On the screenshot from my earlier post up the page, up above the flowchart, there's two buttons. One has doors and takes you to door view, one has a flowchart and takes you to flowchart view. Switch back and forth at will, my son.
So I decided to run the daily update cause I needed a couple more Major Power Orbs to finish off Full Break rank 2. Last stage I get 2 major pots on one run. Both dropped Major Orbs. Both were Power. I should have bought a lottery ticket instead. Still Full Break rank 2 is super nice especially since it lets me use power orbs for anything else.
How is it that this flowchart thingy has never come up before now? Why haven't we been talking about it? I wasn't even aware it existed. Then Rius posts a screenshot and I assumed it was a preview of a "coming soon" feature. Then my mind is blown when I find out it has already been in the game for like 2 months.
You need to listen to Dr. Mog more! Pretty sure one of the many tutorial-screens-upon-first-entering-menus post UI-update mentioned that little (not so little) button.

Not only that but it was talked about in here as well, which amounted to "Yeah this is awesome"
There isn't much to discuss about it, it's pretty much objectively better.

Tauntalitate is king for the FFX bonus battles. Just one shot Ultimate Seymour, he's decently nasty though. Phase one he doesn't do anything too painful, particularly if you tauntalitate, except for cross cleave from Mortiorchis. You don't need too much mitigation there, I'd save wall and hastega charges until he does his first ultimate dispel at 75% or so. This is a good time to aim for target conditions, such as slowing mort and poisoning or sapping seymour.
Phase 2 starts getting bad though, he has gravija which is somewhere in the ball park of 50% of your current life on the whole party. And he has multicast elemental spells and aoe elemental spells, which are a problem since you just got ultimate dispelled. Phase 3 is more of the same, but he ultimate dispels you again at 50% or so, he reflects himself and bounces flare, and mort does total annihilation. Total annihilation is a lot harder to stop in the ultimate fight than other versions of seymour flux, as it does the warning that it will do annihilation, then immediately does it on the next turn with not much time in between. The jerk did it pretty much as fast as possible after ultimate dispelling me, and didn't have too much time to get SG and shellga back up.
AOE is really nice for this fight, since when mort gets to 0 HP it drains 9999 HP from seymour, so AOEs make it pretty easy to effectively break the damage cap when you kill mort repeatedly.
Party as follows:
Auron lv 64 -- R5 retaliate, R4 draw fire, RM dragon's det, 3++ RS sword and atk gear
Red lv 78 -- R3 Magic BD, R2 full break, RM mako might, lunatic high
Tyro lv 77 -- R3 shadowsteel, R5 tempo flurry, RM Dr. Mogs, SG, wakka's ball
Vivi lv 65 -- R2 meteor, R4 ruinga, RM vow of vengence, doublecast meteorite
Lenna lv 79 -- R4 curaja, R2 shellga, RM double hit
Stupid Photon Sprayer has a ton of DEF and RES. Undead one is easier because Diaga will hit for 10k.
Also don't forget to take protectga and power break to Yojimbo even if Tauntilate allegedly protects you.
Tauntilate protects shit. I'd swear by the angry RNG gods that he just spams AoE Wakizashi if you put it up. Literally, first three tries, he opened up by using it three times in a row, making me check to see that he actually has other attacks. Missed mastery by one medal once I finally got a decent go that didn't involve either a triple use at some point, opening crit death, or slipping into a gap. Didn't see a Zanmoto even once in about a dozen tries though.
So I went into Yojimbo with a pretty okay team. One fatal flaw. I forgot my Christmas Candle on Yuna, and I don't have her natural medica relic, so then when Yojimbo proceeded to chain cast Wakizashi literally every turn, I was hurting from all that AoE and wishing for a medica pretty badly.
I quit out, picked a Hymn of the Fayth RW (gotta keep it thematic) and went back in. Also equipped Christmas Candle. Those were my only two changes. Cleaned his clock. He still cast Wakizashi literally every fight, but with the regen from Hymn, plus actually having some AoE heals, I was able to make it through with mastery.
Any tips for the 120 boss? The Mime? I didn't really change much in my lineup yet. I was gonna bring a Wall RW, but beyond that I don't have much of a plan beyond "beat him down."
Edit: I'll probably dump Yuna and bring Lenna as my WHM since I've got Princess's Favor for her. Sorry Yuna. I love you, but without Hymn you're kinda stuck on the JV squad.
Hmm. Maybe I'll try it without retaliate, but throw a taunt on Cecil. He's already on the squad. I can just drop Armor Strike and throw on Draw Fire instead. And then try my normal non-retaliate strategy.
I was so happy with the Exdeath event. I didn't have to resort to retaliating even once.
It was the Ultimate Seymour fight that you guys were saying Kimhari was good for, right? (With Mighty Guard)? I've got it, so if that's the fight ya'll were talking about I might give that a try. (When I get there.)
I dropped 15 on the new banner. Was hoping for Hymn of Hope but sadly all I got was a bunch of garbage.
That was 15 more than I was planning on spending. I made that banner pull on a whim, trying to keep Yuna relevant. Alas. It was not to be. And now I have 15 less mithril to spend on Ramza and Agrias.

