OK, so I got my new power supply, installed it, and the computer still doesn't turn on. Is my motherboard dead? I don't think I shocked it or anything.

You're not seeing anything at all? You have your monitor plug into the right port? Is your monitor outputting the right signal? Is it attempting to POST?
Also, screw it. I'm not trading up my 2500K just yet. I'll just wait for the pascal 1080TI.

I probably don't have the monitor set up right. It's an old-ass HP monitor with a VGA input that I got a DVI-D adapter for.
I don't know if the POST is successful. I don't know where to plug the little beeper into the motherboard. There's a place labeled "speaker" but the manual says to put the chassis speaker there...

You're absolutely sure your video card is getting power? I'm not sure what you have, but if it's anything recent then I'm pretty sure it uses the 6+2 power supply connector. Be sure that those 2 extra connectors are connected (a lot of times they're just dangling off the 6 slot connector). Also, be sure that your video card is completely slotted in. You shouldn't be able to remove it without manipulating the locking tab.

I don't see any place for those extra 2 pins to go. It has 2 6 pin connectors from what I can tell.

Hmm, the only thing more to do I can think of is going over the basics.
Reseat the card.
Make sure power connectors are plugged in all the way.
If the power supply is modular, make sure the connections is connected to the power supply.
Lastly, if the MOBO has integrated graphics, you may need to go into its BIOS (or whatever new fangle thing they have nowadays) and disable it in there. Though I'm pretty sure motherboards just detects and uses the video cards automatically nowadays.

Like I said, I don't get squat when I plug the monitor into the integrated video slot, either.
Obviously I'm an idiot who can't read. You do want both cpu connectors plugged in. You might want to try pulling the video card out, plugging into the mainboard video, and booting that way. If it does boot without the video card, the problem could either be the video card or the power supply. If it still doesn't boot, the problem could be anything.

Tried that. No dice.
Edit: is there really nothing I can do? Am I stuck with a $1000 paperweight?

Your best bet at this point is to test with a known good power supply. If it still doesn't work then it's time to RMA everything that's still in warranty.

Everything is turning on. It's just that I can't get a display. If I knew where to install this stupid beeper, maybe I could figure something out.
The beeper totally goes in the board speaker you mentioned before. I'm concerned you don't have the second, smaller power connected to the motherboard that is generally required nowadays.

Near(ish probably) the CPU socket there's a header for power. You have your main 24 pin and a 4 or 8 pin CPU power connection. then the video card and drives. Tell us your mobo and we can point it out, but should be easy to spot. Will look like this if it's 4 (which it probably is):

Edit: I'm getting 3 beeps, which seems to mean there's RAM problems. I've been having trouble seating the RAM. Maybe that's the issue.

Just because it's powering up doesn't mean it's getting enough power for it to successfully post.
Do you actually have the speaker? If you do, it installs onto the pin array where the power button/reset button/hdd activity lights plug in.
You can also try disconnecting everything that isn't 100% necessary. Unplug all drives (hdd/ssd/cd/dvd/whatever), pci cards, all but one ram stick (installed in the slot closest to the motherboard), and see what happens.

Open the 2 tabs on each side of the slot by pushing out/away from the center of the RAM slot (DIMM), then align it with the notch and push down. It should lock the tabs and probably make a click sound.

See, that's why I was having trouble. For some reason, only one of the sides has tabs, so you have to wedge it in the untabbed side and nudge it in the tabbed side. Way harder.

No beeps now, but no signal, either.
This has been the way every one of my motherboards have handled RAM seating: only one side actual has movable tabs, the other just aligns the sticks.

It's odd, because the manual shows both sides having tabs. They LIED to me.
Edit: Was reading a troubleshooting guide, and apparently the fact that I got the "memory missing" beeps means the processor works? Can anyone confirm this? If so, that's great! It means I'm getting close to the source of the problem.

Nada. I tested the power supply, and the fan spun, but now that I hooked everything up, it doesn't.
Edit: I used a tester, and I MAY have hooked up the bad supply again. Update forthcoming.

The manual said I need to only plug in one of the two CPU plugs, but I'll try both.
Now, with everything hooked up, I'm getting bad readings again. Did I buy too weak a power supply?
Teated the other power supply, and now it has good readings.
We have liftoff. Turns out, I took the instructions too literally and should have plugged in bother CPU connectors.
Edit: OK, I have a monitor and keyboard plugged in, but it doesn't want to show anything. What do?

Yes and yes (though I don't get results when I plug it into the integrated port, either).

Just checked the manual. It's in he right slot.

About that. Apparently, the expansion covers don't go back on once taken off. I have no idea why it was designed that way.
That said, I'll try removing the cards and drives tomorrow. If it still doesn't work, I'm guessing it's the processor.

Personally I would take out your GPU for now and just try to boot with integrated video. Then when you get that working out the GPU in.
There should have been a cable in the GPU box that fits both of those slots and plugs into your 12v rail directly.
Oh dear lord, you do NOT want to see the rest of the case. There's routing holes by the power supply and the upper drive bays. That's it.
Edit:
I did get this cable.
But my power supply came with a cable that plugs into both 6 pin slots, so I have no idea what to do with it.
