One thing I'd love to see added is more costumes for characters. We had a few with Olimar/Alph, Wario with his regular duds and Warioware outfit, and Little Mac and his pink tracksuit, but there's plenty more alternate looks out there. Construction Worker Mario from Mario Maker. Blue Tunic Link from Breath of the Wild. Luchador Pikachu. Train Driver Toon Link. Hipster Bowser from that Nintendo 3DS commercial.
Costumes that give you two different but similar characters like Olimar/Alph would be welcome too. I wouldn't mind Peach being able to actually become Daisy instead of just wearing her colours. Other ideas: Ryu to Ken, Bayonetta to Jeanne, Pac-Man to Mrs Pac-Man, Ike to Zelgius.

I've only listened to the first one, but so far it seems to be the stuff we've already gone over. Adding Inklings, Ice Climbers and Wolf into the new game. Combining the Wii U/3DS content. That stuff.
I want all the dlc to be locked regardless of previous purchase
Wanna see just how much rolling my eyes can do
Wouldn't be much of an ultimate edition if they ask ya to buy it all again.
Then again, Nintendo is kinda new to the whole DLC thing... Oh man they might ask you to buy it all again.
As long as it's not all available from the start I'd be happy. Half the fun is unlocking things.
Make it so the base game unlockable characters are all available from the start, and the previously DLC guys are the new unlocks.
Also make all the custom moves available from the start. Or make unlocking them as simple as 'clear Classic with character to unlock their whole custom set' or something, cause I was sitting at something like 50% of em after 100+ hours. That's dumb!
Oh brilliant

What was missing from Smash Wii U and 3DS was a move store. Have the ability to buy all the custom moves with the worthless coins you get.
Don't feel like making an extra-long or super-thorough post at the moment, and I don't feel like reading through the entirety of the Switch thread to find out if this has already been discussed.
1) Smash 4 Switch? Seems likely. More characters? Maybe. The circles that I run in say Ice Climbers and a newcomer, though I personally think a new character is unlikely in the first place. Though if there was a new character, I'd also bet on Ice Climbers. I personally wonder what stages from each version will be picked for the port.
2) Melee on Game Cube Virtual Console? Eurogamer says it's likely, and I'm ready to agree with them, but I wouldn't dismiss giving it a grain of salt. VC games have been hit or miss — Smash 64 on the Wii VC was apparently terribad, but the people behind the NES Mini are behind working on Melee VC which is a good thing I guess? Also I've heard that the competitive scene is being heavily considered in the Melee VC port, and I'll leave it up to y'all make of that what you will.

I've heard both the 2 additional characters in Smash 4 Switch and Melee for Virtual Console rumors. They both seem likely enough, it's hard not to believe them.

I think we'll be lucky if we have the full roster (including DLC) from the Wii U version.
That seems… pessimistic. Do you think that the DLC characters will still be sold separately? Do you think Nintendo won't get the rights for characters like Megaman or Ryu for the port? Or will there not be characters because how difficult they were to put into the base game, like Bowser Jr.? I personally don't see why Nintendo wouldn't try to put every character on the roster in this new iteration of Smash, even if they are DLC.
The second thing, mostly and to start with. After all, if a Switch version exists, it would technically be a new title.

The Switch version will be a remaster of Wii U. It's coming out way to soon after Smash 4 to be a brand new game. Among the rumors I've seen, one said it will be the definitive version of Smash 4. My guess is that means all the Wii U content + some 3DS stuff + a little bit of new stuff (2 new characters).

Yes, I'm sure that a Switch version, if it happens, would be more like a remaster than a new title. I'm just wondering what its status is, legally speaking. Do they get to use the third-party characters again because they're calling it a re-release odnthe game for which the contract was negotiated, or so they need to re-obtain the rights, since a Switch remake was probably not in the original discussion?
I'd like to assume we'll get everything, but the Wii U, and 2016, have taught me the consequences of expecting a best-case scenario.

I'd hope they worked a deal for the third party characters to exist in all games titled "Super Smash Bros For ...". I'm sure that Square, Namco, Sega and Capcom won't be complaining about additional royalties.

Given that development for Smash Switch started before Smash 3DS/U was even finished, it's extremely likely that including all the third-party characters would be written into the contracts at the start.
Hell, the Cloud and Bayonetta amiibos were delayed specifically for Smash Switch. There's really nothing to worry about in this case.

It varies based on the company, but for the Wii U it went from the November launch through the next March.
As the rumor says it won't be out on launch day

I'd also like to suggest Mister L for Luigi, and pajamas for Toon Link, Ness, and Lucas.

Sounds like Wii U + 3DS content to make it the ultimate version. Hopefully the additional content is at least two characters, both beginning with "I".

Maybe lock the moves behind some reasonable milestones like what were used to lock the hidden characters.

My guess for the new character would be someone with a sword lol.
I just want all of the 3ds levels added in and a way to toggle off stage hazards.

So I think it'll be Ice Climbers + somebody who wouldn't be too much of hassle to just throw into the game, if there's any new characters.
