Giant Bomb Game of the Year Funstravaganza Threadtacular
Posts
Because at that point they are basically competing directly with their sister site for probably the same time slot for a 2-3 hour Friday live show.
gamespot and giant bomb do not have the same audience
that is why gamespot bought giant bomb
a.) there are plenty of people who follow gamespot who barely know what giant bomb is
b.) it isn't competition because there is no advertising involved
c.) the majority of people who watch the shows will probably watch the archived version anyway

Also they have some pretty great personalities on that site and it'd be a shame if they didn't get to do some cool video stuff
It might not be a competition issue if only because UPF is subscriber content. I'd definitely be interested in checking it out, I always felt kinda bad for not really watching much of the point or the lobby.

I am sad.
I believe both Mary and Danny have mentioned an interest in doing more personality-driven stuff on Gamespot, and a liveshow seems perfect for that. They are both delightful in both audio and video, so I can only imagine it working well for them!
In other news, good LORD Rebel Galaxy is good
God Vinny assuming direct control of that robot was one of 2015's GB highlights.
HR! HR!
It was a loaner
He's real and strong and he's my friend!
in fact the only point against Vinny Caravella I can think of is that he is unskilled at rocket science
I think my favorite thing about GOTY this year was Jeff including "like a backbreaker" in all five ads
I'm struggling to find any word for the experience other than mediocre. I feel like it was as close as I could get to just taking a tube labeled "sustenance" and squeezing it into my mouth. Over all the meal left no impression, but I am no longer hungry.
Sounds about right.
That's basically how Jeff describes his interaction with most fast food, and if you really got down to it with Dan, you could probably get him to admit that it's 'good' only because it's not 'bad' (as in, it has no impact strong enough to be called bad).
I mean I eat take-out/fast food fairly regularly, and it's generally fine, but I don't think I've ever finished and thought 'man that was good!'
Nah the LV-N NERVA engine is still there!
Most of it with the extreme exception of the pork cantina taco they had for a hot second. The flavor made me nauseous.
Back when they had the taquitos I went there every day for a week. They were really good to me.
There is some fast food I consider to be pretty tasty, and take-out which is down right amazing. But, I mean, you can basically get regular restaurant meals as take-out so that hardly seems fair.
You won't get the full Taco Bell experience for another few hours.
I wouldn't agree at all, there are definitely tiers of fast food, just because food is fast doesn't mean it has to use low quality filler ingredients.
I don't get why some folks get upset stomachs from Taco Bell. What I ate wasn't particularly greasy or fatty or anything. If I've survived danger dogs and food trucks without hiccups, I think I'll be okay with a couple tacos from taco bell.
when people think fast food they aren't thinking something like 5 guys. it's taco bell, mcdonalds, burger king and the like. whenever we have movie field trips we stop and mcdonals and I hate it because I can't eat anything from there anymore.
When I hear the word fast food I 100% think of a place like 5 guys. I have no idea what I'd call 5 guys other than fast food.
It's a step above fast food
Maybe not a big step, depending on your tastes, but there's meant to be more to it than salt and grease
That sounds like some PR nonsense term to me.
Short order

You forgot sugar.
I mean, yes, but I think there's a noticeable difference between Five Guys and McDonald's, or between Chipotle and Taco Bell
it exists in its own unique area of food service
