Funny, I ran the flamer build early on in scouting and exclusively targeted Jenners since I knew they operate near the red line when fighting. Then there was less and less Jenners so switched to the MPL build instead. Guess I'll pull that build back out then. I just built my 2D2 into a 4 SRM4 plus AC 5 the other day, but didn't think of making it into a AC10.
I use a LBX10 to squeeze in some extra ammo for maximum splat. You'll definitely be running an XL(~300), but I haven't really had any trouble with getting ST'd. Its a lot of fun twisting, jump jet hopping and generally making Stormcrows sorry they picked a fight. I even run in it invasion sometimes and can solo a lot of stuff with it. Make sure your arms are gone before you start face tanking, use up their heat before you really start laying on the damage.
Ahhh ok. Now I see how you managed the bigger gun. Will definitely have to try it out since it sounds like fun. Plus I think I may have an extra xl 300 laying around unless I put it into my new crab.
Ohhhhh ha! I saw them there and it didn't dawn on me that they had the Invasion added to the Scouting. The reason is that it shows whatever mech you had in the first slot and I had the Griffin 2N in my first few drops which threw me off.
the jenner iic is more fragile though, cause it lacks the structure quirks that any IS light worth driving has. Every IS light of any consequence has like 10-16 extra HP on each leg due to structure quirk. It's not that the jenner iic is bad, but they're noticeable easier to leg (especially now that they're larger.)

I'm flying home from my week long vacation in Colorado today and I fully intend to get some robits in tonight once I get settled back in. Hope to catch some of y'all online tonight.

The Reaper DDC does 56 damage a shot with its SRMs and AC20, just 8 more damage than a Clan light. Every 2.5ish seconds they are running around as fast as a Locust, they are alphaing comparable damage to most IS assaults. I don't even try to leg them, the CT is a much more reliable way to deal damage, exactly the same as an IS Jenner. If you get lucky you can two shot them with the 2D2. If you're lucky...

That's assuming you don't lose the AC20 on the first received alpha. Which has a nasty habbit of happening.
To the point I've considered dropping the AC20 and its ammo and running 2 large pulse lasers and extra heatsinks.
More damage, Less Ammo Dependent, and being able to aim up and down thanks to arm weapons.
Downside is you lose the shield arms.
Then again you don't lose the arms or the weapons in them in a single alpha like you do with the AC20 in the ST for whatever bizarre PGI reason.
edit
Then again two ERPPCs would be the same damage as an AC20, and give you insane range..at an insane heat cost.

I dunno, I die much more often from getting legged in lights than I do losing a torso (plus when you do lose an ST in a clan light you're usually essentially dead anyway)

yes the poor clan light mechs, able to survive their lost ST, and still carry more firepower than most IS lights and mediums with half a mech.
I mean, look; the main reason the oxide is/was the comp light of choice isn't that 4x srm4 is such a great loadout, it's because of the hilarious amount of extra structure it gets.
I realize it's verboten in this thread to suggest IS have anything remotely as good as the clans, but a lot of iic/cheetah pilots would trade the clan XL for 16 structure on each leg. I'm pretty sure I would

Hah, but I'm curious cause it should be from the 3055 or 3058 stuff right? And that's right about where I got into the tabletop game, so i feel like I ought to be able to guess.

If it's a Linebacker, that silhouette is very, very tall. I know they'd absolutely add the proper hips to it a la the MWO Black Hawk, so your guys' guesses are probably right. But still. Kon, I think, got it most right. (PGI Art != Proper Scale)
It's such a strange choice to me, though. The Linebacker is supposed to be a replacement for the Timber Wolf, but everyone and their cousin knows that's never gonna happen in MWO. And in MWO, it'll be competing with the Ebon Jaguar and Hellbringer at the same weight. It doesn't have a variant with ECM, so it won't compete against the HBR, and it doesn't have favorably-high hardpoints like the EBJ has. It'll be faster, so maybe it'll have that going for it, but aside from that I'm not immediately seeing the benefit here. Maybe that's a good thing, that it'll be at-best a sidegrade from the other 65 tonners?

When has PGI ever made any sense when it comes to mechs? Heck if the original art is going to be followed they will be easy for the IS to blow up given their huge torsos. Guess that will make things even with the Archer release at least.
Also I believe we threw out scaling when they made the Catapult practically the same size as a Jenner.
In a game where a only a handful of mechs are viable, the last thing I want is more of them...
Remember when IS had the best light mechs in the game, now we're arguing whether one Pay to Play mech (Oxide) is better than the Clans while 40 others are all but forgotten. Keep that whale train running PGI.

In the history of MWO Concept Art, I have a hard time saying this one isn't the biggest departure from the original source material, Black Hawk included.
Woof. Dem Thighs. Even taking into account PGI's "need" to give it a proper hip joint, this sucker is standing about 1/3rd too tall for its shape and proportions.
I dunno, the concept art never really gives you a sense of scale. It will probably be somewhere in between EBJ and HBR height.
With a 390 engine rating and half weight SRMs (assuming you drop the extra cash for the addon pack) this thing is gonna be a scarier Catapult A1 minus the jump jets. A 6 CMPL skirmisher running around at 106kph will also be annoying as fuck. Someone check my math, but it'll have about 20 tons to work with, after max armor, which seems like plenty. Except ballistics won't work real well, so dual UAC10's are probably out unless you sacrifice a lot of armor. It'll have its niche but not really outperform the other 65 tonners.

Which is what they did last time.
Kinda wish they said that 24 hours ago though.

Awesome news, now I can get a Mad Dog to sell.
Also Archer for cbills (highly advise avoiding it).
Are you keeping your own stats for this?

a million times this. it might have a chance of being viable if IS were ever allowed to mount clan weapons, but until that day.. avoid.
The tournament page lists all the games you've played with the stats used in the event.

If I could to choose between IS structure quirks or clan xl engines on my mechs, I'd choose the engine 99% of the time.

I should probably finish up this event planning I've been working on, and actually announce something.
I'm not active.

Really strange Stone Rhino?
Too tall to be a Bushwhacker.
I feel like the toe-configuration on the feet and that weird nobby arm ending are important.
My favorite part of this post is where you think PGI has any concept of scale or preservation of concept.
They're releasing the flea!

Or maybe the Linebacker?
Darn you two with your logic. Yeah it probably is the Linebacker.
