Big thanks to Motorboat Kitten for letting me tag along on the Raid last night, for my first Hard Oryx kill. I got my 50th Calcified Fragment and a bunch of good armor, but the crown jewel was a 315 Smite of Merain PR with Life Support. It's like a mini Red Death!
Oddly the Agonarch Karve ship didn't drop, though. Do I need to be alive when Oryx dies to get that? (Final Light-Eater Knight kept hiding, and the Tombship nailed me.)

Thanks for helping us out, as well! The Agonarch Carve ship drops from doing the Oryx Challenge on hard; you want to reserve your spot for next week? =P

Yes, please! My work schedule has been Raid-prohibitive lately, but Thursday is the one night a week that's perfect for me. I'm happy to fill in until @morgan_coke returns.
P.S. I'm still getting the hang of call-outs in King's Fall, but I promise to use my words more.
So what are they going to do for Tuesday when Division comes out?
Nothing I hope, because I want to play the Division (fingers crossed it arrives from amazon).
I mean, it is maddening that Bungie still won't tell us anything in each up-date beyond saying there is something on the horizon that they can't talk about (vs the Division which seems to given a pretty good idea what to expect over the next year), but I've pumped a lot of hours into Destiny and enjoyed most of them, and it's nice to have an opportunity to go off and play some other games.
So what are they going to do for Tuesday when Division comes out?
Yeah, this was basically my thinking.
They're just treading water until they can announce the Next Big Thing, which... fine. I don't want to suggest they owe us anything right now - it's not like we pay a monthly fee. But this lull continues to surprise me. They are 100% going to lose a bunch of Destiny-loving-type players to the Division on Tuesday - I mean, those people have been playing non-Destiny games lately anyway, but they're about to get sucked into a new Destiny-type experience and may not return for the next expansion or whatever. I just find it surprising how little forethought there has been.
But then again, Bungie probably doesn't care about losing players to the Division, because they don't have any new content and there's nothing coming in the very immediate future. They may see it as a helpful distraction that will occupy their salty player base. And they know people will return when there's a big content drop.

Someone on Reddit organized Exotic armor by subclass. I never realized how imbalanced the spread is until I saw it laid out graphically. I get that the new TTK subclasses would have fewer Exotics than the older ones, but why do Strikers and Voidwalkers get so much more love than Defenders and Sunsingers?
Also note that the TTK items are all just "unlock X node for free."
Regarding Void Locks, neither Astrocyte Verse nor Ophidian Aspect (nor Transversive Steps) can actually drop. Nothing Manicles got nerfed so the tracking hardly happens and I'd debate whether Skull of Dire Ahamkara is worthy of the exotic tab because outside of a .gif of a Void lock surviving a hammer blow from a pre-nerf Sunbreaker, I think the amount of times I've seen a lock wearing that helm I can count on my hand.
And while Voidfang certainly does confer a bonus to that spec, the "spawn a grenade" perk is certainly of use to the other specs. In fact, it turns out that perk is very useful for Sunsingers with Fireborn.
Warlocks certainly do have a chunk of exotics, but I'd argue that many of them are pretty much filler and not all that interesting vs some of the exotics you find for Hunters or Titans.
So what are they going to do for Tuesday when Division comes out?
Hey wow. You know, I just remembered that I max'd my PPL out and have to take a day off. how convenient.
(notes the game won't arrive until the next day because, lol)

Oh yeah, no argument there. Practically speaking, there are only three Voidwalker Exotics that matter-- Obisidian Mind, The Ram, and Voidfang-- and one of those is basically class-neutral. (Voidfang is all I use when I run Sunsinger in PvP.) Plus a lot of the items in that graphic either aren't dropping, or don't have Y2 equivalents yet.
Still, that doesn't change the fact that over the life of Destiny, they've created almost twice as many Voidalock items than Sunbro. Same thing goes for Strikers, a lot of their items aren't widely used but they still have six versus the Defender's three.
I'm just wondering what Bungie's creative process for Exotics is like. It seems that the pure offense classes have a lot of useless filler (Skull of Dire Ahamkara, Eternal Warrior, ATS/8 ARACHNID), while support classes have fewer but more useful items (Saint-14, Praxic Fire).
Also when in doubt, they seem to just shrug and say "unlock a thing for free!" or "have more/slightly improved grenades!'
Is there any reason to have leveled up alts, other than just for fun? And any way to auto pair with people in the story missions, or do I have to manually make a group to go through that stuff?

