I'm thinking about doing an entire rickman filmography run over the next month (as far as that's possible). But I also secretly want to just jump to highlights so I can get to watch Judas Kiss.

I was looking at the list and completely forgot Quigley Down Under happened. I love that stupid movie.
Holy shit are some really suggesting Men in Tights and Disney Robin Hood are bad films???
Not unless your definition of bad is second/third best depiction of a particular story.
Rickman's Sheriff is one of the best villains ever though, so I'm still inclined to say Prince of Thieves is the best of the three.
Just imagine if we had Rickman saying the Sheriff's lines from Men in Tights.

Disney's robin hood has a lot of problems
I think it's impressive that it manages to be really entertaining despite the fact that it has like three different plot arcs, none of which are really resolved, and that the end of the movie comes out of nowhere and doesn't really have anything to do with anything that happened up to that point (King Richard just...shows up?)
ultimately I think it's buoyed by the design of Robin himself, and by his VA's performance
ANYWAY
goddamnit I miss Alan Rickman already
thinkin' I'm gonna do a viewing of the Harry Potter movies pretty soon, maybe also Galaxy Quest

That happens as a resolution in at least two other Robin Hood movies too. I think the source material presents a real problem for script writers, although going off-piste hasn't worked that well either, historically.
Basically the best Robin Hood movie is actually The Court Jester.

Shit.. Tim Curry is british and 69 years old. Someone go check on him.
This was one of my first thoughts when the news broke. Seriously though, I'm finding this hard to deal with. Terry Pratchett, Christopher Lee, Leonard Nimoy, David Bowie, Alan Rickman... I'm outliving my heroes

That, or it was bad enough to be mathematically indistinguishable from nothing.

This one hits me hard, he's a major figure in my Christmas movie traditions with Die Hard and Love Actually
This is a goddamm tragic week
I mean, there's the Disney animated movie which is at least close to making it a three way tie.
Fuck it.

As is Kirk Douglas
This sucks.
Immediately thought you meant physicist Brian Cox and thought Jesus, he looks good for his age
I probably shouldn't laugh at this, but I'm gonna chalk it up to gallows humor.
Awful terrible fuck-it-in-its-eye cancer and death aside, this is a good goof.

I love Rickman but no way. Roger Rees was perfect in that movie.
