Red Sox

So the Sox are playing the Rays the day before the show starts. It's a day game with a 1:35 start time. Anyone interested in checking out Fenway Park? I know I am.

I am not a huge baseball fan but I do enjoy going to games in person. I went to Mariners games both times I went to PAX Prime and they were pretty fun, so I'd love to go to a Red Sox game.

I might be interested in this Thursday game against the Rays, but it's going to be based on A) When we arrive in Boston on Thursday and B) How many of my 7 friends want to go. I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if a group does develop, though. We were thinking of doing a tour of Fenway but I'd rather go to a game if we're able to.

I will say that going to a Red Sox game is a really cool experience, as it's a super old ballpark and everyone there is generally PUMPED to see the Sox. It also is usually sold out, so it's always a full crowd. Try to get the tour too, it's pretty neat.

I'm flying in on Wednesday so I would definitely be interested in going to a Sox game. Wish it was against the O's but I'll settle for just watching a game at Fenway

I'm flying in Wednesday from Tampa. Definitely hitting up Fenway Park. Huge Baseball Fan, best thing is I get to Watch my Tampa Bay Rays. Last Year was my 1st time to PAX East and to Boston. I didn't do much site seeing since I manage to get tickets the week before. Definitely planning out this one a lot better.

Single game tix are on sale and I got mine, sitting along the third base line. Prices are all over the place so you should be able to find some in your budget. Hope to bump into some of you there.

Also, If you're a student in University or HS, you can google "student Red Sox tickets" and actually get a link to $9 standing-room-only tickets for ANY home game (you'll need to being your student ID of course)

Wear my Yankees hat every time I go to Fenway, am never disappointed. Snuck that thing on field when doing the anthem once.

I used to work at BU right around the corner from the park. There are a bunch of bars in the area - the easiest ones near/on Yawkey Way are Boston Beer Works, Game On, and the Cask'n'Flagon - but they'll all be crowded on game days, even for a 1:35pm game. The Yard House is about 5 mins up the road and is another option, but tends to be a little pricier. There's also a dive bar in Kenmore Square (~5 mins away) called Cornwall's, which is a cheaper option and is usually not too crowded.

The Pour house near Hynes isn't that bad either. a few blocks more of a walk though

Cornwall's is great. They even have a (very limited) selection of board games to play while you drink!

We will be in that area too. Not even really a baseball fan but games at Fenway are always a blast!

I'll be solo in Boston, so if someone wants to take in a game and have some drinks on Thursday I'd totally be down. I haven't seen a Sox game in a couple of years. They're always a blast though.

I'll be there with a friend! Can't think of a better way to start PAX weekend.

  • Jubes2681Jubes2681 Registered User regular
My husband and I will be there along the third base line! This will be the first of hopefully many games this year, since Big Papi is retiring and I want to see Ortiz hit a few more home runs in person.
