Absolutely adore the new map, Mexico was an inspired location choice.
For me its just amazing the different locales biomes in the game. Especially when you run a race that takes you through all of them. Weather effects are also choice, can't wait for snow.

I haven't had as much time in it as I'd like but I'm loving it so far. Still a bit disappointed in the lack of CHVRCHES though. Somebody dropped the ball in music licensing there.
Note 1: Have encountered random sandstorm after the scripted one; they do happen, but maybe mostly in Baja? (This would make sense, it's got the sand.)
Note 2: Okay, I am getting unreasonably hot about how absolutely smoked I am being by all these drivatars, and not in the "outdriven" sense, I mean ".3 seconds after start, I can no longer see people", and "half of my starting grid is level 80+ while I am level 7." I don't mind (as much) if like, I get out-drove (a buddy's car did try to pass me, and we may have tried to put each other in the wall, but that's all in fun), or it's you know, a battle for position kind of thing. I do mind like hell the "whoops where'd they go" unavoidable fucking off the line.
Advice on either "not getting utterly smoked like that" or adjusting my mindset if ain't shit I can do? (I have had good luck dropping down to the shitboxes, since I guess my cars can keep up with those.)
Note 3: VIP gets you a single any-car pass from the Showcase. There is a 30 million credit car. (Shelby Cobra.) I think you can do the math on not wasting that thing.
Edit: And OH fuckers is cheating so hard already, no way you did the volcano showcase in .25 seconds buddy...
Second edit: And can anyone suggest a nice rally car/package that's a good sub for my Lancias? I miss my Lancias... I got a Warthog, and I have a suspicion it'll do "pretty good" but like, "meh", you know? Prefer Euro/old-school, and I'd jump on a Group B if they got it. (I didn't see one.) I hear the Ford RS is legit, it seemed like it on the volcano, but eeeeeeh Ford.

Ironically, I think they have that particular song in Fifa. A few of their other songs would work great though, He Said She Said, or that song with Robert Smith. I'd love to bump around with either of them.
Still trying to get my jaw off the floor after seeing the opening flyovers on the XSX. I had heard it was beautiful, but I was still completely blown away and I don't even have it on a 4K tv atm.
That was fun, I did the Gauntlet in a 1999 Mitsubishi Lancer turned A800 with a penchant for top speed and Stabity Style's drivatar was in there with his anime Celica.
As for the race, if 1 AI escapes in first place they will completely blow off and gain a huge amount of distance from the rest making it impossible to catch up with. I tuned to get a high top speed since the Gauntlet is a road race with long straight sections in the middle.
I tried that race at S2 and forget it, with all the curves the AI will just dominate you unless you are a really good driver [I am not]. Worst thing is when you beat your best time and come in 8 while your previous slow runs you ended up 3rd.

Yeah I did a street race in a mcclaren s2 holy shit that was nerve wracking as the AI was chomping on my ass the whole time.

I always start a race off taking a picture when I see cameras over the cars and I swear some of your dickataurs take that moment of zen to fuck up my race start.

There is some wonkiness with the AI (unbalanced, too fast for the class, etc.), lots of reports on it, especially above A class. General answer is cranking it down until something can be tweaked about it.

I did make the mistake of doing a dirt track race in d rank vw bugs and I chose one with low clearance I literally rolled the car on a lap because I dug into the dirt.

In game master volume has no control over it, theres no slider for voice or anything whatsoever. I had to cancel out of a 3 part race because it was unfuckingbearable.

Made the mistake of doing like modern sports cars for a rally circuit everytime I'd do a jump the car would die hitting the ground. Switched to a rally car and completed the run a minute faster.
I try to keep a stable of tuned cars in a variety of types so I always have something from the "recommended" list ready to go for a race. Ideally multiple to choose from every time. The recommended list is also useful for picking out new cars wasting away in my garage to tune up.
So I’m confused by the horizon story vocho, I have a locked mission at the end, and it says I have to reach the hall of fame to unlock it? I went to the hall of fame and as far as I can tell it’s just a leaderboard list, so I’m confused
I’m pretty jazzed to see some of the old Forza race night folks back into this and popping up online. Might be nice to try and organize a race here or there.

When you unlock the full festival you have one last bar to fill up that puts you in the hall of fame which unlocks the last tier of story quests.
