    Great work on those expressions once again!
    So who are SK and BD?

  • briguybriguy Registered User regular
    Enforcer Brian.
    Be a shame if something happened to those legs before you made it to the library.

    Great Kitty. I too wonder who SK and BD are. @Briguy?

    WHOOPS!!! This comic was supposed to go up Friday, but I screwed up the scheduling. Don't tell anyone! ;]

    @KatieJRice You are so fired.

  • briguybriguy Registered User regular
    SK+BD assuming name, going through potential names

    SK:
    Steve
    Steven
    Seventeen

    BD:
    Brian
    Braden

    That's all I can think of at the moment (tired, but I think I got all of the B and S names). But there's quite a few campers we don't have names for and the camp itself was previously abandoned so it could be from a past generation.

    @AdamRW and @KatieJRice:

    Please, don't fire each other! We need you guys!

    Sneaky kitty indeed. I was starting to think that it was caught off guard by the early posting and had missed its cameo.

  • LieutenantDanLieutenantDan Registered User regular
    @KatieJRice You guys *obviously* have time to make another strip each week. ;D

    SK + BD is probably a reference to Katie's other comic characters Skadi and Bushbeast Diseasoid. http://skadicomic.com/

    This makes sense.

    weren't there any better PR firms around? having a known non-bookreader as one of your spokespersons seems an especially egregious oversight by the HR department of said PR firm ... and I suspect she has never stepped inside the establishment being shilled, seeing that it has a well known paucity of sticks.

    I love this bit of whimsy, even if it did discombobulate my brain - I thought I had somehow sideslipped into Friday, especially as I had just read the expected update over on Skadi.

  • metfanscmetfansc Registered User regular
    I don't see a comic, was the Friday one posted early then removed?

  • PharylonPharylon Registered User regular
    Yeah, it's invisible now for some reason.

    It looks like the _advertising. in the filename may be hitting a default Adblock filter. Not sure if that's the issue or something else

    I hope I remember tomorrow is Friday and actually go into work.

    Thanks for reminding me to take adblock off for this site! I should have done it a long time ago but I forgot.

    Yeah, for all those having problems, just disable Adblock

    I keep hoping one of the campers says that Malachi's terrible jokes and constant talking drove people away from the library in the first place. Haha he's so oblivious.

    Great kitty hiding skills.

    I bet the book is upside-down :).

    Found the cat, you need a well calibrated screen to do it.

    HAH! Disable your ad-block to show this ONE strip about advertising!

    Brilliant!

  • R3testR3test Registered User regular
    The ads are playing videos with audio. This is exactly why I have adblock. You are encouraging its use by preventing it.

    I am 99% sure it's due to this particular comic being uploaded early.
    It's happened before. I don't think they are intentionally hiding the comic from Adblock users.
    Something with how they website is setup and works through PA is probably causing it.

    Oh, well... I was gonna say, that'd have been a really clever meta thing to do.

    Haha yeah.

    I was just thinking about the people mad about Adblock. I don't think they're intentionally trying to block them.

    Katie and I are not technologically savvy enough to do anything to anyone's adblock ever. And it's apparently something that people are very passionate about, so even if we did know how to screw with it, we never would.

    Add this line to your custom adblock filter list to prevent this from happening again.

    @ @||pa-cdn.com/camp/assets/img/katie/comics/

    (Remove the space between the two @ atpersands, I had to put that there so the second one would show up in this comment...)

    Thanks GIWAYUME. Worked like a charm. Thanks Katie for the comic and known it was not intentional.

    People, I know you all hate ads (I do too) but ads generate revenue, revenue that helps pay this bills for this website. It's a fact of life for any website these days.

  • K^2K^2 Registered User regular
    I've been able to navigate around adblock traps (intentional or otherwise) on most sites using dev tools. It's usually easier for me to disable a portion of the page script once per visit than mute annoying advertisements ten times. When I hear the word from the other side that people have learned to use only non-intrusive advertisements, I'll stop using adblock. It's an arms race, and it is unfortunate that people who deserve advertising revenue lose it as a consequence. But we didn't start this.

    I do strongly dislike audio or video advertising when I'm reading an article or looking at pictures, but if it comes up I either close the page or mute the tab.

    Personally, I don't want to use adblock. The way I see it, I'd be cheating people who make something I like and give it to me for free. Content creators getting some kind of compensation for their work is worth a little inconvenience on my end.

    I have disabled AdBlock for this website. I felt like it was the right thing to do... I may be a bit naive, but still. I can live with a few ads if it helps the creators!
