Preston seems super super bland
Strong is, like, fun with his whole hook but just kind of a generic Super Mutant dude from what I've seen
The character work in this is way better than any other Bethesda game I've played
As soon as I'm back home from work, I'll be setting up a reinstall and as detailed as possible a support ticket.
This is getting annoying
I just finished
I also totally roasted the guy I was with, but he's alive and cool with it, so no harm no foul!
"Follow the red lamps!"
Oh, the lamps that are indistinguishable from any other light source? Oh, great, no quest markers either. PERFECT. What's that? More enemies than anywhere else in the game so you can't even trial-and-error it? But of course!
Arrrrrgh
"Oh no Trash Hulk, me and Metal Husband are going to feed you in baby bottle because you are TINY BABY MAN."
I see we had a similar idea (although mine is just One-Two). I also have a heavily modified automatic 10mm called 'Last Words' that I love.
I should probably start walling everything in and put up a dang recruitment tower. And another thing, set up a bunch of power lines in an orderly and sensible fashion before making anymore houses.
My initial impression on the settlement building thing was cool at best, but it's actually pretty fun once you get it.
i didn't even know there were lamps, you can follow the line of bricks on the road and arrive there just fine
think there were a couple of spots where there's a bunch of junk over them but generally going in a straight line until you find the bricks works
did end up running into a whole bunch of enemies headfirst though

My original plan was a high Int science man, so I rushed to 9 Int to be able to extend my fusion core use, but now I'm thinking that as cool as power armor is it's also kind of a hassle when you get a leg blown off and need to go and repair it.
Old Friendly
Big Red
The Business
The Kicker
The Big Goodbye
And the latest addition: an explosive shotgun named Badda Boom

Have they changed the repair stuff at all?
Except for power armor but that's a whole different thing now

They're called My Gun, My Knife, My Shotgun, My Sniper Rifle and My Other Rifle.
I'm very creative.
That change took me by surprise. Fallout 3 and NV conditioned me to find extras of everything for repairs and upgrades.
I still pickup just about everything that isn't nailed down, but now they mainly go to either the scrap bin or the shop if they're worth something.
Yessssssssss
There are many like it, but this one is mine.
I've been leaning towards playing female characters whenever I have the chance, but in this case I'd also like to try and recreate myself as accurately as possible
But so would Steve Rogers, so hmmmmmm...
yes but which one is for fighting and which one is for fun?
This and this, respectively.
And man, I just am so in love with what they did with the scavenging/crafting/building system. It changes every piece of trash loot into something super valuable, despite what the game says its value is. Last night I found a camera in a ruined house and was thrilled. I don't think its even worth 20 caps, so in other games it wouldn't even be worth picking up, but because it has components that I need to craft or build, I was super happy to find it. Hell, I'm picking up aluminum cans and broken light bulbs and wishing there were more.
Downside is I'm super broke, because I never sell anything. But the added immersion of being a wasteland scavenger is worth it.
Yes! But only companions I'm afraid.
You make them your companion, hit the use key while looking at them to give them commands, and then hit use on the power armour and they'll go get into it.
Then you can go running around with, say, Nick Valentine wearing power armour and his fancy hat!
Well, you won't be able to get that accurate. Charisma only goes up to 10.
If it helps the female voice actress is really great.
The male probably is as well? but I haven't played a guy so far.
Also,do companions pick up ammo they need automatically? I wanna give Piper a submachine gun (name it Chicago Typewriter, natch) but constantly trying to hand her ammown would be tedious.
I tried that with Preston, but when I switched back to Dogmeat as my companion, Preston stopped, got out of the armor, and walked off. Is there any way for them to STAY in the armor when they aren't your active companion? I want to leave them as power armored settlement guards, not have then clomping around behind me alerting every raider around to my sneaky sneaky presence.
It feels like it's somehow happening more since I tried lowering the settings
Hmmmm, we had Preston in his power armour at The Castle for quite a while before we took him as a companion again and got him out of it.
But I also remember Piper disappearing one time when we dropped her off somewhere and when we found her again she'd got out of her suit. It's a bit inconsistent.
He just seems to pop out of the weirdest places and smack my enemies in the back of the head. He seems to find it hilarious as well which only adds to the moment.
I've got a few screen shots where I'm in VATS about to make the kill shot and he photobombs it and smashes the dude in the back of the head first...always grinning
I can't stop picking up guns
I wish they were worth more