For the +++, tauntalitate is extra good because one of his physical attacks can berserk you, which is bad when combined with the requirement to have defend up to avoid dying from glyph mine. Everything he does other than glyph mine is single target physical.
Don't know if MG works for gravija or not, but it should probably work for Total Annihilation. Seymour does have other magic attacks that will eat the MG dodges, so if you use it you would need to have good timing/luck on it.
The AI's been datamined, and looks like you can't really stop total annihilation in this version of Seymour, and it goes off on a fixed schedule. The best you can do is slow it down by slowing mort.
Ultimate Seymour down. Probably one of the easiest ultimate encounters so far. Took the set up from Reddit.
RW: Hymn of the Faith
Auron had 425 atk, doing about 4k per hit fully buffed
RNG to watch for: Cross Cleaves before 50%, Sap/slow not landing
On my successful run, I managed to get hit by just one Cross Cleave and Gravija before 50% hp, which I healed up with Hymn. AoE heal probably is the most important ability before 50%, just to keep your party healthy in case of any AoE after that point. He gets to 50% surprisingly quick and I just queued up SG and Shellga right after Ultimate dispel. After that, he just hits himself to death while sapped (about 3k per tick). Totally ignored Mortiorchis. Flare is a joke.
These bosses that take two status ailments to get mastery sure are great. Wait no, what's the opposite of great?
Won, despite poor RNG causing a few resets (how does slow not stick after 8 hits of tempo flurry AND two hits from delay attack is beyond me). My set up required the middle phase to be perfect and I got really lucky with my medica charging right after a gravija. Others have posted better set ups so I won't bother. I used advance which in the end really wasn't needed, and in the first half not even desired.
If you can get perfect on every other aspect of the round, then you can just skip one status effect. Heck you can probably skip both, but I don't actually know how tight the medal count is.
Really it's just the 1 round, 1 fight stages usually associated with the + bosses where medal requirements are important.

Yeah... that's actually what I ended up doing on Spectral keeper when slow didn't stick there. My own fault there, no reason I didn't bring slowga to just ensure it. Not really an option for an Ultimate fight though.

Did a 100 gem pull hoping for Lullaby Rod. Got Shiranui. I don't know, I guess?
Is there a trick to getting retaliates to bounce onto Seymour? It seems like my retaliates are always hitting the Mort-thingy. This fight seems really easy. I've gone the distance with him. but my problem is that I'm not getting enough damage on the body and I'm running out of hones.
If I can't get this full retaliate build to work I might make a couple substitutions and bring a mage and a spellblade or something.

It could be worse.
edit: I'm on fire tonight. Went into spectral keeper with exact same team as Yojimbo. Did not bring slow. Will do again.
edit edit: Dropped a Major Power Orb. I guess that's a good consolation prize. I've never had a boss drop a major orb before.

Bring someone with Retaliate + Loner RM
Bring a BLM who can use Break
Bring Yuna
Retaliate,
Break Yuna
Break the BLM
Use Advance, refresh Retaliate every 2nd round.

++ a normal team worked. Double mitigate, double break his defense, go to work.
+++ I'm gonna bring out Gilg. Death to clowns.
How does this keep happening.
RNG.

Finally won't have to bring in my FFV gaia gear shared medica to every ultimate.
All that's left now is drawing a wall in the SSB fest.
From the strategies I've been seeing, Auron is super useful for this event.
Tidus - Boost/Tempo Flurry
Auron - Draw Fire/Retaliate
Yuna - Valefor/Alexander
Lenna - Shellga/Curaga
Red XIII - Full Break/Venom Buster
RW - Sentinel's Grimoire
Seemed really easy to me, Total Annihilation wasn't even doing more than 1k damage.
Of course I did need 6 Venom Buster uses to poison him, at which time he was at about 15% hp.
Sure got a lot of mileage out of that poison
The SB for the sword isn't great, but, yeah, Auron dragged my ass through all the battles.
EDIT - Oh, wait, Shirnaui is the better one, Dragon Fang is the eh one.
If I can't get this full retaliate build to work I might make a couple substitutions and bring a mage and a spellblade or something.
