I fell off of cod after modern warfare 2. I thought blops 1 was awful. I got back in for a bit of advanced warfare since it felt almost as vital and new as modern warfare 1 and 2.
I played the blops 3 beta and it just felt like a half step backwards from aw. Plus the character stuff is confusing and irritating. And I've never liked blops' unlock system.
I haven't been on for a week or so, but I do play this on the PS4. My PSN is also Ketar. I should be playing again by Thursday night, and likely back to playing far too much as I was before. I also got temporarily eaten by SWTOR, and my wife has been demanding the television more lately, so...
The added third dimension definitely hurts me more than it helps me with my reaction times these days, but I still enjoy it overall. The specialist system seemed awful at first, but after getting used to it and trying out all of the different specialists' weapons and abilities, I like what it brings to the game. Some weapons or (especially) abilities are better for some game modes than others, but none stand out as absolute must-use. At worst each mode has at least a few options that are similarly useful, usually more than that. My only complaint is that I wish I could tie my specialist choice to my classes, and swap specialist when swapping classes mid-match. I can understand why that would potentially work very poorly though.
Most fun I've had with a CoD game in years though. I skipped AW, and didn't play that much of Ghosts. This feels a little bit fresher than CoD had for a while without any radical shifts, and it has one of the better overall map rotations of any CoD game imo. None of them are particularly amazing, but none are bad either. They've done a surprisingly good job of making it difficult to set up a serious nest for campers, at least without a number of people dedicated to camping a small area together to cover all approaches.
I've decided I like the Specialists, but I wish I could set, say Battery as my anti-drone class, and give her that grenade launcher, and have her with the armor power up as my capping B is crazy class

I didn't like all of the extra shit. I just wanted a good shooter with some good multi-player and to me they ruined it.
I am excited for the new Doom game.
I hope that comes out this year.
I hope they have some sick guitar riffs in it.

I'm not very competent with the cyborg parkour system, but it opens up a neat third dimension to the combat.
I couldn't get interested in AW for some reason.

I don't stay alive very long
I'm foolish and trying to play Ruin as though he were a Titan from Destiny. It doesn't work very well.
