Bluh, decided to throw some forma at my archwing stuff because double affinity, it is a pain how the mods use generally low enough capacity that you need multiple forma to make room for one additional mod.
I don't even have enough mods on my Archwing stuff to use up my capacity...
Also, am I just a baddie or do the Hyenas in the alerts hit extremely hard? I'm getting one shot by what seems like random gunfire. It's not the fire stomp, that kills relatively slowly and it's easy to get out of, but they'll just show up or secretly be in the area and I'll randomly fall over constantly.

Hyena pb has pretty extreme firepower since it doesn't have an element to it, so it could be that

Bluh, 2 forma into elytron, 3 each into imp vandal and centaur. Not entirely sure why I did it, but it's done. Guess I should go get my free weapon slot from today's alert now.
It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.

I'm not totally sure, and I've done no googling to see how my observations stack up to real data, but...
Volt's passive, where you charge up a damage bonus as you move, and expend it like static electricity on your next damage action, seems to give extra damage to the volt speed syndicate mod, but does not remove the buff.
It seems to just stay at 1k, while I murder as I speed past level 28+ enemy's in these invasions I'm doing.
Normally it only kills on contact with very low level enemy's.
Anybody know anything about that?

I know I probably want to play around being the Murder Flash before they fix it is what I know
I tried out the Mag build suggested earlier but could not get a read on it. I thought I would try it out in the higher level defense missions as part of the alert. I cast it on the hyena enemies but could not get consistent results. Sometimes there was no explosion at the end of the move. And I never noticed a big increase in the damage they were taking. But it was pretty damn chaotic so I may not have been paying enough attention.
Edit: I am talking about bullet attractor.

I can't imagine not soloing Spy missions
They're nice and relaxing
They're so much faster if people in the group can actually do them. But well...
(Trying to pick up Thermite Rounds and Rime Rounds since I've decided on a Torid to upgrade from the Soma.)
I pubbed the spy sortie today, it took a few attempts, but once we had a third person that ran Loki was like, all 3 things got capped almost at the same time goodness.

I may need a hand doing a Spy mission myself. There's that story mission where you have to grab three intels from a Corpus base - miss any one and it's over. I just tried it twice and screwed it right at the end of the second.
No rush or anything. My heart's practically beating out of my chest right now so I need to calm down before I try again.

if I haven't sold them, I probably have roughly ten thousand of those from trying to get Ivara parts
Are you on PC?
I am on PC. HopelessDreamer is my IGN.
Mind, I need Ivara parts also (or frankly most of the Spy rewards), so theoretically I will get useful things even if I don't get the Mods I'm specifically going for.

Well I'm heading to bed just now, but if you don't have them tomorrow I'll see about tossing a couple your way.
And I got to see it second-hand. I think it's time to replace my Braton... with what, though, I haven't a clue.
What MR are you? If you're MR3, the Drakgoon is available if you have shotgun envy.

There's also the Karak, if you prefer the assault rifle approach and/or wanna try out a space-AK47. It's not top tier, but it's a good weapon for newbies, and an upgrade over Braton.

And when you get to MR5, there's the Tonkor! Tonkor is love, Tonkor is life. I got mine 6-forma'd over the weekend, and hoooo booooy. I will never not love this gun.
Having played a bunch more over the weekend, I finally discovered what the Valkyr nerfs do. Sadly, the new mechanic that incrementally ramps the energy cost of Hysteria over time really takes a crowbar to Valkyr's kneecaps. I'm finding it hard to sustain Hysteria for more than minute or so of clock time (I'm also not perfectly Mod'ed, which doesn't help). Which, if I guess DE's plan was to balance it downward, mission accomplished. It's gone from being an "I win" button to an "I need to survive the next ten seconds and clear some space" button. It's still really good, it just needs you to be selective with its application.

I've never put in the hours necessary to master spy missions, so I'm gonna be honest here; usually I just hold up 10 seconds after everyone loads in and let people who know what they're doing have a head start.
Oh, I run towards an objective, and have clutched victory from the jaws of defeat a few times by hopping in at the last second when someone else screwed up, but my participation is usually based more on protecting those doing the work (if even necessary) and dropping my security alert halting air support (also if necessary), though admittedly I usually wait until at least the second (usually the third) data extract. Which is obviously less about the materials, because knocking a bunch out takes almost zero time or resources, more a matter of the 10 minute cooldown, so if I drop it on the first I can't do it on the second or third. If we're gonna fail early, might as well get it over with, I've had few experiences with a group where they had to be bought time on the first and then managed to go the distance.
Also had one really bad experience with a spy mission and underwater arch-wing'ing. Man that was a clusterfuck I don't ever want to repeat.
First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKER!
To be fair, being literally invincible for an indefinite amount of time is kind of broken.
Yeah, but the way warframe is balanced, you need to be that kind of broken to be good in the endgame.
This is the kind of thing I've been afraid of, and was hoping to ease into with choosing Valkyr as my ride of choice. Now that it's been taken down a peg, what other options are there for making the high-level content easier?
Not to say I'm giving up on my Valkyr, but I like options. I had one of the defense missions this weekend that a guy threw out a giant ice bubble that seemed real useful. Frost?

Only reason I went in with a group was because I thought it would be kind of dickish to drop them after joining for the first sortie mission. Though I could have solo'd that one as well, I wanted the extra XP.
I think I've done sharkwing spy like... once. I will need to try it again.
As for the endgame... there really isn't an endgame to Warframe, while players have an idea of what they feel endgame is, there functionally isn't one. I'd even go on to say that to have a discrete endgame in Warframe would be a bad thing.
DE's methodology with balancing is built around countering trivialization though.

Speaking of spy missions, I'm really confused by some of the Orokin moon spy mission rooms. One has like 3 rotating lasers, and above and below it are buttons to shoot to stop it, but I can't see how that has any effect on anything else. I've spent like 15 minutes trying to figure out where to go, before I think Warframe just kicked me out for taking too long.
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it. ~ Terry Pratchett

Yeah, that was pretty incomprehensible to me too. The design seems like it wants you to be in the past for that part, but you actually need to be in the present. There'll be a gap in the wall at the far corner of the room that'll let you get into that last sealed room, and from there there's another gap in the wall that will get you into the data vault.
Well, if they want to make the endgame stuff more challenging without making it frustrating, they would probably have massively overhaul a lot of their game. I wish that they would either do that or do nothing instead of making it challenging the easier and cheaper way of allowing it to be frustrating, but really reworking all the stuff they'd have to to do it properly would be really expensive, so I can't really blame them for not going with that option.

If you're only MR2, Karak+Hikou is actually a pretty solid loadout. Having a silent weapon is less necessary these days but still a nice to have.
Eh, it's only in the high level content range that offensive frames truly function like the glass cannons that they're intended to be, because only then does HP/Armor scaling allow enemies to become a tangible threat. By its very design, all of the endless missions should reach a point where the enemies will overpower you. That's the point of the scaling. The argument could be made that the curves could be smoothed more, but the whole "I don't understand why my 200HP character died instantly from a shot from level 100 Eviscerator shot, DE is horrible at balance" thing seems silly to me.
That said, the base rewards for higher level content should scale a little better than they do. Though the point of the endless missions seem to primarily be leaderboard chasing more than anything. The equalization there makes it so the player(s) for which wave 20 or 20 minutes are a struggle aren't massively left behind by the players for which wave 20 or 20 minutes are simply a pre-warmup, so I don't think they'll change it much (they have said they were going to change it some).
