I had a better one where the guy bubble'd the heavy on the pier over the abyss on The Cauldron. He placed it a bit forward of the end of the pier and closer to the door so I ran in, fists flying and blind and was rewarded by pushing right on through and my sight coming back in time to see him plunge off the edge of the pier into the abyss, along with his precious heavy ammo. I find a fair number of titans with Saint-14 don't sidestep when someone enters their bubble, which means you can still dart in and blow them away with a shotgun blast if they're running weapons of light and don't think to move.
edit: My problem with Peregrine Greaves is 9 times out of 10, I don't think you really need them, the mk44 stand asides work so much better (for me at least) because you can haul ass around a level for such a long time before applying the shoulder of justice to some poor bastard's face.
I've not read quest rewards were changed, it should still be the same sniper rifle, shotgun. That other crucible quest still rewards that weird looking shitty year one rocket launcher. You should have a choice of two weapons.

I just finished up the Taken War quests on my Warlock a month or so ago, I'm pretty sure it did drop a 1KYS. But I'm also old and forgetful.
I still can't believe that incredibly long Crucible questline only drops that dollar-store knockoff of Dragon's Breath with terrible perks.
An FYI for slackers like me, I finally got around to finishing the SRL questline for the speeder and there's a bug which does not allow you to turn it in. It's a know bug that Bungle is aware of but no ETA on a fix. Had I known I wouldn't have bothered finishing it and being stuck with a quest complete marker on my map until it's fixed.
Cormac may be referring to the Red Bull questline that was added to everyone's questlog once its exclusivity period ended.
No, it's the PS exclusive quest from SRL for the EV-42 Nightsteed speeder. The one where the last part of the quest is running two hard mode missions, Fear's Embrace and Outbound Signal, within a set time period.
I've been holding a nearly complete IB bounty (the overall "do everything" one, hit rank 3, get a 10-streak, double kills, and something else) since the last IB. If I hold on to it, will I be able to just complete what I have left on it and turn it in for the rep? Or will it be replaced by the new one this week?

Yeah, you can still complete it and turn it in for this round, it will retain your progress just like any other bounty.
I always keep my leftover IB bounties until the next one, helps me rank up faster; right now my Titan has all three weekly bounties nearly completed. There is an ideal time to turn them in, though.

You can just finish it up this IB. I do this with at least one weekly every time (generally I complete them around the time I hit 5 and don't turn them in because I don't need the rep this time).
I got an Answering Chord from a package at 325, but shit rolls. So I infused it into my PDX-45. My PDX has Fitted Stock, Headseeker, and Smallbore. It does a great job in PVP.
Is Hawkmoon still pretty good? I got a 326 from a Random Engram and my Alt hunter is focusing on Handcannons.
More highlights from Fireteam Thunderdance! I took some of Jay's clips as well, seeing as he recorded our actual victory.

My defender build/strat for PVE is two things:
Punch trash, make orbs
Drop bubble, blind enemies with the Helm of Saint-14
On top of that, tailoring the buff to the encounter is probably a good idea - for example, armour of light will get you through about 35% of the Warsat part of the fallen sabre strike in a nightfall
You know, for all the flaws this game has, (in terms of community tools, sparse content updates, etc.), I still find myself playing it for hours when I bother to log in just because I like the actual gameplay so much. Plus, I've really gotten into pvp, despite the fact that I am old, and have to deal with the occasional ritualistic humiliation from college kids. And I don't have a MIDA yet, which means getting killed by them a lot can sting (although my warlock is murder with haakon's hatchet). Getting shiny new sparrows and ships with the last update has helped as well.
Probably not on tonight, but I may be looking to team up with people for IB later this week. I do okay solo, usually get my guys to rank 5 by the end of the week, but thinking it might be fun to go in as a fireteam. I'm SoylentH on PS4. I'll put out another feeler tomorrow night when I sit down to shoot some dudes.

This is basically Destiny in a nutshell. Gameplay is so good even when the game isn't.

As some of our resident crucipros an you speak to your weapon selection, as it changes throughout the clip, I think.
Is there a particular reason you were switching up the way you were? Was it just smarter of what you felt like? Was there a reason based on the meta/map rotation?

Anybody having issues on PS4 getting to the tower? I keep getting error code beaver when I'm loading in and it boots me back to orbit.

Regarding the bolded, get yourself a Tlaloc from the lvl 3 gunsmith quest. With overflow going it's flat out better than MIDA.

yeah, i took a few months away from the game, coming back for the April update and it really struck me once again just how fun the core gameplay mechanics* are. the game is just really fun and satisfying to play.

Anyone down for doing things on XB1?

I just spent an hour and a half with a PUG on Oryx. Amazing group, everyone knew the fight by heart, but we could not get him down due to the endless string of bugs and lag. Teleporting ogres. Knights resetting position. Runner literally dancing on the last platform because they can't pick up the relic.

Short Answer: ADHD
I try to run with a long range and short range weapon, such that I can bring overwhelming firepower against my opponents wherever they stand. I switched weapons mostly in response to the map we landed on.
I ran:
MIDA Multi-Tool
Hawksaw
Lyudmila-D (God Roll)
Colovance's Duty
Binary Dawn
Chaperone
Lord of Wolves (Lord Of WOLVES!)
The Chaperone has the best oneshot capability, while the Lord of Wolves has the best two shot capability. The Multi-Tool and Hawksaw are strong weapons that I wanted to test against the Trials.
I select the Lyudmila-D and Colovance's Duty for long range stagger against snipers, and ttk values below 0.8 seconds. The God Roll Lyudmila-D is can score 2 burst kills with only 6 headshots. High impact scout rifles can kill with three headshots.
Yeah, weapon swapping can save a bad game if you notice the enemy is weak in a certain range. If they dominate up close, stay back and swap to sniper and Scout or Pulse. If they rule you in long range, try to rush them with shotties and auto rifles.

Obviously you can't switch weapons once you are loading in, can you? Doing so toasts the special ammo with which you start, or can you do so in a particular window, or are you just that good?
Which one is the god roll Lyudmila? Some sort of head seeker + range combo? (Is there a list of God rolls somewhere?) I was going to note that it looked like you hit an absurd number of headshot bursts with the Lyudmila from quite a distance.
Obviously your colovance's duty isn't the vendor roll.

The tools built by the community are pretty awesome and amaze me at the effort put in by random folks to make shooting mans easier.
The tools for community management made by Bungie are amazingly bad.

Such a stupid reason for a raid to fail.
