It seems pretty clear that a lot of gaming companies have a pretty toxic and vindictive culture, and putting that on top of Japanese work culture leads to some total insanity and employers correctly believing they all but own their employees.

I'm not sure I'd have bought it had I known (it was still $17, which is a lot for a game I don't really know much about other than the premise), but I definitely would have considered it more than I did.
I have to admit it is fascinating to watch a company squander its well-earned goodwill and turn into a company with a reputation that is possibly even more petty and evil than EA
