Super Smash Bros. 4 at PAX South Question

I was reading about the Super Smash Bros. 3DS tournament taking place on saturday, at 4 pm at PAX South. However, it didn't say much. Does the tournament allow amiibo fighters at all, or is it strictly real players? More insight would be appreciated. (This is also my first PAX event!)

    presumably it would have to be you playing. I think at east last year when i went, people organized an amiibo tournament in the freeplay area. you can see if somebody is doing that here, or organize it on your own.
