I think I need to explicitly know what exactly you're trying to prove before I can dive into this issue any further.
Disney merch has had a particular problem with dealing with female characters who aren't princesses. In particular Marvel merch has excluded Scarlet Witch, Black Widow, and Maria Hill from almost every single merch item.
However, I don't think that's the issue here.
In particular, I think it's actually important to point out that the Disney Store is a physical place where you can go pick up merch, as they've existed in shopping malls since 1987. "Disney Store" is the name of a group of international brick and mortar stores that sell only Disney merch, it's not just the store page of Disney's website.
Okay, I should clarify, none of the physical locations I have visited that sell merch has had much of anything of Rey. I kind of made some assumptions about that based on past experience with toys featuring female characters (both Disney and otherwise). Hopefully it's a demand issue that will correct itself once the holiday season is properly behind us.
Rey did get a generic 6 pack figure. There're a lot of different multi packs flying around.
I feel that Star Wars merch is so utterly vast in quantity and diversity that trying to get a read on things through a single set wouldn't yield any significant information. There are dozens of different figure sets for instance, so it'd be more valuable to look at different characters representation across the entire range (though I admit that's not data we have access to).
You really don't see why I'd take issue with a pack containing all of the principle characters except arguably the most significant one who just happens to be the only one who's female? Why wouldn't she be there? Why would Chewbacca, basically a cameo character be there instead?
Especially why is Chewie there and neither of the characters from the movie he associates himself with, Han or Rey, be there?
We talked about this already but that's a target only pack that has cheap, off model figures
they aren't the actual main line toys and disney didn't put that pack together

thats because they have made one of each character that are bundled into packs and sold and rey an phasma are selling out
they have already said they did this to gauge character interest and will be making more reys because of interest

toys and merch don't get made in a vacuum. someone at disney/lucasfilm signed off on it.
but as far as I can tell, the real issue with that pack isn't that they just left Rey out, it's that they didn't even make a Rey (of that scale) that could be included in the pack

because they are cheap non-main line figures and they all use the same mold
they're garbage toys and they weren't going to make a second female mold for that line
I agree they shouldn't have made those probably but the idea that they aren't making a rey or aren't featuring her in merchandising is a false statement

The saddest thing to me about the action figure thing is how apparently no one wanted the Finn figure. Ive seen nothing but RACKS of Finn figures and no others.

I'm not really impressed with these Force Awakens 6" black series. They seem cheaper than the pre disney ones. Like, thier necks are designed in such a way that they can't look up. Also the Poe in flightsuit is a really bad paintjob and does not look like him at all.
In comparison the Darth Vader is like one of the best action figures of that scale made. Dude has all cloth capes and robes and a real metal chain around his neck in addition to his helmet coming apart in the two pieces like in the movies.
There are in Japan fucking amazinf Bandai Star Wars model kits but they are banned in the US due to them making the revel kits look like the garbage that they are.

So, in regards to the lightsaber non-force users thing, I think it pretty much just comes down to 3 things
1. There are cheaper, easier to make melee weapons that are pretty deadly, like vibroblades so there's no reason for most people to try and make a lightsaber or get their hands on one
2. One of the main advantages of a Lightsaber (blocking blaster fire) is something you can't do unless you're force sensitive, because you need to know where the blast is coming from ahead of time using your force powers, or have superhuman reflexes. I liked for instance how in the Genndy Clone Wars Grievous while being extremely skilled with lightsabers basically never tries to use them to block blaster bolts like a Jedi. Because no matter how skilled he is in their use, he's not force sensitive.
3. Just use a blaster! For most people, using a ranged weapon with maybe a vibro-knife (or a knife knife) as a backup is all they need.

So regarding the Supreme Leader and Ren
according to that information from the visual dictionary he thinks Ren is the ultimate expression of Force Power, as he has both light and dark side training and force powers, which seems like a very Revan-esque approach which I like a lot. Also it explicitely says he isn't Sith but part of a "new generation of Dark Side users that have emerged to fill the void left by the Siths demise" which is cool. Maybe they'll go a similar way with the Jedi after Luke failed. I'm curious who Snoke will turn out to be, personally I'm hoping he's not actually Darth Plagueis.
Also am I the only one who thinks that Snoke is fine as a name, even if it isn't super badass? Like I don't think it sounds as ridiculous as some people seem to

Re: Force Awakens figs with different accessories/outfits, etc.
They're making a Black Series Finn in
stormtrooper armor with a removable bloodstained helmet.
So I'm hoping they also make a Rey with
lightsaber or, even better, the outfit from the end of the movie where she ascends the steps. Such a cool outfit.
But overall, I'm not too impressed with the Star Wars figures, even the Black Series ones, that have a face. So Vader, Kylo, Stormtroopers, etc are good since they have helmets.