Just for fun, and more shots at weekly loot rewards.
no way to auto-pair with people. some strikes have matchmaking, but mostly it's BYOF.

You know, I was thinking and I wish we had a way to save loadouts. I have some cool sets depending on the strike or what I want to do, but it's a pain in the ass to have to keep switching them around. Or just switching things out before I turn in bounties for the XP rewards. I really like the way we can access stuff via the web, but it would be nice to save sets and just one click auto-equip a set.

I think some of the apps/plugins let you do this. (Right...?) But yeah, would be awesome to have in-game.

There are a lot of good options!
* Loadouts for iOS. Concentrates solely on building load outs, and is very good at it. Doesn't really do anything else.
* Ishtar Commander. Another app with load outs, but also does a lot more than Loadouts. Right now, it includes being able to check your mailboxes, checking perk info on you weapons and armor (coming in 1.3.0), seeing hidden weapon stats (like reload, aim assist, equip speed, magazine -- coming in 1.3.0), really fast transfer speeds, and a handy max light / revert load out button. It also has an Android version.
* Destiny Item Manager. This is a plugin for Chrome that does all of the above, and more. It has an infusion calculator, and a bunch of other very neat stuff. There's a mobile version in the works, too.
There are more than that, but those are the best options I can think of at the moment.
I just cant wait until this game is no longer hobbled by the 360 and PS3. We already know those systems have held the game back in the past and I'm pretty confident they're still doing so now.
Xur is selling legacy primaries, I got a Thorn. I am going to be such an asshole in crucible this weekend.
I got Suros Regime and Hard Light, you appear to have stolen all my good fortune and I would like it back!
I'm going to have to grind out Prison of Elders hard tomorrow to try and get another bunch of coins to roll the dice again, I needs my Thorn.

Ishtar Commander is really good, especially the most recent version that added the loadout thing.
Basically getting real that I wouldn't see the Lighthouse anytime soon, I recently looked up and read the two Grimoire cards. They're really good! Dick move hiding such good ones behind such a roadblock Bung.
The Vex card that's PS only is also pretty good. They are real jerks about the lore in this game.
It's a shame Bungie made the Lighthouse harder to reach in year two, rather than easier. Let flawless teams get their flawless emblems, but more players should have a chance to visit. It's one of the coolest places in Destiny.

Why the hell is it burning shrine again? Yeesh. Never been able to get into a groove on that map.
Pretty sure there's at least a couple solid 3v3 maps we haven't seen yet.
So last thread @Arteen posted a video demonstrating some out of the box use of Death from Above (because I didn't understand how you were supposed to use it).
Anyone want to run Strikes with me? I'm bored and would like to farm some coins.

Do you have a laptop? Will you take a look at the signal strength next to your PS4? Not an exact test, but would provide insight into what your problem may be.
Could sometwo carry me to the Lighthouse for once in my life please? I just want to experience it.
I'm not even completely terrible at PVP!
It doesn't really work that way, unless you're a top twitch streamer, carries are very hard to do. Each member of the team is invaluable to success. I have tried for flawless probably over 100 times, and only managed to got 9 times. Each time I have gone flawless, we had some amazing plays from each team member. Having one strong player isn't really enough.

Yeah I wasn't really being serious, it would be a joint effort where I would play well and contribute. If I had two others to play with consistently I'm sure I could get there. It's just tough to get a serious group together.
