Ceanataur S really did a good job for helping me finish off HR.

I also went back to adept lance because it feels way too good to me even with the brokenness of striker.

That reactive block feels so satisfying.

Obligatory: That's not what she said?

But yeah after extended sessions it gets kind of worthless for camera purposes. I'm mostly a target-cam user, especially in the monster's personal space 90% ofthe time.

Ceanataur S is really good. I just made the Narga duals and I have a 70% affinity. Sooooo many pretty red flashes.

Also my hands definitely are starting to feel the strain of constant hunting; part of it is i haven't playe a high intensity game like mh in a while and part of it is the 3ds

Any particular recommendations on grips or will any old one from a store do?

If it's old 3ds the Circle Pad Pro is the Cadillac of grips even if you never use the slide pad.

If it's a new 3ds this is what I picked up and I really like it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013JDH8J0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I've got the CYBERGadget one from Japan. Was pretty cheap to import and is absolutely perfect to hold. Not had any problems with my hands cramping up or the right corner of the New XL digging into my palm since I got it.

Edit: The one Entaru linked is the same as mine. It's great.

Apparently some people on reddit have found that if you rip off that nub and plug one of the original PSP thumbpads onto it, it works fine. I'm really strongly considering it.

Both me and my hunting buddy bought these specifically for MHG. While it's not exactly like a real controller it's like 80% there where it's more than good enough for me to forgot I'm holding a gameboy.

It got brought up last page and I can confirm I spent way less time with MH4U than I otherwise would because of how tiny and annoying it is to hold a 3ds, even the new 3dsXL, to do anything. I'd probably already be done with MHG without that grip and made portable MH worth it.

EDIT: The most important part in Coal Hearted is turning in the coals one at a time and doing it in a Wireless (not Offline, so Ad-hoc local or Internet) lobby. A brief experiment confirmed it for me, although admittedly, I only did 3 or 4 trials each time.

Vault goes up to +5 and can be found on Shining (2 slot max) and Timeworn charms (3 slot max). Plesioth armor (full set, which does not have a waist, as usual) has both Vault and Mounting.

So that puts me at an armor set with:

Critical Eye +2, AntiVirus, Critical Boost and Repeat Offender.

20% affinity, 45% after an attack 50% after 5 attacks, 80% when hunter art is up and 1.451.4x damage for each critical hit.

If I use a weapon with any affinity at all the numbers go up accordingly.

down for hunts all day today, got a hub opening just doing charm runs (cmon +5 fast charge 3 slot)

    ...what is this Sakura method?

unlock the coal hearted quest (it has a quest log related to killing offline astalos, pulling out sword from kokoto, and then offline tiggys and a hr 5 triple desert monsteer quest)

its a HR volcano quest that has you deliver 10 coal.

its bugged though, so if you do it on local wifi or online hub, delivering 12 coals (10 + 2 more) ONE AT A TIME gets you max rewards for row 3, which is 6-12 timeworns + fuciums and firecells.

    so the idea is:

eat for explorer, gather at secret 6-8-9-10
should have 10 coals by this point, farcaster back
    deliver one by one
go to area 1-2 get last 2 coals
turn in again, one at a time

5 mins is my usual time, usually net between 12-20 charms (mostly timeworns) and around 15-35k cash depending on rush/ancient shards and how many talismans you keep

really good for money and charm farming

I would say just make your own hub. I'm sure there are people willing to backfarm since there are so many weapons to make if you feel like you're behind on hunting rank. Also there might be people who are interested in hunting but just aren't actually in the discord voice channels since they're waitin for a spot in a full group to open up or something. Never hurts to keep asking.
