I think that was confirmed to be the work of a script rigged up to control a bluetooth controller.
yeah I remember seeing a link to the guy's github project for the python script that handles the writing. Apparently it takes over an hour to do... I had half a mind to see if I could improve his algorithm but then I remembered how bad I am at that
My blind guess is the hour is probably based on the limitations of the splatoon cursor/interface rather than the algorithm

It probably doesn't take into account x columns of black dots in a row and "hold down" the A button.
Did brushes get nerfed or something for Splatoon 2? Because I remember doing really well with them in 1, and now I can't do shit. Feels like it has zero range and anemic damage.
Like, in 1, if I snuck up on a guy, I used to be able to guarantee a splat. Now he will usually have enough time to whip around and blast me while casually walking backward out of brush range.
I never played the first game, but I feel like I'm missing out not trying a new Nintendo IP...which is such a rarity.
I tend to get really excited for multi games and then play them a few days and never go back. Like, I hated Mario Kart 8 (I know, I know), I didn't stick with Titanfall 2 or Injustice 2. The only games that have really kept me coming back were Team Fortress 2, the Battlefield games, Overwatch. Considering my history, do you think this would be a yay or nay for someone like me?

dunno, i was wondering this too. i felt like i got killed a lot by rollers and brushes in splatoon 1, but i can count on one hand the number of times it's happened in 2. even if i don't see them in time before they're flicking at me i usually have no problems turning and instantly killing them.

what kept you coming back to the last three
I don't really know, honestly. They just clicked the right way. Part of it may be because I played the BF games and TF2 with a close friend of mine. The games I've failed to stick with have been me going in solo. Overwatch I play solo, but it stuck, so I don't know.
I've been on the PA forums a really long time but I don't play with anyone here often. My old group is so small and so separated in what we play that I rarely get to play with them. Maybe the trick is to be more social on here and make an effort to play with people!
Some info: Splatoon 2 creates game data on an amiibo you swipe even if you don't save gear to it. This prevents other players from getting the special amiibo gear. Imagine the surprise (and dismay) in my house with multiple consoles and users! However there's an easy but tedious workaround - you can navigate through system settings and delete the game data from an amiibo. This lets other people get the gear, which is permanently registered to your Splatoon 2 save and won't be lost.
I'm pretty sure that half the point of Amiibo is supposed to be pooling them together with your friends so that everyone gets to share everything.

As soon as I made this post I started getting like 8-10 splats in a match and running over everybody. Just needed to get the feel back I guess.

one of the things i particularly like about splatoon is that even though the voice stuff sucks, it's easy to join games with friends because (turf war) matches are only 3 min
The design philosophy of the Aerospray seems to be a big focus on grabbing territory, at the expense of some level of actual 1-on-1 fighting ability.
My typical Aerospray experience is "die a ton of times, curse this useless weapon, get #1 score on the team".
The basic economy of scoring is such that gaining territory, losing it, and regaining it is worth more points than gaining territory and then splatting opponents to hold it. So I'm not sure about the degree to which Aerosprays actually win games as such. All I know is that anecdotally my Tentatek Splattershot winrate is my best so far, at level 11.
You know what eats Aerosprays for breakfast? The Splattershot Pro. Hits like a truck, good rate of fire, and vastly better range.

I think the most important thing I took away from Salmon Run is that hell is real.

psa for fashion squids: The splatnet shop has a 3-star motorcycle jacket up. also a snappy beret. I don't know what time the shops roll over but the shoe store is also selling some biker boots so...you know. Being fashion squid is suffering
The N-Zap is basically a superior Aerospray, I feel. It was my go-to in the first game.Something about Aerospray doesn't work for me, fast as it is. You pretty much have to be next to someone for the Spray to do much damage.
I was doing so badly with the Aerospray, but I got the N-Zap, and it just clicked. So glad it's back.

Which one were you using? The subweapons for the campaign reward one (Seekers, Inkzooka) felt to me like they rendered the range weakness irrelevant.
People absolutely hate that Salmon Run is so locked away with random times. Nintendo needs to make a change to that system. I KINDA understand why they thought locking it out was a good idea but it's obviously not being met well by people who think they are being robbed because their schedules don't fit.
I couldn't break out of lower 800's with splatties but that has changed a lot with Aerospray. Also, I learned you can swim when using the curling launcher which makes it like a billion times more awesome as you can really confused and mess people up with it.
Here is an average battle and it's like this all the time now. Makes sense to use it though, lot of ink = lot of points = more experience. (If I did that math right)
This set of Salmon Run feels harder than the last one! I appreciate the Charger being able to one-shot the hat guys but I have trouble figuring out how to make it work when the enemies start to coming at you

I just nabbed the jacket. Only a few minutes left! The beret was gone but I think I ordered it off a friendly squid yesterday anyway.
I think either they nerfed rollers hard or people just all know how to hard counter rollers. Number of rollers on a team is a really good way to predict turf war victory. Team with less always wins.
I ran into one ace roller on Sunday night, but otherwise your theory holds water.
Loved, loved, loved the Octoshower boss. Sniper-only boss, crazy intense.

Every weapon has an optimum range. Enemies outside the optimum range either can't be hit or will take minor damage, enemies inside the optimum range are hard to hit (like if you have a Charger or a Blaster that's not Luna and someone gets right up in your face). Aerospray is good for one-on-one if you can get an enemy inside that optimum range, but it's outreached by a lot of weapons that are also good for short range fighting, like the regular Splattershot or the slosher, but you have a sporting chance with the Aerospray if you end up in arms length of any enemy.
Can this game be interestingly played offline in single player? Got a long flight coming up and might just grab it for that to play through tutorials and get the hang of it if it works for that.

slow but you can delete people in one hit so i just swim around in the middle area and assassinate people left and right
very fun

Aerospray is pretty OP in turf wars. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up nerfed a bit in a future patch.

I'm not so sure I agree with that. They are pretty short range and easy to counter.

Unlocked Rapid Blaster. This is unfair almost, because people see stuff incoming and duck just into cover. And then go splat because duh, blaster.
And it has bomb spam for normal bombs. FAR better than curling bomb spam.

Either way, I prefer the N-Zap.
hello, yes, my other weapon is rollers! i have no aim whatsoever, mostly i get splats via ambush.
Nothing wrong with popping up out of a pool of ink in a sort of cephalopod Jason Voorhees "Gotcha bitch!" moment.

Actually, the only way points influences your XP is the bonus for 500+ points in turf war. XP is entirely what it shows by the bar.
You do however get money equal to your points.
