the upside to PS4 IB armor is that PS4 users will never be able to get the full set of either given how stingy they are with the variety of IB items during each event week. :P

I'm lucky enough to not be a collector per se. But I am a compulsive min-Maxer. I'll have to stop legendary engrambling for a better 1k stare to save up for the new exotics.
I wonder if the raid sparrows will be raceable (might br unfair) or if you'll need to have one or the new sparrows to race.
Overall I'm excited to race but disappointed that no mention of the next dlc was forthcoming. Its been too long to hear what's coming next.
Super shitty screenshot of the PS exclusive IB stuff on the background screens. Not really good enough to look at just, to acknowledge they exist.
I hope it didn't seem like I doubted you! I believed they existed; I just wanted to see what they look like. Like, if it was a whole second set, or just class items, or who knows.
From what I can see in the video, looks like Class Item, Helmet and Arms.
Hunter cloak is dark green with a white wolf on it.

Well
That armor looks amazing and I'm so happy that my console choice I made a year ago is whats preventing me from getting it.

just be a weirdo like me and play on both
I barely have enough time to play on Xbox anymore.
Also, the thought of essentially redoing everything I've done over the past year while also maintaining my current characters does not sound fun at all

I'd wonder how this would impact the XB Destiny population, but I know that it really doesn't make a difference. Though it makes me much more inclined to put my microtransaction monies toward Halo 5 and other games.

I'm seriously at the point where I'm pretty much done with Destiny. I play it ever so often but other games are finally starting to take my attention now.
I don't have much to say about the slipperiness of the slope or the evils of micro transactions in my paid-content games, but I will say this:
Bungie, put that sparrow racing league logo on one of your high-quality t-shirts, or even a hoodie, either light gray or light blue. Do you hear that? That's the sound of me throwing money at my screen.

well, if i'm honest i don't play both at the same time
i've been pretty much xbone only since i got it, but i will inevitably go back to ps4 and catch up that side since at this point all i have left to do on ps4 is collect y2 stuff
That armor looks amazing and I'm so happy that my console choice I made a year ago is whats preventing me from getting it.
I'm not bothered. Even if it was available, I'd need to play a bunch of IB for it, them I'd have to be lucky to even get it to drop, and I'd have to be lucky to get good rolls on those drops, then I'd need the infusion fuel to get the armor up to usable levels, then I'd need to go and dump a bunch of experience and materials to actually get use out of it, and it'd have to be better than any of my current armor pieces to even be worth all that effort.
If it was year one Destiny, I'd grab it just to have it for my collection, but since I had to delete my collection to play year two...

I'm... a whole lot pissed off. <_<
Edit: This is just on legacy engrams trying to get the Y1 Fourth Horsemen; I have a Y2 variant. Fuck the lack of backwards unlocking. Fuck the console exclusivity that led to this situation. Fuck Bungie for deciding legacy engrams should be so fucking expensive.
TL;DR: FUCK
Dude... I got it. I have like... under 10 coins left now, but I FINALLY got it to pop out. I would post the screen shot, but I got it on 360.
I'm pretty sure the issue is that once you get the Year 2 version, it no longer weights for that item. Which is some dumb shit.
Regarding Silver in the Sparrow racing League, don't worry guys. It doesn't "effect" the game. Yes it makes you feel worse every time you play it and see cool stuff you can't have, but that's not a real effect. For reasons.
I'm kinda shocked that they didn't announce an expansion at PSX though. Seemed like the appropriate timing.

So, I have three characters on the PS4, which is my main platform, but I do have one character Xbox side, too. I bought a copy of TTK on the One so I'd have a game to play online with an out-of-state buddy, so my Hunter over there gets by on his hour or two a week I put into him. If I was trying to be a completionist, it'd probably kill me, but playing a version of Destiny where I just don't care about collecting everything is actually pretty good for helping me keep the compulsion at bay on the PS4 side, too.
I also enjoy that it kind of makes it seem like they're working different shifts in-game:
My Warlock and Titan on the PS4 are basically up at the crack of dawn, spit-shining their armor, drinking coffee from some little stall in the warrens at the base of the Tower, looking at maps of where to go hunt for Golden Age artifacts that will probably turn out to just be tapes of Alf or something.
My Hunter on the Xbox struggles to pry his eyes open before noon, rolls out of the backseat of the rusted car in the Cosmodrome where he passed out the night before, wearing his armor, and kicks a bunch of beer cans and loose shotgun shells out of the way, stumbling out into the world to find most of the Fallen already killed by other Guardians, and his path clear and easy. "Hey, guys. What'd I miss?"

No you're right, I must have made it up. The microtransactions were obviously designed to be unappealing to devoted Destiny players and no social or psychological pressure ever comes into play in getting people to purchase.
I can't wait for rewards in EVERY mode that you can't get without Silver. And those will also be totes fine, the only way to lose is to question the devs.
Race gameplay, with a peek at some of the quests and bounties you can take to earn SRL gear like new Sparrows, armor, SPARROW HORNS, and shaders https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24B_4IhfSXs
Sparrow Horns have a new slot in your inventory, under your sparrow. It seems like they work like the masks from Festival of The Lost, where you get blue quality ones that expire at the end of the event, that you can upgrade to be permanent with a specific item. Most likely (TOTAL SPECULATION) you'll probably be able to make one permanent or receive one permanent one, and could get more Horn Relays (the upgrade material) through silver. I assume that everyone will get a permanent one, since it's a brand-new inventory slot.
Looking at the bounties/quests, it's all simple stuff. You get a free Sparrow just for finishing 6 races, so that's nice.
Some of the armor is infusable, in the second video you can see the class item and racing helmets are. The chestpiece, arms, and boots aren't, but I don't know if that's for all of that type, or perhaps there's infusable versions you can earn.
It looks like you have to use an SRL sparrow, since they all have the same speed and all the gameplay shows that same body-type. You can, however, choose a style and whether you want a raid-style super boost without brakes or a Tumbler/Swiftwater trick system with brakes.
I just want new destinations to go to, like... Going inside the Traveller?
Guardians must be complete idiots by some ingame lore, because if you want answers, what is more obvious than the Traveller itself? I mean its right there, in walking distance from the Tower almost.
It was touted as the biggest mystery in the Destiny world during early release, yet everyone is completely ignoring it.

So the armor is like legit armor and not just cosmetic. And they said that some stuff will be 320.
320 armor being locked behind this obviously Silver based event is a bad precedent for them to be able to set.

This is what Bungie said about the emote money that got translated into "FREE STUFF"
“Our plan is to use these new items to bolster the service provided by our live team for another full year, as they grow and create more robust and engaging events that we’ll announce later this year. It has been, and continues to be, our goal to deliver updates to the game. Going forward, our live team is also looking to grow beyond vital updates and improvements to focus on world events, experiences, and feature requests.”
So basically, your money will pay for events where you will be charged more money. (I can see how this message could be misunderstood though, that has to had been their intent too.)

To be fair, that is kind of how game development works. They make stuff, we pay money for it, then they take the profits and make more stuff.
It just feels icky to have a freemium model in a full price game.

I would use the term "Massively Shitty" instead.
As for all the people who kept saying that the introduction of silver wouldnt lead to a pay2win scenario, if those armor sets at 320 are bought with silver and thats the end of it, that would be the definition of a pay2win scenario.
We'll see, I guess - I have been wanting Sparrow Races for a while, it just isnt that great when it feels served seemingly alongside a plate of dogshit.
