Now that PAX South is over, there's another thing coming up in April on the 16 & 17 in Houston called Japan Fest.

Apparently they're about to release a sake flavored kit kat. Sounds gross but I'll try it.
And you know what? All the dubs are AWFUL! So SUCK IT nerds!
I'm curious, is it mostly sitcoms or dramas?
All dramas, but some are those dramas with a dash of humor, like the CSI type stuff.
I don't really watch that stuff in Japanese or English though, so I can't actually say what the shows are, other than a lot of serious people saying serious things.
Although sometimes during the day you'll catch a rerun of Friends or Full House, and that's always good for a dumb laugh.
no anime
no anime, japan is fine, don't make me regret this
Rice balls
I posit that America would be better if rice balls were more widely available
Imagine it
You are late for a meeting and are hungry
So you stop by the store and grab a quick, portable fried chicken rice ball
What a beautiful world it would be
If the entire con was just about japanese dubs of shows I would be so happy
Like the steven universe thing whippy posted is amazing
You say that like it's a bad thing
I've never watched the original show, but this is a Good Dub.
Like I would be tempted to watch this just for the language practice.
They made Rachel sound 20 years younger and Monica 20 years older.

Don't you mean donuts?
Jelly donuts are my favorite!
Reminds me of the time I went to-
Ah you know what, this story violates the no anime rule
Dang it
Jelly donuts are good, but Boston creme is where it's at!
Mandarin is a language with practical applications for me because it's spoken by default by a ton of my wife's family
But Chinese media is terrible
French has a lot of cool books and some cartoons
Japanese has some stuff though, it sure do...
Like, early in my childhood, I watched All Dogs Go to Heaven dubbed in Cantonese. That's how the movie solidified itself in my head, so when I finally saw it in English, it was all super-weird for me.

Okay, I think I have to stop.
And not that anyone could really do Ledger's Joker voice justice, but his Japanese voice is soooo baaaad
I normally hate black tee shirts, especially the ones with a witty phrase in white writing on the front, because in my mind that kind of shirt tends to signal a very specific kind of "mean nerd" personality. Probably not entirely fair of me, but whatever.
But my sister got me this shirt for Christmas in 2014 and I felt guilty about not wearing it at all since then, and it has some color on it and anyways it's just community college so who cares, right?
Yeah, 3 separate people came up to me and asked if I knew where the anime club met. This was all before noon, while I was studying by myself on a corner sofa.
Never again.
