    yes. For 2 reasons.

    First, because if someone is logged out when I change their name they might have difficulty next time they log in, so this thread alerts them that hey, they need to use that name they asked for.

    Secondly to try to reduce identity confusion when people see an avatar they know with a different name.

    Why can regular mods not change names? That's always seemed like a kind of unnecessary thing to pester the admins about when they could just give regular moderators the ability to do it.

    oohhhh could an admin remove the 44 from my name?

    When the forums died for a couple weeks a while ago I lost the ability to log in on 'Xaquin' so I remade with the 44 on the end

    Its bugged me ever since

    Interesting. This gives me the opportunity to try out the "merge users" feature.

    Assuming everything works as advertised, I've merged your Xaquin user into your Xaquin44 user, then renamed Xaquin44 back to Xaquin. Hopefully this means you should keep your password/email addr/avatar/sig/etc and I shouldn't have ghost posts floating around from a deleted Xaquin user.

    Lemme know if you have any issues.
