I'm a little anxious about this. They say the scale is finalized, but I can't any pictures of the new CAT. How do I know that they somehow didn't make things worse?
I'm saving it for last. The only thing that makes that one tolerable is running with a group of other lights. At least the -3S and -3M I occasionally can do something even when off on my own, that one just is useless.

There's no pictures because the work is literally not done yet. Saying the scale is approved just means "it should be *this* big, OK? OK."

The 3V before quirk changes was pretty fun. 2MPL in the CT made it a fun mech to pilot around and take out back armor.
So I put two UAC5's on my IV-Four and upped my ammo to maximum capacity. This thing dumps shots so fast its criminal.... Except when it jams every time
3 seconds into uac and chill and he gives u this look
Check your config and make sure you have tap-rack-bang bound to something.

Where do I find that in the mechlab? This UI is terrible~
So I ripped the SRMs off the Quickdraw 4H and put it on ER Large Laser duty. The two lasers in the arms are great for creating your own personal 1km UAV no-fly zone.
The 5K is now sporting a Std 300 and 6 Medium Pulse Lasers which are making me a lot happier. My only question is whether the Std engine is worth the lower speed. I may end up slapping an XL340 on it for more heat sinks and jump jets.
I like the burst on the IV-Four with two UAC5's, but these things jam constantly. Often I'll only get my first four shots off before getting locked down to two Medium Lasers. When they don't lock up, stuff just melts. I'll often come running through a brawl on cleanup duty finishing off two or three mechs in a row. What I wouldn't give for a UAC5 jam reduction module. I guess I need to chainfire with my primary group (which refuses to let you double tap for some reason) and then have a second fire group for when I want to dump.

Just make sure S.P.O.R.T.S. isn't selected , adds 30 secs to the process for no reason.

The QKD-IV4 is much better with standard AC5 than UAC5. The firing rate is almost the same because of the quirks and you have no fear of jamming. Some people even use an XL engine to equip 2x AC10 and just put a serious hurt on stuff.

You can turn your UAC5's into regular AC5's with chainfire, I'm just greedy. I switched away from regular AC5's because I couldn't use the ammo fast enough. AC10's are really attractive, but I don't like the sacrifice in speed the extra weight requires, or dropping the energy weapons for chasing away lights. I just have to get more familiar with when to unload the UAC's and when to stay more conservative.
For every jam I get, I also get a rampage where I cut through at least two mechs in a row. Its a roll of the dice I'm willing to live with (and then complain about on the internet)
Someone last night said to post a SS of me surviving the match in my ultra crab at only 17% health.

I still don't know how you managed that. Each of those exposed locations has to be a gopher's fart away from falling off your 'Mech.
And you have no, no idea how tempted I was to take an SRM-16 love-dump on you there at the end of the match. My finger was on the trigger. It was tempted, and my resolve to not team-kill almost wavered.
But I loves me a Padre too much, and that screenshot was worth it.
but that was in CW, on attack, so it eventually had to die as it wasn't my last mech. Lasted for a disturbing amount of time, and delt out some significant damage at that state, too, before it fell.

I think I got down to 16% in an XL Quickdraw Saturday. Turns out you can tank a lot of fire when you are outside everyone's optimal. Every panel in my torso was down to red internals.
P.S. My favorite mech in the Quickdraw dropdeck is the Battlemaster
The jester, like all cats, is too big for what it is right now.
That might change with the remodel. It will be a good mech by IS standards if they shrink it to a reasonable size. A great one by IS standards if they ever give us proper jump jets again.
The whole poptart/jumpjet nerf thing would have never happened if they had just implemented jumpjets with forward thrust. Make them launch you at a 45 degree angle forward and upwards, so you can actually clear the 120m that loadout is supposed to be able to clear.
Man if it wasnt for people reposting it to the forums I would never find out about most of this stuff.
2/4 are easy for me, Fire Moth and Viper, as they're the only two frontline Invasion (TRO: 3050) 'Mechs we're missing. Conveniently, a light and a medium.
He said he thinks "totem" mechs like the Kodiak would be better alone. So are the clans all shaman in the lore?
Hmm...I hadn't noticed that about the naming schemes before, but it makes a bit of sense. Foxes, Adders, Cheetahs, Stormcrows, (Mad) Dogs, Jaguars, Timber Wolves, (War)hawks, Dire Wolves...bit of a theme going on there.

that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat

Pig hit it on the nose, regardless.

Idk, game's been getting consistently better, so, yes?

They're the minds that that brought us positive quirk Arctic cheetahs.
Armchair: 4098-3704-2012
Cheetahs are in a pretty good place right now, imo.
Don't forget tweaks to CW drop decks that allow for 3 Timber Wolves rounded out with an Arctic Cheetah.
I'd say the game was in a better place around this time last year, than it is today.

Lowest I've been is 7% in a thunderbolt.

definitely jester, definitely BJ-3, which leaves 150 tons of other stuff. It's hard to make an IS deck without any assaults, anymore
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
thunderbolt and battlemaster
boom
Best dropdeck.

Four Clan mechs, eh? How about either: Cougar, Viper, Nova Cat, Kodiak; or, Incubus, Shadow Hawk IIC, Black Python, Marauder/Warhammer IIC

KODIAK
no, but each clan has their own sort of unique designs. Ghost Bear has the Kodiak, Jade Falcon the Turkina, etc
To expand on this (since I just noticed the phrase when looking at the Nova Cat for Clan...well...Nova Cat): http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Totem_BattleMech
Hey, now there's an idea: Totem Packs for IS and Clan!

but the dragonfly is bleh as a mech design
Remember, this is MWO we're talking about here:
