So it's not worth it to keep irradiated food you find lying around with you? Burning through stimpaks sucks, but I guess that's what cooking is for.
? I eat most if not all of the food, and only use stimpacks in combat. I always have waaay more rad away than i know what to do with, and on very hard stimpacks can be hard to come by. Radiation from foods really not a worry.

I know it was never a Bethesda mechanic but I'm really missing the hunger/thirst system. Without it I end up amassing this huge stockpile of food that I have no idea what to do with.
Yeah I'm playing on survival and I have like 40 stimpacks at all times and never any rad away.
Ammo is also really scarce. I find myself being forced to pick up and use a pipe pistol often as thats the only gun that ever has plenty of ammo. As of right now I have 0 anything else and 800 rounds of pipe pistol ammo.

So... most meat can be cooked. I'm not sure what uses vegetables have other than planting in your settlement and the occasional recipe, like Vegetable Starch. But I too am wondering if Pork and Beans is going to be used for something, because otherwise, it's not worth the rads.
I am, of course, holding on to my Sugar Bombs, because there's always a fucking use for Sugar Bombs....

what you do is dont pick up the radiated normal food but kill animals for radiated meat then cook it
cooking gives xp and the stuff you make gives you bonuses and no rads

Also durability still exists in some form. Each piece of power armor has health points and when they reach zero that peice can't be used until it's repaired. Not quite the same as durability, but it's something. Wouldn't mind if they used this system for all the other armor too.
Any idea what counts as an explosion for demolition expert? Do missiles/fatboys count? Do you get extra damage on a legendary gun that shoots explosive bullets?
First bugged quest, 51 hours in - 'Boston After Dark - Secure the Rendevous spot' has a couple raiders which I kill, then ... nothing happens, guy who is meeting me never shows. Tried to advance it via console, no dice. Will dick around with it later.
Saw some new stuff in Boston itself tonight,
a massive bear, a rad scorpion and an albino mongrel.
Seems like once you hit 39/40, stuff starts to come out of the wilds.
Are people really eating food as is? I collect all radroach, mongrel and other awful meats. The bonuses are WAY too good to pass up as using for your healing items.
I finally ran into a Yao Guai and Codsworth made a bear pun, and sliced its damn head off while screaming.
Then meekly suggested maybe he wasn't the right person for the job of murdering things.
People seem to be saying that Codsworth is actually amazing. I left him behind because I figured he'd just get in my way.
In combat, he is both great and bad at the same time. He does huge damage in melee, but there are a lot of situations where he can't get to his target. In some cases he can use his flamethrower instead, but it does crap damage. You also can't stimpack to get him back up.

Now that RADs mean something, not really. Can't just chow down on garbage to lighten my inventory, either.
Does Dogmeat actually sneak? The little guy looks like he's trying, but I can't tell if he's shit, I'm shit, sneak is shit at my agi/perk level, or what, because this just is not working.

Codsworth pisses me off massively. His bullshit ethics in the wasteland are just the tip of the Shit Iceberg that is Codsworth.
Oh, that's it. He's a British robot butler who has had nothing to do for 200 years. He's a liability and I can't have him see the stuff I have to do out there to survive.
This random dog I found, however, he doesn't judge.
That instant crash I got entering the cell near some building happens to be directly in the path of an on-rails travel section for a quest, so I can't just avoid it any more. So I guess my game here is over.
Judging by Bethesda's history, they've never fixed these corrupted cell crashes. The big one in Skyrim is still there after all this time.
Still, only 35 hours down the drain.

I gave up using this armor piece I found that gave the chameleon effect while crouched standing still. Enemies could still hone in one me eventually, and at that point it became more of a hindrance to me because I can't see the iron sights on my weapon while it's happening so I keep missing shots. Add in the way it completely fucks up the pip boy display and it's just too much of a hassle.

Remade my character. Going with a melee/stealth build. Have you heard of blitz? Because it is op as shit. Makes your melee range in vats about the same as effective pistol range. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wQEExoeNIsk

Well, it's not going to replace actual stealth skills and a silencer on your pistol, if that's what you're expecting it to do.
Guy from 200 years in the past lands in the nuclear wasteland, knowing nothing about this new world.
He helps defend some poor schmucks from raiders.
Their leader says he's grateful and hands him a bag of bottle caps.
Guy immediately says "oh I didn't do it for money."
???
The weird thing is that your character does actually express confusion about currency... later, when you reach Albany Farm (or however it was spelled). It would have made a lot of sense to move that dialogue to Preston or the Minutemen group he has, or set a quest to the farm just after you reach the settlement (since it's a good source for food, which you need for the settlement quest...).
There are so many strange decisions in this game.
Also some freaking out from the Sole Survivor about raiders openly shooting up people in the streets, and the freaking gigantic mutated monster of a beast that just annihilated an entire street of people, would have helped.

I was expecting it to not look like crap. Functionally it was fine, it just ruined the UI entirely. I was saying that despite it helping with stealth the terrible shimmer effect made it an overall hassle. Thanks for assuming I don't know how to play though.

I mean I chalk it up to games in general, they are never good with this kind of thing, particularly in conveying violence involving hundreds of murders. And that's in linear games. There's bound to be some out of order stuff in games like fallout where you can come to certain situations at random times

I think Dogmeat disappeared from my game; because I can't find the mutt anywhere. After a certain quest where he was needed, he literally just disappeared. Anyone have ideas?

The Saugus Ironworks bossfight is fucking awful. Although I think I am severely underleveled, I got... well maybe I actually got pretty good indication, because molotovs hitting me did huge damage.

It dropped a right shoulder piece that does 5 dr +1 agi and + 1 per though so I'm happy with it.

I'm finding squirrel bits in places but no actual squirrels to shoot for fresh bits...
Like, I like crafting. Crafting is good.
I just think it should've been seperate from the perk system.
This is a good point. I haven't seen a single squirrel.
