I don't think I've ever eagerly anticipated post debate polls this much before.

Christie smacks around Rubio, Trump self destructs over imminent domain.

It was a glorious shit show

So is Rubio still a reasonable alternative to Trump or Cruz?

He is the guy where maybe at most half of his opinions vaguely resembled something sane and the other half were pretty bad and not actually significantly different from those of the candidates billed as crazies. Talking about how terribly persecuted Christians are under Obama, crazy military shit such as on military spending, torture, and many other terrible stuff in this debate.

Yes. I remember the Romneybot jokes, but Rubio is much worse. Christie called him out on his "He knows exactly what he's doing" line.....and he repeated it again.

Also, Newt Gingrich says that Trump won the debate (of course that I found this on Trump's twitter):

He also praised everybody except Cruz and Rubio, for obvious reasons.

As long as you say he won and signal him you can enjoy those sweet sweet new Trump followers. Smart move.

It's difficult to say who won the debate. Obviously, Rubio locked up the mentally challenged vote, but Carson made inroads with the senile dementia voting block. Trump and Cruz still deadlocked over who gets the "lets just start killing people and see if that helps" votes.

Christie made a strong showing for loud angry overweight people, of which I am unfortunately a member. In spite of myself, I can't help but like him better after last night.

I still don't like Christ Christie the person, but I like actions of Chris Christie vis a vis yelling at Marco Rubio.

Every so often Chris Christie reminds us that yes he is the governor of New Jersey

Marty: The future, it's where you're going?
Doc: That's right, twenty five years into the future. I've always dreamed on seeing the future, looking beyond my years, seeing the progress of mankind. I'll also be able to see who wins the next twenty-five world series.

It's much easier to watch Christie bully up on Rubio than on women and union reps.

It's much easier to watch Christie bully up on Rubio than on women and union reps.

The solution here is clear: Christie should be removed from his job as Governor and instead his permanent position should be to follow Rubio around harassing him till the primary and/or election is over.

After that, we'll find him a new assignment.

I'm halfway tempted to throw five bucks and Christie's campaign to keep him in it just a bit longer so he can torpedo Rubio

He was appointed the day before 9/11! He prosecuted terrorists!
The previous claim may or may not be accurate
It's totally not accurate. Is Christie still using it?

We also got the old "Iran released the hostages the day Reagan was sworn in!" because that's why they did it. Not that Carter actually got that done. Just the sight of an actor becoming President got to them.

Different kind of release, your situation was more prisoner release than hostage.

Back to the primary... Apparently CNN actually fact checked Cruz for claiming they said Carson dropped out. So even the media hates Ted Cruz.

In the general maybe, but in the GOP primary media saying anything about you negatively is a positive sadly. And Romney proved you can lie almost none stop and the media will still report your lies as fact if they want to run a narrative of "Democrat in trouble as new made up bullshit emerges from the GOP" And we've seen with the none stop none story about Hillary's *blank* the media is tipping their hand here once again. I mean fuck sake there was an article about how when Hillary was first lady the popularity of her first name plummeted for baby names, this was a real story reported like it meant something.

They didn't need to, Carson said it right then during the debate that the tweet saying he was "taking a break" was corrected and clarified with another tweet one minute later. Its not just Cruz's team. Rep. Steve King also tweeted that Carson was dropping out.

Also apparently Jeb was absolutely correct about Trump trying to kick an old lady out of her house with eminent domain so he could build a casino.

He said he didn't, but what he actually meant was "I tried and tried and fought it all the way up to the supreme court and the old lady beat me and I lost."

Jeb was also saying that the Keystone Pipeline is a public project. And it isn't.

Though let's be honest here: Besides the donor class and a small cadre of lolbertarians, not many people care about eminent domain. Else, the story would have stuck when other people reported it early on the race.

It does poke holes in Trumps claims that he is the uber-populist outsider who can fix everything unlike all these insiders who are just all career government types.

Now, none of us need to be disabused of that notion because we never swallowed it to begin with. But the public at large sure seems to have.

Well, a third of the GOP primary electorate.

The idea that your vote is a moral statement about you or who you vote for is some backwards ass libertarian nonsense. Your vote is about society. Vote to protect the vulnerable.
