So playing Dragon Control Shaman feels a lot more right than the Control Shaman I was playing before. The shell is the same but the Dragons really smooth out the consistency. I want to get rid of the Volcanic Drake though but I don't think Twilight Drake fits. I could put in Nef for one of them but not sure what to do for the other.
What's wrong with the volcanic drake? It's a dragon trigger and it's a perfect post-elemental destruction drop (frequently free if you have totems down).
I find it sitting in my hand a lot lately. I don't see as much all out Aggro anymore so I'm not really killing tons of minions with my Elemental Destruction any more. I tried Nef + Chromie. Chromie without a way to trigger a draw basically just eats removal but I wonder if that's ok.
Isn't chromie the reason why ancestral knowledge was made? I mean, it's inferior to Arcane Intellect in every way...except the fact that you can 10-mana drop it with chromaggus and get 4 cards right away.
P.S: Well, chromaggus AND Ancestral Knowledge into Lava burst for lethal. Who cares if you have no mana next turn if they're dead?

Server is bullshit today. I keep getting disconnected, and it's NOT a problem on my end.

After seeing ram wrangler in action for a bit, I realized that there are a lot of really bad beasts.
LOE was kind of a nerf to Ram wrangler. Webspinner, not so much. But hey, smetimes you get a turtle, sometimes you get king krush. Not getting value for your mana though? Almost never.

Think I can safely conclude that Brann is REALLY GREAT in a Dragon Priest deck. Actually had one opponent concede when I dropped him behind a couple of taunts.
After using Ram Wrangler in a bunch of games, the problem is that "breaking even" on stats, across two minions, is not at all what you want in a 5 drop. It's okay as a one of to roll the dice and maybe automatically win the game, but I think it's not actually a good card, just a dumb one.

True, but compare it to other good replacement 5-drops for Hunters:
Of those, Mukla is really a 7-drop for full value and Harrison could be a dead draw depending on the class. Tiger, Lobber, and Kodo are ok or underwhelming. Drake and Belcher are almost always good. Loatheb is great.
If we look at it this way, Ram Wrangler is sort of a weaker version of Unstable Portal. It's got the potential to outright win games when played. It also has the chance to hose you, but that doesn't happen as much. Loatheb is probably a safer all-around choice, but in a Beast synergy deck, Ram Wrangler definitely deserves a look.

Though don't forget you already need a beast on the board. So unless your hunter deck is already beast-heavy, it'll be tough to roll the ram dice to begin with.
So immediately after the random pack change to Arena I played two games (arena being my primary gold dump) and got two vanilla packs and decided arena was no longer worth it. Last night and today I figured it was time to give arena another shot and played two more runs... for two more vanilla packs. Yeah screw arena.

Just played a long game with grinder Mage vs. an oil rogue. It felt so good to have an answer to every single one of his threats until he's in fatigue and I have 7 cards left.
Wow, with all these 1 mana cards and zero mana coins Questing Adventurer kinda ridiculous.
My pack was super disappointing though. For someone with as few cards as I have, it really stings when 4 cards are duplicate dust and the only new card is a Mass Dispel.

The coin gets shuffled into your deck when its played. At one point I had two coins in my hand...
Playing those 1/1 chickens is a really really bad play
I think you both misread a rule. Cards return to your deck when you play them or when you discard them at the end of your turn, so playing/holding them is functionally equivalent.
The only way to burn cards out of your deck is with discard or "put into play" mechanics.

I thought for sure a tool-tip popped up that said "When you play a card, it gets shuffled into your deck."
edit: explain the two coins I had in my hand at one point.

You did. But you missed the one at the end of your turn that said "Now shuffle your hand into your deck and redraw." Or something like that.

ah, right

for some reason i got so far into the "i'm playing a deckbuilder" headspace that i thought stuff on the board would be returned to my deck at some point once it's in my discard

There's a set of crazy new bugs every week!
If it means they are pushing the tech for cool things, like with the coop Brawl, I'm fine with that.

I am using the Kibler Reno deck with dragons subbed in for the 4 drops he is using.
I dropped ET for Coldara and go back and forth with Chromaggus.
I also eliminated all 7 attack drops and haven't really missed them.

No that's the brawl. It's pretty meta.
Ahahaha, I've got 3 Confessor Paletresses. Thank you Fel Reaver.
(Does this make no sense to you? Cuz this Brawl is weird.)
I had no idea what was happening, but in a good way. I loved it.

It's absolutely based on deckbuilder mechanics.
I came here to post exactly this.

like at a certain point you're just flooding your deck with trash if you keep going "well i've got an extra 1 mana, let's play this chicken"
