Heroes has humans in the overall sense that Raynor and Valla and Hammer and Kharazim are all humans.
But it has surprisingly few humans from the Warcraft universe. Just three - Uther and Arthas and Jaina. Given how prominent humans are in the Warcraft universe, this number could easily be twice as many.
But, I'd like to see them add other races. Draenei would be great. Prophet Velen is a pretty cool dude, and he would make a good hero. Yrel is interesting because her Warlords story arc really focuses on her growth in skill, power, and responsibility. And like Ducks said, we need a troll. Zul'jin the axe-throwing berserker would be neat, and Vol'jin the witch doctor would also be sweet.
I'd like to see a real tauren that's not a joke character. E.T.C. is great and all, but where's my Cairn Bloodhoof or Brightmane or Hamuul Runetotem?
And of course Chromie is the best gnome ever and they need to put her in the game. Right now. Right this very minute. Like literally right now. I need Chromie.
Seriously, not even the game they come from remembers the Draenei are a thing. Or WoW has been actively trying to forget what the people who made TBC shackled them with. Either way really.
I'm sure Draenei are on that list of upcoming heroes somewhere in the "Sigh, yeah, I guess we have to. At some point." section.

Space Goats Coast to Coast was one of the best shows Cartoon Network ever aired.
I think they have some stuff datamined for Mekkatorque. Who is quite possibly the worst possible gnome choice they could ever make.
He has literally no presence at all in WoW. Nobody knows who he is, what he does, or anything about him. He is absent from every major storyline, and he basically might as well not exist.

draenei are more popular races to play than trolls, gnomes, dwarfs, goblins, and pandaren, and equally as popular as worgen
they are slightly less popular - approximately 1% less of the playerbase - than tauren and orcs
acting like draenei are some nothing is losing sight of how people enjoy warcraft in favour of your personal and anecdotal enjoyment
yrel has more screentime in wod than Chen did in MoP, than cho'gall ever has, more than brightwing and falstad and gazlowe and lili and lunara and rehgar and rexxar and stitches and uther
you can totally say "i am not interested in that character" but acting as though there's too much of a "who?" to add them in hots is silly billy

It's more pointing out that well there may be alot of players playing Draenei, the people writing WoW generally forget they exist most of the time. Like the Blood Elves they got themselves some storylines in TBC but none of the characters really made an impression and then they just kinda faded into the background for several expansions.

Yeah but most of those heroes are either better known or based on well known units or the like.
Like, I'm pretty sure Yrel got way more screentime then Leeroy Jenkins or Hogger ever has but that don't mean she's better known.

World if Warcraft, in my opinion. I mean, don't get me wrong; they're okay, I've just always been disappointed that the playable Dranei ended up being uncorrupted Eredar space goats instead of the Broken.

Gotta be pretty or you won't get played. Same reason they changed all the horde-side female models back in Alpha/Beta.
Not opposed to any character from any Blizzard game getting in. I played WoW for a long time and never heard of Yrel. I am in full support of a space goat hero, despite that. But let's be fair, Uther was a big deal in the Warcraft universe during the WC3 era and Cho'gall has been splattered here and there through out Warcraft lore. I immediately associate those names with core WC. The way you brought those names up in your list made them look like minor footnotes.
A lot a folks didn't stick with WoW long enough to explore some of the later developed stories and characters. For the people that did, they can be a big deal. A lot of people, even serious fans, stick to the RTS version or only touched on WoW. It makes sense that they shrug those characters off.
Either way, I'm all for diversity and welcome any character. I'm sure we all have our pet character we would like. I want the Diablo 2 Necromancer, Hogger and Kyle from Blackthorn.

yeah but this could be argued to be the case for a LOT of races in wow
like the worgen are only now attempting to kill sylvanas, 6 years after she invaded their homeland. and their military action is taking place on the new island we're all on instead of gilneas
it's a weakness of the wow writers that the most memorable night elf scene (the third most popular race in wow after humans and blood elves) is king chin explaining to tyrande what an ambush is, they don't really use their vast stable of characters well, and choose to instead utilize the same characters over and over again - varian, thrall, jaina, garrosh, vol'jin, anduin. it's something we've really only seen them acknowledge as a weakness over the last few years
anyway, point is, when are we getting the myluneaara skin, where all her poisons are replaced with pepes

Many of the Diablo heroes are entirely made up.
I personally could not care less if a Warcraft universe hero is well known in other games. In fact, I think it's more interesting to have lesser-known characters make a debut. They can get more creative with them.

Oh sure, it's not unique to the space goats. I just think the are the most notable for it considering they were one of the first 2 new races added and the only one that hadn't been around before and the giant shitstorm adding them caused which they tried to go "No, they are totally important to the story" and then they forgot all about them after TBC for ages and they never really developed any major characters anyone knew about (until apparently WoD I guess) and the WoW writers seemed to want to forget they'd ever done all that stuff for TBC and just wanted to hide it away in embarrassment.

I mean, Blizzard has said they've been trying to add race representation to HotS, right? At least for the Warcraft characters anyway.
That's partially why Greymane exists. I mean, sure, Greymane started off not as "Greymane" but as "character who can change between ranged and melee forms". But the fact is, they went with a Worgen.
It's ludicrous to think they will never add Gnomes or Draenei or Trolls or Undead or WHATEVER into the game. Of course they will! It's just a matter of time, really. I also think it's less of a "hmm we should do THIS race" and more of a "hmm what sort of roles does the game need right now, okay let's find a character that could fit into that".
So yeah, I'd totally expect to see Yrel in at some point. Just a matter of when, man. ...Well, and they still also have some more uh, prominent characters they need to add first (cough Varian cough Garrosh cough).
I quit WoW before WoD came out, I played both Alliance and Horde, but even I know that Yrel was a major fucking character and I don't know anything about her.

I saw a different character for a split second too.
First QM game as Lunara is against a fucking double healer comp with Li Li/Morales/Kael/Sylv/Lunara, and I get Brightwing. Starting the god damn patch off right.
For those of you who have used her or played against her, how does Lunara feel? I could see her really catching a team off guard if the poisons are applied well.

I like Lunara so far, but her kit really intertwines with itself. I suppose thats fine, but she doesnt have a LOT of debuffs that the rest of the team can take advantage of.
She controls so different than any other character Ive played. The bouncy stuff is really cool for hopping around teamfights.
I havent formed an entire opinion after a game, though. Obviously its going to take more than that. So far, Im cautiously optimistic.

actually machwing works for blizzard and browses this thread occasionally right
can you let it be known that the higher ups have forgotten about Saurfang and need to put him in HotS asap
Oh my god why is Morales free this week? She's like a hard fuckin' counter to Lunara.
All that DoT damage? RIP.
Oh and not to mention pubs still don't understand that you have to focus her down first. Sure, team, let's all beat on the Wrath'd/Stim'd Sonya while Morales is just sitting there healing her up. Great idea.

Yeah yeah, stealth assassins are impossible to balance and they ruin the game. Yadda yadda.
But Akama.
This is adorable, not sure if The Butcher or Abby is my favorite in here.

e: great the new party chat color is purple on purple. Who thought this was a good idea?
I'd be okay with either version of Akama, actually. Exarch Akama, dual-kama-wielding wrecker of faces yes please.
