Sallah and I mitigated this loss to Caketown by deciding to tame out first Quetzal. In the spirit of the season, he has been named Starkiller.

Just a heads up... i found an argent from warboyz, no name or saddle, on the side of the mountain at 35, 55... since i don't have a base currently i took it to Mvrk's on the cliff over-looking the Green Obelisk... even though i don't think Mvrk has played in ages/that the base in abandoned it still has walls and doesn't look like much spawns up there anyway so it should be safe.
Is the entire island covered in snow because of the holiday event? What can I do as a low level player to keep from freezing to death so quickly? I've got a full set of basic clothes and I carry a torch, but I still start losing health to cold pretty quickly.

Yes, the snow is just for the holiday.
As for some ideas for staying warm: Stand near penguins, they make you warmer for reasons. Build a campfire. Build SEVERAL campfires, their effects do stack. Kill everything you can see, harvest its skin, and use the resulting EXP to craft hide clothing. Also use the resulting levels to increase your fortitude. Beg in chat for someone to come give you hide clothes. Do what you can before you freeze then take everything off, put it in a chest, and reclaim it after death has its way with you.
If you can get yourself to even chilly (snowflake, not icecube) your health will regen, so you can still operate by freezing until your health is low, pausing for a break to get your health up, the continuing what you were doing.

Awww just hatched my first dodo egg but it died before I could finish naming it. You really gotta be on top of that shit or they don't stand a chance. Poor little guy.

if anyone find a pterdon named comet or an anklyo named hibiki they both seemed to vanish out of existance
A good rule of thumb when something vanishes is to check 50,50. Stuff that gets accidentally moved or teleported by the server often ends up around there. Especially flyers for some reason.

The recipe has never been there. All the checking I did was while the event was still going on. It's super frustrating. I even spawned and killed a Dodorex in singleplayer to see if it dropped or something, and it's not anywhere. If the event is over now that's eve MORE frustrating because I had 80 holly saved up I could have used one something else.

Someone on the server said it went till the 4th, so that's disappointing if it's over. Just saddled my first Ptera and finally collected a few presents last night.

Got my Ptera killed like an idiot and lost the expensive ass saddle.
But now I have made a saddle for my elk and it is fucking amazing. These things can jump like ten school busses at a light jog.
Plus it doesn't murder my performance.
Edit : built a launch platform and landing pad so can jump the river gorge by my house with my awe some deer. I have dubbed the feature the Primeval Kneivel Gorge in honor of my great achievement. 8-)
Anyone around who wants a 120 rex? female with (what i think) are really nice colours up near the north... i'd be tempted but i'm still living out of an obelisk and i've already got a high rex.

Apparently the new combat AI applies to them as well.
Now when a dino is wounded enough, it will run. Specifically if it has trouble pathing to the target. No more tranqing from the safety of a quetz and the dumb animal just standing there below you.

Yeah... i was attacking a Alpha raptor with my rex, it got low health and just turned and *ran* and as you know alphas are alot faster than normal dinos so he was *gone*...
Although i was eventually able to catch upto him as he had stopped running and finish him off, so it wasn't all bad.
Oh! also... Kipipi noticed a Giganotosaurus belonging to 'Bird hird' near there base was injured, and was worried it might rage out and destroy there base... Do we have anyone still around from bird herd?

If it's starving to death, it wont rage. Mine starved sometime last week. Giga's seem to need a ton of food and go through it faster than normal even when inactive.

Some of my friends have had issues finding the server as well. So far I've been able to send them an invite through steam and that lets them connect. Once they have a character on the server they can just search for it using the character filter option.
I'm usually on around 10-11pm central, so let me know if you need an invite!

So yesterday Heroth went through all this trouble to craft Argent saddles for Meksi and i, even providing the extra hides we didn't have.
So naturally today I land Angie outside my house, step inside, hear battle music, and quickly run back outside to find everything quiet but no bird. She should still be alive somewhere, she's just MIA so if you see a painted Argent named Angie let me know. That would be awesome.
