Dropped connection to Destiny twice while trying to Iron Banner. I can take a hint game.
also aim assist is a terrible, terrible thing and should be scrubbed from existence.
At least in PvP. I see no reason not to leave it on for PvE stuff.
Though it would make the guns handle differently and would probably lead to less people PvPing because they were so much worse the moment they stepped into it.

2 rounds away from the Lighthouse, nooo! We sweeped a bunch of matches up to 8 wins on the card, then lost two matches.
Tried again, no losses until the very end, lost a match, then narrowly lost out one single round from the Lighthouse. I don't feel too bad about it though. We had a damned good run.
I'd definitely be up for giving it a go, next time you and @Booker wants to make another attempt to the Lighthouse, even if I'm playing Fallout 4, watching Netflix or whatever.
Much thanks to all the various folks who crossed my path in the banner last night. Had a couple of great groups going, which was a blast as usual. The drop system is so much better this time around, as my hunter was able to assemble not only an almost-complete set of IB gear, but a set with the best perk rolls I could ask for. Well done, Bungie.
@radiation Are we going to trial tonight? We should. This is it. Shooting mans. Completing bounties. Maybe winning.

As much as parts of it can (as always) be an RNG crapshoot, I have to say that I'm really happy with the way the rewards system functioned in this week's Iron Banner.
You get to rank 5, you get something awesome that's most likely going to be an upgrade. Even though I wanted the helmet, I'll take a 320 Titan towel. It beats having to throw on my 30 light one right before every win (except the close ones), and now I can represent the Banner everywhere I go. Big upgrade over my 306 NM King's Fall one.
Lower-light armor pieces and guns seemed to drop very regularly, including some matches where everyone or almost-everyone would get a purple drop at the end of the match.
It's just what this IB needed at just the right time. People are playing a little less because we've tackled endgame and because other games are coming out left and right, but I felt motivated to get two characters to rank 5 this weekend instead of spending my time elsewhere. And it helped that the PA fireteams were a lot of fun.

Wife is on a Hunger Games movie marathon for our Thursday viewing of the last one, so I have to juggle that, but I think I can do like 9 EST? If earlier I will message you.

I am actually jumping on today to get my Titan up to rank 5. According to ironbanner.info, I just need to do the 3 weeklies on my Warlock and my Hunter today to hit rank 5 on them.
If I'm going to make an attempt to get all the sparrows I'm going to need those 75 legendary marks each, so I'm going for it.
Once lag issues had subsided for me slightly - I found this Iron Banner to be highly rewarding. Ended up with the shell at 310 and lock helmet at 318 with decent rolls going on, ending up with a full IB set by Saturday morning.... Think these incremental improvements make the game much more rewarding, especially at times (like for me at the moment) where you're unable to log as many hours as you'd like.

It's all RNG. The package at the end is welcome, but the drop rates were garbage for me.
I got all of two drops while getting my Titan to rank five. That's hardly an improvement over last IB's drop rates. My Warlock alt fared a bit better with two drops by rank 5, and my Hunter alt only got one by rank 5. I had better luck during year one, and House of Wolves Iron Banner was dropping BTRDs and Ash Factories and all sorts of other awesome Crucible guns the whole time, too.
Saladin also only offers one version of each armor piece, rather than the two he used to sell. Both need to be heavily infused, anyway.

We start a match on Cathedral of Dusk (5 Grimoire points I didnt have! 3rd on list!), 5 against 6, the 6 man team gets 1000 points before we even break 500, but we make a glorious comeback and the win screen is filled with legendary loot...
Except for one guy.
thanks for the blue boots, really.
0 IB drops, I'm halfway rank 4.

I had such a patchy iron banner run, the first 7.5 ranks were great. The latter were terrerrrrrrrible.
I got the sniper in void at 319 with hidden hand and ambush.
And the hunter cloak at 320. And a 316 ghost. So that was all very sweet

Yeah, RNG can be a real jerk. Sorry to hear that you had such poor drop rates. I think I had like 8 legendary drops in the five or so hours I played on Sat and the two or three hours I played yesterday, including an end-of-match drop upgrade or two on my Hunter. So I'm clearly praising it from a position of good fortune, I guess.

You know, I was going to make that exact joke, but our bad pun train went on so long that I think we gave @ElementWrath an aneurysm.
I dunno. a pun not about weapons might have been a good icebreaker
Damn you, you magnificent bastard.... That was a berry good pun.
its me I'm that guy
Well now I sorta want to hate you but then I remember that Ghost is stupid, with the icon not matching the model.
So just enjoy your stupid looking ghost.
Also the seemingly random nature of which bounties do and do not count in the iron banner worries me
Got the shell (yay), but not the helmet (boo!)
Which means that Bungie has effectively blocked me from finishing the IB set for another month. Fucking RNG bullshit.
But today it was me getting the stomping. Truly a humbling reminder just how far I have to go to git gud.

Penny Arcade 100 Group for PS4
I went from only having one 300 piece and everything else being in the 280's to three 310+ pieces and only two items below 290. Very good indeed.
Now it's time to clean up shop. Get a few PvE things done like try to get in a NM Oryx run this weekend or something.

You cant get 320 Exotics outside of Trials of Osiris bounties as far as I know.
Being 311 just guarantees that the Exotic Engram will be 310.
