i'm always willing to go to bat for sonic adventure and its sequel, the best terrible games ever made
HANGIN' ON THE EDGE OF TOMORROOOOOOOW
at my best friend's wedding, one of my really good friends and I managed to convince the DJ to let us use our ipods and give us a couple mics so we could do karaoke pumpkin hill, to which many people joined in
Generations was fun. However, the pure spite and hatred that was concentrated in 06 was permeated in every segment of Crisis City in Generations to give you that authentic 06 experience.
The beach level had the same awkwardly buggy feeling of Sonic Heroes.
I think my favorite modern levels were everything but the Heroes, 06 and Colors levels.
I've been attempting to replay Sonic Adventure and it is so bad guys. So bad. I miss having the side step feature from the later games. Sonic controls like you're drunk and pushing a fully loaded shopping cart down hill.

turns out every wedding i've ever gone to is actually pretty lame dang

I didn't get any of that, honestly. My only thought during the 06 level was "oh fuck, THIS is what 06 should have been."
I would kill a man for a good mario maker equivalent to sonic
This is a cool idea but I think it would quickly reveal to people how impossible it is to design decent Sonic levels under a certain size, and how bad the time spent building/time spent playing ratio is when compared to a Mario level

I mean, Sega themselves can't do it, so I dunno why we think anyone else can.
On the subject of 06, maybe I should try playing it.
Apparently it's better than Rise of Lyric, which I found to be decent, albeit way too chatty. So maybe I've been unfairly judging 06 before playing it, based solely on word of mouth.

The Zaibatsu (that is Matt, specifically) have said they would do a full playthrough of 06 in a heartbeat if there existed a version with better load times
Sonic Adventure's terrible, terrible soundtracks are extraordinarily nostalgic for me

Sonic 06 is with the Original the Character Do Not Steal fight where he just throws you with his mind and you take damage but he keeps throwing you into your rings so you can't hurt him and you can't die and are stuck in an existential nightmare.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

it's no use
The moment when the Grumps discover you can do this fight from the other side is my second favorite thing they've ever done

What's your favorite?
Knuckles trapping them in a glitch nightmare that breaks Arin's spirit?
Accelerating uphill with a snowboard faster than going downhill?
Mickey Mouse with a discount AVGN voice?
The end of Battle Kid?
Something else?

Their Emperor "Do it!" riff is pretty amazing. Also Arin's attempts to catch Froggy in Sonic Adventure.

Crisis City just felt off and out of place to me compared to Sky Sanctuary or Rooftop Run.
It didn't feel like it flowed as well from segment to segment like those two did.

That feels too mean to hit "Agree" on, because I really like Jon in all his solo material, but I love Danny on GG and I prefer his dynamic with Arin over Jon's.

I'll have to go back and try this at some point
All I remember is being confused by the time travel mechanic and amused at the cheesy SONIC BOOM song

It's nice when something game-related that isn't Square Enix decides to mock me for loving it
Steam
(Warning: might wanna turn down the volume)
it is actually that bad
but the grumps can barely play games that do work perfectly a lot of the time , so /shrug lol
(Sonic 06 is bad tho)