If you just want cool display pieces of Star Wars ships that are already put together and detailed, there are the X-Wing miniatures game pieces. I recently got the Millennium Falcon and Slave-1 just because I like how they look, and I don't even play the game. Yet. They're a little pricey, but they look pretty dang good.
I liked the visual storytelling in Rey's silent opening, like the shot of her watching an old woman cleaning scavenged parts
Rey's opening lines are still fuck terrible
I liked Ford's performance even more than last time
I liked Finn even more than last time, he's the break out for me. Rey I can take or leave. Finn gets a full character arc
Kylo taking off his mask is the true midpoint of the film. He's much weaker and more prone to failure with it off.
Han may have known what Kylo was going to do, and helped him anyway. That may, in fact, have been the point.
They leant hard into Kylo being badly fucked up going into the last fight. It's not a surprise that Rey punked him, he was really messed up
The only big "blerf" moment for me this time (I didn't care about the hyperspace stuff a second time round) is Han shooting the bowcaster. They've been partners for thirty years, he would have tried the bowcaster by now.
I caught Poe shooting all the ships this time. Great shot.
The First Order is still underdeveloped but I didn't care as much because I'd filled in the blanks through outside material. This is called Cheating.
The Raid guys definitely are not shown to die
The nurse who treats Chewbacca is awful. I'm pretty sure this was her Make A Wish.
Rey igniting the lightsaber is even better the second time round
The new deathstar is still dumb and should still have been cut completely out of the film.
Rey is kind of good at everything if you're watching for it. She even speaks Wookie. She fucks some stuff up though! And she has poor social skills!
The last lightsaber fight is good, but not one of the best. It's neither as flashy and technical as some of the prequel fights nor as emotionally charged as Empire or Jedi. It's solid, but I don't see myself wanting to watch it over and over on DVD.
Han may have known what Kylo was going to do, and helped him anyway. That may, in fact, have been the point.
On my second viewing I noticed that while Kylo hands it to Han in a perpendicular fashion, once the light of the sun goes out and he decides to turn it to kill Han, there is a visible struggle between them in the next shot of the lightsaber, as Kylo fights to turn the lightsaber to face Han's torso.

That's their website. When I actually see some Rey merch in stores, I'll ease up on them.
Well, that was unexpected.
Rey merch is currently under extremely heavy demand, with sources saying that all the main characters were produced with roughly equal amounts of merch. There is a real scarcity issue because Rey is getting bought out.
I think I need to explicitly know what exactly you're trying to prove before I can dive into this issue any further.
Enjoying it more, but man, I can basically see the author leering at his female characters based on his descriptions
It's kind of grossing me out

They closed down the one near me, sadly
I mean I guess actual Disney World is like, 45 minutes away but
I always liked seeing the big Disney Store in the middle of the mall

Good, yes. This is what I want (so long as they make more so I can buy them).
Maybe if I work out more?

I'd settle for having anything that isn't a Jabba figure.
Oh, you meant action figure.
Not sure you have a figure at all, force-ghost.

yeah
this is a bummer
I want a Finn!
Sometime between the ages of 14 and 16 I got rid of all of mine and never looked back.
I can't get my mind around them anymore.
Yknow what weirdly made me like them again
Having a window sill at work to put em on while I work
In comparison the Darth Vader is like one of the best action figures of that scale made. Dude has all cloth capes and robes and a real metal chain around his neck in addition to his helmet coming apart in the two pieces like in the movies.
I have a few figures out on top of my movie shelf.
most of them are my brother's though.
Really just the Macfarelane Toys Dragon and the Undead Rogue from WoW are mine.
I do like the models, but those are more hands on I think in that you put them together and they are suuuper pose able.
Yeah I loved having figures on my desk when I had an office, but now I lack an office and thus my figures are in a dresser.
Luckily that is super easy to do with just a facet.
