warriors through several public records requests. The most recent request was fulfilled by the university on Monday.
The violations submitted by Ohio State to the NCAA include the following: Impermissible text messages, impermissible phone calls, impermissible promotion, preferential treatment, an assistant recruited prior to passing recruiting exam, student-athlete reinstatement, impermissible publicity, promotion using student-athlete image, impermissible publicity and inducement, an impermissible tweet, impermissible electronic correspondence, impermissible text messages, use of image/name/likeness, use of outside consultant, Big Ten tender filing deadline missed and financial aid overage.

Fox wants more noon games. So they're trying to get the PAC-12 to kick off at 9 AM local and Larry Scott is into it because he's somehow even more terrible than Delany

Fuck starting a football game before noon local time

The east coast can play at noon and then the west coast can play at noon. 3PM is a fine time for a football game

3 PM is often one of the most desirable kickoff times, even.
This whole thing would be to get the low/mid tier teams of the conference more exposure

You know what else would get the teams more exposure
If the PAC12 Network would quit fucking around and get a deal made with the biggest satellite TV provider in the county

When scheduling a home and home series always make sure you get the first home game if you’re the school with the lower profile. (And make sure it’s an actual home game, none of this “neutral site” BS where the “neutral site” is a lot closer to the other school’s campus)
We went to South Bend in 2003 and didn’t get a game back from them until 2009 and even then the game was played in fucking Texas.
We wouldn’t have won anyway because we had a dogshit team coached by a dogshit coach but it’s the principle of the thing.

I think the worst thing there is from Trace Armstrong, former NFL player and current agent: "Only a matter of time before he did something that did substantial harm to you or the program."

Wish it wasn’t so redacted, but it’s pretty telling they all thought it would blow over and keep describing it we “he said/she said” which it most assuredly is not.

Multiple woman, who were too drunk to consent, went to Cephus apartment and were then raped after they decided to not have sex. Jury deliberation was just 45 minutes.
Now I wonder how much his lawsuit against the university is going to cost. Fuck this world where acting like Baylor is apparently the better play.
Yeah might need to rethink using Tim Kight’s stuff at work after this...
Also Urban calling Schiano “brah” is ridiculous
But the TLDR is:
Nobody gives a shit about Courtney Smith but damn near every document here has something about how tough this situation is for Zach and/or Urban (and recruiting)
Urban really is clueless boob
I think it’s good exposure for the program, and hopefully with the “just film and be unobtrusive” style Hard Knocks favors, we won’t get too many instances of media dudes trying to bait Mike Leach into one of his meandering non-sequiturs.
(He does enough of those on his own, he doesn’t need national media encouraging it)

