How do you scan things? I realize this may be a super dumb question, but I can't say I've ever had a popup thing telling me "Press button to scan object"

You buy scanners from the market, equip them in the loadout screen, and then use the Q radial menu to actually equip it in the missions

Oh my stars. Valkyr and her Jet Kitty are here to murder everyone and their loved ones. And they're all out of everyone.

The black and candy red is perhaps a bit much. What if I went for something warmer?

    Augh fuck why

    9M3ODQT.jpg

There! A nice, respectable, not plainly just been skun and hung out to dry, blue. Which I'm totally not using, because "Augh fuck why" is a perfectly legitimate fashion statement when you're in the business of murder.

Valkyr is soooooo much fun! The zipline is comical whether I'm yanking things or on my way to collide with the skybox, Warcry is nuts, and Hysteria brings to mind a good Khornate war chant. I've not experimented much with the stun, but it appears to function as advertised. Most definitely a kit I enjoy.

Yeah, it just seems so clunky. Is there any way to assign it some kind of hot key?

So, what's a good secondary weapon that isn't an ammo-devouring bullet hose, but also has little to no risk of me accidently blowing myself up with it?

Right now the only two secondaries I have that I feel are worth a damn is a Dex Furis and an Angstrum. Dex Furis is nice for most shorter missions, but defenses and survivals and I'm running out of ammo long before I'm done. My Angstrum is my baby when I'm fighting with a frame that prefers to stay at range, but I can't really use it vs. Infested or with someone like Valkyr unless I'm ok with occasionally killing myself. I've recently made an Atlex and have been leveling it. It's been pretty good, but I'd prefer something that fires a little bit faster without consuming ammo like crazy for those more hectic missions where I won't have the time to make sure every shot counts.

Maybe you'd enjoy the Sonicor? Ragdolls for the god of Ragdolls!

I haven't baked it yet. I should. It looks hilarious. The Staticor is a radiation funtime spam weapon, if you prefer your victims not strewn across the map.

In more desperate news, I have noticed that I am still running a damaged Flow mod. This is an awful, awful thing.

The Marelock and Atomos are both good. The Marelock has great single target damage and good range, and the Atomos is like a mini Amprex.

Good news, it already is! The gear slots are by default bound to 5 through = or whatever on your keyboard. It starts with the topmost slot and works clockwise. Personally I actually leave the top slot blank, to keep a key of separation between the nuke button and gear.

Also, if you want to avoid the whole having to pay for the scanner indefinitely, you can visit the Sanctuary on the Tenno relays and start taking missions for Simaris. He has a special scanner you can buy, which works exactly like the default one you get at the regular market. However, you can buy an upgrade for that one that gives it unlimited charges.

Actually, there isn't a default key for gear, you have to set them yourself.

I think you have to be mastery rank 2 or 3? Then go upstairs in the relay and get the quest from Cephalon Simaris

edit: nope, I am wrong. You must be mastery rank 5 and first complete the Stolen Dreams quest before you can do Simaris' quest, The New Strange. You can start the Stolen Dreams quest from the codex once you hit MR3

But, you can work on the community synthesis targets the moment you hit a relay, from console on the left of Simaris. Pick a target, and the next time you're in a mission where that enemy can spawn with synthesis scanners in your inventory, you should get a notice about a target being on the map. Even though it takes 10 targets to finish one, you normally you want to do only one or two a day since you'll max out on the daily faction cap by then. The reward from the daily, however, does not count towards that cap, so you should do them all even if you are no longer getting faction with each target.

    So, another question

If I add an elemental damage mod to a weapon, that does increase it's damage, right?

Like, my sword will always do electrical damage on swing, but it won't always proc the "lightning stun effect". Is that correct?

Yup, unless it's status chance is at or above 100%, then it'll always proc one of your damage types' effects. I don't know if it's an equal chance to proc any of your damage types, or the damage type that's the highest, or what, but it will proc SOMETHING

A question to the experts here:

I have a Latron, and a Tiburon blueprint with the rest of the mats to craft it.
I am unable to (natively) buy and equip the Tiburon from the Arsenal or Market, because I don't have a high enough rank.

If I craft the Tiburon, will I be able to use it?

I don't think the weighting runs exactly like that, as PIS stronger weighting vs elemental, such that it'd only be slightly more likely to proc the corrosive.

If you had over 100% status chance then you'd at most do 2 procs off a hit too or something (edit: with multishot...it's weird).

Attacks made through that barrier he summons gain electric damage. Warframe abilities in general also have high or guaranteed chances of procing a status effect.

I got my systems the first time a did a low level spy. It made me think the rest would be easy...

now I'm farming the spy missions of Ceres and Pluto for the ~30th time for the main BP, after doing as much mid-level spy for the chassis. On the bright side, all the credit reward caches, on top of a 50 core reward from a sortie, meant I finally had the means to max out a Vitality mod.
