I'm feeling overwhelmed by all the icons that just start appearing. I'm spending a lot of time just driving around the Mexican countryside, though, just exploring. This is the kind of racing experience I've been looking for, haha.

Also I hope they fix the arcade mode soon. It’s really annoying that it’s not working for whatever reason and only letting 1 or 2 people in each event

It was a bug. I closed Forza and reopened it and then no PR stunts were available. Then I restarted the Xbox, closed Forza again, and then they worked.

Don't worry about feeling overwhelmed. I had this conversation with a friend the other day.
While there certainly is progression, this isn't an Assassin's Creed or whatever; you aren't obligated to climb the loot ladder because the game demands you do it. Do whatever you feel like doing, and Horizon will reward you in some way. If you want more rewards and cool shit dumped on you in buckets, yeah, you're probably gonna want to unlock all the adventures and work on the seasonal events, but even just driving aimlessly across the desert, bouncing on dunes and racking up Smactuses will get you oodles of skill points and xp.
I think that's why, in spite of Horizon being just as map-icon-vomit crazy as other open world games, Horizon is getting such a strong positive reception. It just doesn't matter what you want to do, Forza Horizon encourages it and welcomes you, and Playground Games has used that philosophy for several games in a row now.
Maybe that's why I don't like a lot of modern game design; there's so much fucking friction. Everyone wants their games to be Dark Souls but also have crafting but also have multi-hour cinematics but also have loot and skill trees and blah blah blah. And then Forza Horizon is like "here's some cars, now throw them off a ramp or two."
Also I did it I fucking did it I got 3 stars on a drift event the seasonal even! What helped me and maybe it'll help you if you are struggling is to take "big swings" that being speed up and do big drifts and don't try and nickle and dime with small dips and dodges.

Season seems to be about 7 days (when we started spring in early access it had like 4 days left). This one has more stuff to it, like double the points versus the last one.
I did notice in summer a lot of the water ways are hella flooded so if you aren't ready for that you'll splish splash your car.

Also if the points are like last time you don't have to do every activity to get all the cars. But most of them are doable solo. Like the eliminator points are just getting to 30 and that's not too hard once you get a feel for it.

Having a blast with this one so far. Loving the map. Now to paint and vinyl all of my favorite garage cars with N7 designs. Speaking of, if anyone wants an easy to use N7 logo and stripe, just look me up; Jason Marek is my Xbox name.
Also, difficulty strangeness side note. Anyone find it weird that they no longer reward increased payouts for turning down (or off) the driving line as well as turning on car and tire damage? Those were my usual first ones to change as I got better at the game.
Unless i'm missing something, as someone whose been playing all the forzas and horizons since forza 1; the way they set up championships seems way too confusing queue me scanning the map with eyes squinted trying to find the next race in my championship for two minutes then i think find it drive over start it and oops; turns out it was the first race again and i accidentally reset my progress from 4 races in .. fffuuuu