Hello D&D! Pick'ems are back. I'll try to post them here, but to be safe keep an eye on the SE++ thread.
PICK'EMS WEEK 1: CLAY HELTON IS STILL EMPLOYED Y'ALL
Straight-Up (spread in parenthesis)
North Carolina vs. South Carolina (-7.5) - LIVE FROM THE QUEEN CITY! On the form, the Ole Miss/Memphis game is actually listed first, but that's just because ASP wanted to slight South Carolina and its need to always rush in and be first at everything, no matter how stupid the reason. But who cares about South Carolina, when the real highlight here is the return of the Mack! Mack Brown is back to revive the program he kinda made good and then left as soon as a good job appeared, and if I'm being honest, I'm morbidly curious on how this is going to go. Part of me thinks it will be a disaster, part of me looks at the rest of the ACC and thinks there's a decent chance of it working out, and part of me just hopes Mack tries to skip out early on a game at some point this season to catch a flight. All things are possible here!
Ole Miss @ Memphis (-5.5) - Speaking of all things being possible, Ole Miss! Sure they're probably not going to be great in the SEC, and they're still rolling around with Matt Luke as head coach, but it's the first game of the year when all things are possible. Also, please don't respond if Matt Luke is not actually the name of the Ole Miss coach, because in the spirit of the Mississippi education system, I did not bother to do any sort of research and just went with whatever my heart said was right. Also, with this game being in Memphis, I can just feel the Tigers taking a scalp early.
Northwestern @ #25 Stanford (-6.5) - Noted anti-labor figurehead Pat Fitzgerald leads the defending Big 10 West champion Wildcats across the country to Stanford, who will have to come up with a new excuse for losing this game, because you can't complain about body-clocks if you're the home team. The real battle will be in the crowd, as all 27 of the Stanford fans will try to drown out the cheering coming from the press box, which will be full of Medill grads (of which I am one, because I am paid money to write about sports).
Boise State vs. Florida State (-5.5) - LIVE FROM JACKSONVILLE! This is such a weird game on paper. I don't think Boise State has the same continuity it's had the past few years, but it's still a pretty well-established program with a lot of institutional continuity in place. The same can't be said for Florida State, which had an abysmal year featuring #NoleFanHere trying to fire Willie Taggert after *checks notes* 1 fall scrimmage. It's still kinda crazy that Jimbo Fisher didn't catch more heat for the garbage fire he left in Tallahassee in his wake, and while Taggert is a good coach with access to a treasure trove of resources, I am starting to wonder if he'll even get the opportunity to make it work.
Against the Spread (spread in parenthesis)
#14 Utah (-5.5) @ Brigham Young - HOLY WAR! Literally the reason this is coming out so early. Last year's edition was fantastic, with Utah scoring 28 unanswered points in the last 16 minutes of the game to pull off the comeback. But I don't think this year's edition will be as close. For starters, Utah was without its quarterback and leading rusher in that game, and was instead relying on the backups. Tyler Huntley and Zack Moss are back now, as are basically every other major piece from Utah's Pac-12 South championship team. I guess BYU is getting some credit with the game being at home, and it is a rivalry game with a ton of actual animosity, so strange things can happen.
#19 Wisconsin (-13.5) @ South Florida - So, uh, we're doing this again? With the whole ranking Wisconsin thing? Maybe they're actually good, but this feels a lot like an overreaction to a sizeable bowl win over a Miami team led by a Mark Richt that was actively looking for the exit doors. Or maybe South Florida is actually supposed to be not-good this year? I don't pay attention to Florida teams that don't win national championships, so I couldn't tell you one way or the other here.
Missouri (-17.5) @ Wyoming - This game is also fascinating to me, but only because Missouri, an SEC power that has been to the SEC championship game more times in the past decade than Tennessee, is going on the road to Wyoming. I assume this was just one last prank Gary Pinkel played on Barry Odom before riding off into the sunset. Also overhyped QB extraordinaire Drew Lock is no longer here, so there really isn't any other reason to watch this game according to me, the person who can barely keep up with the team I get paid to cover.
Fresno State @ Southern California (-13.5) - Pfffffffffffahahahaha these dumb mother fuckers didn't fire Clay Helton ahahahahaha and then they hired Kliff Kingsbury only to watch him nope off after a month to the NFL ahahahahaha and now they're going to try to run the air raid still with a shitty QB and no run game because all the running backs and offensive linemen are trash ahahahahaha and they kept their bad defensive coordinator around despite the school currently being sued under allegations that said bad defensive coordinator was arranging for actual smart students to take online classes for his moron players hahahaha this school is a garbage fire and there will be more Fresno State fans at this game than Southern Cal ones which is great because the new renovations are ass ahahahaha fuck this school and team.
Houston @ #4 Oklahoma (-24.5) - There's a lot of fun storylines in this game. For one, everyone wave at Jalen Hurts, now officially at Oklahoma and bearer of the one of the toughest burdens in the sport, as he will try to become the third straight quarterback to transfer into Oklahoma and win the Heisman in consecutive years. He'll need to have that kind of season because Oklahoma's defense will probably still be ass. And on the other side, everyone wave at Dana Holgorsen, who escaped the crazed fans of West Virginia only to end up in front of an equally-deranged set of fans in Houston. At least Holgorsen fits with what Houston's identity has been in the past decade, which is a step in the right direction.
GAME OF THE CENTURY OF THE WEEK (spread in parenthesis) (STRAIGHT UP)
#11 Oregon vs. #16 Auburn (-3.5) - LIVE FROM THE PALACE AT DALLAS! Oregon is a preseason darling to win the Pac-12, what with their established quarterback in Justin Herbert and strong recruiting classes relative to the rest of the conference. A lot of these prognostications do tend to ignore the fact that Mario Cristobal has developed a reputation of not being a good in-game coach so far in Eugene, so maybe he can get to the point where he has enough talent to override his general stupidity. Clemson without a Lake, meanwhile, is stuck in this awful loop of being a pretty good team, but not nearly as good as the true conference powers, and it leaves the boosters in the weird position of simultaneously hoping to fire their coach and realizing there is no silver bullet they can hire to fix this short of the guy coaching the other school in the state. You'd feel for them, until you realize everything is starting to line up perfectly for another one of their patented "get a bunch of bullshit last-second victories and somehow end up in a national title game" seasons.

Which means that Briles will easily fit in.
In other news: no duh, shithead!
Perhaps if they beg hard enough they'll allow them to continue playing so the seniors aren't punished unduly?
So all recruiting violations more or less
