Started running hard mode on KF for the first time this week. Made it up to the Daughters on my Titan (308) and to Oryx on my Hunter (307). For some reason, every group I've been in has had a hard time on Daughters. We seem to always struggle with the adds after the first daughter drops. Is there some kind of trick to doing it?
The trick is to have enough people on the squad with Touch of Malice such that killing a given Daughter is trivial, allowing plenty of time to clear adds before the next jumping phase.
You have some time after downing the first sister so kill all the adds left up from the first round with your Touch of Malices from within the invincibility bubble. Wait for the taken enemies to spawn in the middle before you run to your platforms and have everyone possible chuck their grenades down on them. Then go and get on with the second run sharpish.
Also, use the little steps in the middle for where to congregate for your damage phases with the bubbles, though don't go up there until the invincibility bubble is there because the daughters will just wreck you without it. For the second daughter you can also go up on the dead daughters platform, that means none of the adds will hit you so there'll be no screen shake.
Yeah we were doing that pretty much. The problem was that the runner was making it to the kill-spot with less than 20 seconds to spare. I think it must have been a timing thing. Groups I had just weren't jelling very well. Strange too since some of the folks actually had the HM emblem. Oh well, I suppose after next week I'll be closer to 310 to make it easier.

We had I think 5 ToM in each group I was with. I think the clincher on my Hunter was that we had two folks who were 311-313, and on my Titan everyone was sub 310. Must make a big difference.

So, LORE stuff.
Apparently everybody knows about the WAR-4 ghost scan thing:
Getting into the bunker required multiple scans of 4 pairs of eyes simultaneously, but it has been opened multiple times over the past hundred years with the same sets. Ghost speculates that they were either early guardians or SOMETHING has kept them preserved.
Which is interesting.
A separate mystery that I haven't seen much discussion of is in REGICIDE:
When Oryx invites you over the gap there is the opportunity to scan statues, there are three:
One to the left of the door, one to the right and one through the door.
The right statue represents Crota, the middle Oryx and the one to the left Nokris.
Your ghost says that it is having trouble translating the glyphs and that Nokris isn't mentioned in the library of the World's Grave
I'm trying to assimilate that into the Book of Sorrows, which I just finished reading (which is pretty cool! But starts off better than it finishes).
Which leads me to the next question, Book of Sorrows:
What is the Leviathin?

Looking at everyone's awesome loots I am thinking I should have taken a few of the invites into the ToO...
But I had just done the crucible part of the sword quest and was not feeling well disposed toward the experience of PVP
On the other hand I did get my 45 calcified fragments, so now I just need to down CrotaOryx

Yeah, your runner should be dunking on the Witch with about 30 seconds on the clock.

Sounds like the runner was come to a stop on every platform or something, it's pretty important to keep your momentum during the platforming otherwise you finish with too little time to spare

This is where pubby groups fall apart in my (painful) experience. People can't track which platform they're responsible for when there's a change in runner, runner's are too slow getting to the relic or to the dunk point, etc.

Each group I have been in has called the platforms out differently.

It definitely makes a pretty simple encounter confusing.

Re: the second spoiler:
Yeah that's an interesting one. I spotted that my first time through and was surprised to see a lot of people missed it. I feel like that is going to tie into the part of the Books of Sorrow where someone (I forget who) "wrote" on the page something about the book being full of lies. The other option is that Nokris was written out of existence by the Vex, but that might be hitting that particular well too many times.
On a side note, I have two buddies who want to raid with us in destiny, but aren't penny arcade forum posters. Is there scope for that? Ie koin the 100 grp but not the guild? Do you need a forum account to join the guild? Is our guild/the100 group full in any case?
Had a good Trials run with a rag-tag bunch of people on the bone. Sorry that the 3rd group I joined I had to bounce after only one match, but had already done a couple hours and didn't expect the last game to take 30 min to get started. ---wasn't anyone's fault, just a bunch of loading screens etc.

So I did Bounties of Osiris with a few guys and I got myself a 300 disc/str ghost with helium extractor! Which is a thing that I truly wanted (you can't get extractor from the vendoars presently)... so yay!
“I used to draw, hard to admit that I used to draw...”
Thanks to @Forever Zefiro and one other (who I don't know the forum handle of) I got my Trials bounties knocked out in one sitting.
Got a butt towel upgrade and a 300 sniper rifle which I'll probably keep just for the paint job or if I ever feel the need to run a primary exotic on my Titan and have to drop Invective.
Myself, Cobell, and BradCopter just finished a delightful journey into Trials. While we weren't able to secure five wins, we did manage to squeak out some stylish victories and ponder the etymology of Rigel Wolfcoon (is he named after a character from some Babylon Five with Furries fan fiction?).
Lag-Switching, Tea-bagging fuckboys were still out in great quantity, but we also encountered a highly skilled team of classy gents that bowed to our corpses after their win.
Brad and I each walked away from our noble attempt with the swag-as-fuck Trials hunter cloak, which I must say pairs really well with the raid helm.

Did trials for the first time ever. Cobell and Mugen were awesome enough to let me tag along and suck. I got tons of assists, very few kills, but had fun song the way.
Also got some pretty arms and a sweet sweet cloak, so I call that a win.
I think between two characters, I won maybe 3 total matches. I really don't like the style of play popular in trials, and I hate that the map doesn't change.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

Ran into a guy that I'm fairly certain was lag-switching today.
We popped 2 guys on the opposing team over a heavy weapon spawn, and the last guy is approaching. He's getting damaged, and tries to jump kill, I counter with melee, and when I melee I wind up "teleported" a distance from my original position (hunter melee lunge) and he's back by his allies. We killed him before he could bring any of them back, but yeah.
edit: got video of it, didn't feel like uploading to youtube though.

Well, wrapped up all the ToO bounties. Them adding those has made it a lot more accessible, as it allows people to not be obsessed with trying to get to the Lighthouse. Nabbed a 308 autorifle that was actually really nice, but not as nice as the Hung Jury that promptly gobbled it up. A pair of the subset boots that I'll probably never use, too.
Played all my matches with destinylfg folk as most everyone has a set team, best card result was 4 wins, three losses. Eh, was fun.

ToO is fun. I wish it was easier to convince people who don't tend to classify as hardcore to play it.

I think BradCopter was looking for a Nightfall if you want to replace me.
In the mean time I need to break apart my network again, and maybe make an angry phone call to my ISP tomorrow.
Looking forward to more!
