"Rooting for the bad guy" is not an crazy uncommon thing to do.
But you communicated that opinion in the least clear (and most snarky) manner possible.

I mostly got irritated with the whole "we killed our mother" angle in Avatar, when the Gaia-esque entity on Pandora is literally a planet-wide intelligence.
I've been playing a lot of Galaxy of Heroes; it's shockingly engaging? Even when I hit a slump and don't want to play, i'll check in every day and do a challenge or two and then surprise earn some really cool shit and want to keep playing.
It has light card game aspects that I enjoy.
Also I had no idea that the most powerful character in the Star Wars universe was First Order Tie Fighter Pilot™
I've been having a lot of fun with it, I play it most nights as part of my pre-bedtime wind down. I'm surprised at how much strategic depth there is to it - picking the right characters and prioritising who to attack first is actually pretty dang important!
Also yes every time I have the option to select the First Order pilot as an ally I'm like AWWW JEAH.
Is that the guy in the black armor? I think I have him but haven't bothered to level him yet.
Dark Side:
HK-47, Dooku, Nightsister, Savage Opress (god I hate that name), and Poggle the Lesser (with Ventress as a back-up)
Light Side:
Jedi Counselor, Fives, Clone Trooper, Lumira, and Clone Wars Chewbacca (with Poe as a back-up)
I'm about to get Sidious and am building up Qui Gon and IG-86, but should I spend more time on the Tie Pilot?

Fair point. I'll replace the words good guy with protagonist, as I think that presents him as the core of the movie for me without suggesting that he has the moral high ground within the story

I still can't get over how stupid it is for a battle mech to have a sheathed knife on the mech's "belt".

For Dark Side you will want to get the Genosian Soldier who has a ridiculous critical chance and burst damage. He also happens to be easy to get, being that you get shards for him in the very first mission in the squad missions.

Avatar was a lovely, well-made film that proved that "po-faced morality tale" is a poor vehicle to set up a vibrant shared universe. Nobody wants to play in that setting.
Imagine manufacturing huge knives, like you work in a warehouse that ships and receives huge knives for the robot suits
They're not assembled either, the warehouse is all components, dozens and dozens of pallets of huge knife handles, huge knife handguards, huge sheaths and huge knife maintenance kits

I have zero idea how you can see him as the protagonist but eh
I've already spent too much time thinking about Avatar for 2016

I have him and started leveling him before I got IG-86. Maybe I'll put some points in him and create a super droid/Genosian team with Poggle, Genosian Soldier, IG-86, HK-47, and a Magma Guard.

Why not build it right into the arm though?

your favorite character is not automatically the protagonist
that is not how narrative works
Just to be clear
I do not actually think that Miles was the main character of the 2009 Film Avatar, and I do accept that Jake Sully went on a heroic journey and should be recognised as the protagonist, even if it was in my own opinion a far duller heroic journey then it was intended to be.
I also do not actually think that there is nothing quite as thrilling as galactic politics, but it's the thread title anyway because it was an interesting discussion point from the last thread

Because the designers knew that the marines picked up some sweet knife tricks at the academy and wanted their robots to be able to do them in the same kinda way

Yeah if anything the part of that movie that made no sense to me was why somehow creating genetic hybrids of humans and aliens and inserting people's consciousness into their empty brains was somehow easier or better than just using like, gas masks and robot suits and such

It would make some degree of sense if this was a "first contact" sort of scenario. But it's not, so :?

They needed it so generic actor man could have a romance with giant goofy looking cat smurf and have it be slightly less awkward.
It would've been a lot more interesting if the movie had played with the idea that maybe what the protagonist of avatar actually cared about was not being a cripple, and he was willing to betray his own side because he was a former tough military guy who couldn't face the idea of going back to just being a guy in a wheelchair again. He doesn't love whatsherface so much as he loves taking on a new identity and new body where it's a possibility at all.
He can still be on the side of the good guys, but maybe not for a good reason to start with.

I feel like if Avatar had more silly details like the duplo robot knife and 'unobtanium' it would've been a better movie
instead it combines some attempt at moralizing sci-fi with pulp imagery and loses the strengths of both and ends up being hella racist

First Order Tie Pilot (FOTP) is the strongest dude in the game if you can get him to 7*. I have him at 2 and he'll probably be nerfed long before I can farm him up. Right now my arena team is Phasma, Poe, Sidious, Luminara and Rey. Rey hits like a fucking truck. I'm working on Kylo Ren (just unlocked him), but I may switch over to Geonosian Soldier.
High stared leia is the most powerful unit in the game, if the enemy doesn't kill her first round she can decimate you with repeat crits per turn.
The AI blows her first action on the stealth, though, when it should just get to killing. For the most part all she does is get the kill shot on my Poe, who is disposable. When I see a high-starred FOTP it's with a Geo Soldier and Phasma, so by the time they both move I'm usually down one person and hurting on another (unless Poe goes first).

So are they going to add more characters to Galaxy of Heroes at some point
Because you can only have one of a character on a team and the Jawa Chief and Poggle the Lesser both have abilities that only sync with one other character
At least guys like Lobot sync with something like "droid" of which there are more than one in the entire game

That was a lot of fun! We're taking a break, but then we're going to jump right into the advanced rules.
