Can't wait for IB to come back. I don't like it when people need to rely on me for more than one match or for something that can utterly fail, but I want to get my light up passed 307.

I don't think you need to worry about getting your light level that high.
Most of the last one I sat at 304 as were PAers and coming up against opponents with higher light levels didn't notice any real differences against others with the possible of exception of those right near 320.

...I just died to a freaking generic cabal shield hit because the physics went wacky and flew me up in the air so high I died.
And that's what I get for trying to do the 10,000XP without dying thing.
This happened to me last night as the final straw for my game time after trying to get the scent chest on my titan for too long.
however I was trying to get an angle to punch one to death, and it shield bashed me in mid swing and I just died. Game claimed it was "misadventure" so I just turned it off in disgust at the shitty physics.

You know how Taken shield dudes push you from like across the room? Well that was the less bullshit option compared to the original Cabal jerks. It's just their offensive power, occasionally physics guardians to death randomly.
Really it's the only way in which they're threatening anyways.
Thanks to @StaticValor and PSN - durhamben (don't see you on the spreadsheet) for joining my first time to lead a raid.
We took our time, but we got to Oryx with three new raiders, and three not-very-experienced raiders. Totem fight was one-shot, which was the highlight of the night for me. Warpriest went fast, and we had crazy DPS on the sisters. Ol' Golgy definitely took a long time, but I expected that, that's my least understood fight.
My goals for the raid:
- everyone understands the mechanics of the fights and gets a chance to try each role if time permits (check)
- everyone gets all five calcified fragments (check)
- everyone see all the secret chests (not quite, couldn't figure out how to get to the first maze pressure plate)
- have fun, no pressure (sounded like a check)
We ended without downing Oryx, but we are going to try to kill him Sunday or Monday. I hope all the new raiders are comfortable running King's Fall now and don't hesitate to jump on future raids or any other content. That was a big part of my goals for the raid.
Lessons Learned:
- Even if you're not the most experienced sherpa(tm) raider, step up and lead a raid, especially if there's a gap, such as right now with few Normal Mode raids and lots of new/returning Paxers.
- Whether you're leading or part of the group, be prepared: I had the maze and tomb ships printed out. Maze didn't work out so well but we knocked out the ships fast.
- Especially for a group that's not a "regular" group, getting the six players all in fireteam and starting the raid is going to take some time. Had a few no-shows (wihch is fine, it's just a game), a few reserves that jumped on different raids. Not much you can do about it, just be aware. - Relaxing and having fun no matter is a trait that really separates Paxers from everyone else. We had a "friend of a friend" who was not PA and had never grouped with PA, and he commented late in the game how impressed he was with the group, how there was no bitching and we pushed all the way to Oryx, with half our fireteam first time in KF. I was pretty proud about that; not every day you get some outside validation like that.
Looking forward to another successful raid tonight!
It is gorgeous in person! The generic Suros skin has engraved lettering, it's not just painted on. The entire thing is made out of wood and quite sturdy/heavy too.

Alright guys, which of these would you take out of the vault/get the year 2 version of as a primary first: Red Death, Mida, Bad Juju, or Hard Light? Looking at it primarily for PvE since I have my PvP stuff already. Hard Light looks extremely fun to use but I'm worried it doesn't stack up against the others.
Also, are sidearms viable in PvE now? It seems like shotguns got nerfed a bit since I was last on a few months ago.
Of those two options Bad Juju and Red Death are the best by far. Hard light is fun but impractical. Midas makes you fast, feels good to hit enemies with, but it doesn't supply as much immediate benefit as Bad Juju or Red Death, especially because those proc on kill, and you do a lot more killing in PvE than PvP.
Is it up for the week like IB or is it a longer event?
I wouldn't mind giving it a swing with some peeps when I'm not at work.
It's on every weekend but the map changes.
I'm always happy to do trials of people see me online. I'm not that great though because it is a very different style to how I play a bunch of crucible.

Right on... gotta find some free time on a weekend then!
God I wish TG weren't so ugly so I could actually use it.
Game keeps giving me 310 versions of it with nice rolls and I have to ditch them because nope, nothing can come between my Titan and being the prettiest!

Also ran on the wall to get the stinkchest.
I'm up to 31 fragments.
Also I'm at 293 light unless I equip the new gauntlets then I'm 294. But I prefer being defender in pve.
Anyone want to do the nightfall soon?
Is there any room for either of the PS4 PA clans?
It's faster to solo it now than it was to 3-man it back in the day.
Can you really solo Skolas down before the taint gets you or are you doing Warlock shennanigans?
...is there any problems Swords can't solve?
Dang, that filled up fast.
Pretty sure that @skyknyt left it open to anybody on the100 and not restricted to just PA members.
shit, I thought I clicked that. Sorry about that folks, if there are no shows tomorrow I'll be digging from the PA groups that's for sure.
