    Yes.

Sweet. Also I noticed that you can harvest sap from trees with these metal buckets hanging on them but they don't seem to be used for anything. Just more trash items like wild versions of crops I guess.

Talk to Zealot Ware in the Nucleus. He might show you how to make that sap useful, if you do something for him first.

Head over to Horizon Flight 1207. Its icon on the map looks like an airplane.

Bring either Old Longfellow or Dogmeat with you if you want some special dialog.

Actually, 3 units of that sap can be used to make a brew that gives you 100HP and removes 100 rads of radiation. You just need to complete the (very easy) quest from the guy who makes it.
It's Wade (or a similar name, can't be too sure now) at the Nucleus. He's worried about one of the other cultists who's basically going on a hunger strike until he has another vision or something. I passed a speech check and convinced him to be less crazy, and the guy gave me 3 brews and the recipe to make my own. It's really as simple as collecting 3 saps.

I'm going to finish up the rest of Far Harbour's quests before I have DiMA turn himself in to the townspeople, because as of right now only a couple of people side with me over that fucking blowhard Allen. At least I got to tell him to shut up, which was fun. Even Nick was waiting for someone to do that.

    Far Harbor is spectacular.

    However...

... swimming the depths surrounding the island is the most stomach-churningly horrifying experience I've had in video games, to date.

I don't think there's anything down there... but what if there IS??!?! I'm gonna convince myself that Bethesda wouldn't be so twisted as to put some fucking horrors in the water but then I'll be casually diving for loots and see a big fucking thing swim by and alllll the poop's gonna come out of me. All of it!

In all seriousness this Island is terrific. It has such a great old horror movie feel to it. So dark and bleak. I love it. 10/10. New gear is great, too.

For the most part I agree. Though, it feels like a missed opportunity to have implemented some underwater combat mechanics. It would have made the harpoon gun quite a bit more useful.

Sexbots would at least be a motive, and since people suck, I'm actually surprised that they don't even hint that some of that is going on (at least as far as I remember). What is confusing is that they're using gen 1's in scrub jobs where the only thing a gen 3 brings to the table is the desire to rebel, which really seems to fall into the bug, not feature, category.

That's my problem with the gen 3's

They've been upgraded way past the point of what the Institute wants to use them for, for the number of them they are producing. The danger of giving these machines emotions and an internal intellectual life is painfully obvious to even a non-expert. So you build some of them as proof of concept, maybe use some as specialized infiltrators. But they have gen 3's coming out of their asses. These people are legitimately dumber than Quarians and that's really saying something.

Well, unlike the quarians the institute does have simple phrases and such that can factory reset a Gen 3. If free will has a kill switch built in can they ever rebel in a serious way?

Certainly. I mean, yes there is a kill switch, but as far as I've ever seen it has to be spoken, and the speaker needs to not only specify the synth's alphanumeric designation, but also needs a command code. Try doing that with a hundred angry synths bearing down on you.

Well they do have voice recorders and PA systems. Seems like it would be pretty darn trivial have holotapes prerecorded or just stored on the servers where they could be broadcast whenever.

    Hmmm.

I do not understand how power armor, regular armor and normal special stats interact.

I've got the Strength perk at rank 10, so a base strength of 10.

With Grognak's outfit that should be 12.

And since I have all my power armor pieces painted with the "military" paint, I should get anothe 1 strength. It's only sitting at 12 however. No addictions, no effects except mole rat disease.

Yeah entering power armor nullifies any SPECIAL stats, damage resistances, and legendary effects on equipped armor/clothing. It's probably best to simply equip one piece of clothing if you are maining power armor to free up carry weight.

Clearly nudism is either so commonplace that it is not worth a mention (and you are just lucky/unlucky enough to never meet any naked people (except that one caravan guard i keep running into)), or it is so horrifyingly taboo that nobody can bring themselves to even aknowledge it once they see it.

I'm still traumatized from a Morrowind mod I tried way back in the day that had these sharks. Big sharks.

I'm very glad that Fallout has no water monsters and Skyrim has only nuisance ones (slaughterfish/mudcrabs).

I'd have nothing against water monsters, but i would demand the ability to fight while swimming (hated that in Skyrim).

I'm gonna try an unarmed build now

Basically I have the altitis and also I'm kinda curious

I just finished far harbor on my melee build and over the course of the dlc saw my character turn from a limp noodle into an unstoppable mirelurk queen one-shotting monster and my suspicion is that I just fucked that build up

Not enough starting strength, spent too many levels just trying to shore up weaknesses

So now I'm gonna try to see how fast I can get back to being a murder machine

Started with strength almost capped, luck 5, and just enough points to get demo expert asap and literally nothing else

I wanna be able to mine the fuck out a certain swan boat

    Don't.

Unarmed builds have the most boring gameplay you can imagine. You just punch, again and again, no strategy except walk up and punch.

The worst part? One of the perks increasing unarmed damage makes it so you have a decent chance of disarming someone when punching them. Which means the start punching back, and BLOCKING. And every goddamn thing in the wasteland can block punches from your powerarmor with their bare hands, making these fights not only boring but tedious...

9 Agility is basically required for melee runs as far as I'm concerned. Blitz is just that good.

I almost wish they would have put either melee crafting or damage bonuses on a different attribute to force some hard decisions at creation.

I wish they'd not make crafting perk related at all (and kept skills as main character building block, with perks as nice, well, perks).
And didn't have crafting give xp (i'm level 82, and anywhere between 10 to 20 levels of those are from crafting and settlement building, atleast).
And i still haven't finished chapter 2 (and not going to, as soon as i finish railroad quests i'm off to far harbor).

2 of the mods I consider "Must Have" are almost 2 gigs by themselves.

However, PC's can handle 4K textures. Consoles cannot. The rest of my mods (31 in all) are less than 2 gigs. Barring mod author expansions and major overhauls, 2 gigs is reasonable. I think 3 would be better but we're talking about a limited platform. The UrxBurxWurn is the definition of limited. This seems wise to me.

I get the logic of not wanting people to cheat for acchievements, so they disable mods.
I disagree with it, but i can see the logic.

But 99% of the mods don't make things easy.
They make things look different, and often, make things harder.
And it's not like the game is difficult, time consuming, sure, difficult, no.
