I voted for making it illegal to sell items made from endangered animals and against extorting the legislature into putting in a 2/3 requirement to raise taxes.
I don't have to pay attention because I get my ballot in the mail along with a thing that explains everything on the ballot, plus all the tons of shit that candidates and people for/against various initiatives mail out.
Mail-in voting is great. Every state should have it.
I voted for the weed monopoly because, fuck it, weed
I am going to do the same in a little bit.
Because decriminalizing minor drugs is important.

I've got some property tax stuff to vote on. Specifically, should we cut everyone's property taxes by about $100 a year, which will cause a massive shortfall in education funding.
Don't worry though, the legislature promises they'll find that money somewhere else!
The same Texas state legislature that is being sued by a bunch of districts for not following Constitutional funding guidelines!

Yeah. It's not the best implementation of decriminalization, but from what I hear it's not much worse than many other states' attempts at legalization.
And, hey, anything that gets more young hippies to move to this important swing state!

is the measure about decriminalization or about a monopoly among the dispensaries?
Both. There is an issue before the legalization one that will cancel it out because the wording on issue three is technically a monopoly of grow sites.
I don't vote, unless you mean like when yesterday my wife and I voted on whether or not we should go out for seafood or steak (steak got the majority of votes)
I voted to ban red light cameras because they cause more accidents than they prevent because people drive skeevy as fuck around them here.
I also voted for some referendum to add more money to the budget of local animal shelters, because animals :heartbeat:

My ballot had a "vote for three out of these 5-6 candidates for city council" line item; the other three items were unopposed offices including the mayor. No referendums or social issues to vote on.
Pretty bland Election Day for me other than being a reminder that the Primary season will start up in a few short months.
Oh man I dunno if I can make it to the polls. My brother had an appointment earlier and some lady in the waiting room had an pneumonia and I'm starting to feel feverish and sick.
I dunno maybe if I leave right now I can get it done before I feel to sick to drive.

only thing on the ballot here is 2 empty seats on the school board and exactly 2 candidates to vote for though :rotate:

Getting decent information about them is like pulling teeth
I'm all trying to pull things together because i only found my county actually had shit going on yesterday
But i'm fucking voting, you can't stop me!
I hope everything happening in my area is in line with my views because I'm probably not gonna make time to find out and/or vote today unfortunately
i think my town just has nothing going on this year

how will that even work when the law creates an illegal monopoly
will they have to throw out the whole thing or will they be allowed to keep weed and just the part that creates the monopoly will have to be scrapped
I've heard plenty about a presidential election for next year!
Yay american government.

I think that was the state attorney's office's doing.
Like apparently people will be able to keep plants in their homes and stuff too, but they are trying to use language to scare people into voting no.
There is also a funding bill for our local zoo, and a initiative to form a bipartisan group in charge of drawing electoral districts.
Would it go to court?
But so many judges.
No issue 2 would go into effect first. Eliminating three entirely.
how does one decide what judge to vote for? There are about 9000 as you said, and I don't know anything about any of them.
but they're listening to every word I say
you have quickly found the problem with electing judges.
I thought maybe you had found the solution.
