Well, what are the odds of any in-game opponents being able to thwart his lack of weaknesses? Because that's pretty much what he's going to be doing.

He probably won't ever eat a super effective attack in single player play. I'm not sure how common Mold Breaker is in multiplayer either right now.
Surf and sometimes waterfall. HM moves are mostly subpar.
My issue with HMs is that they rarely make the game more interesting- they don't provide puzzles, or interesting challenges, they just provide road blocks. The ones that AT LEAST aren't also bad moves are the ones people don't seem to mind- people care less about having Strength on their Pokemon than Flash, or (Gen IV) Defog, for instance. But this is just because they are the least burdensome on the player- its not very exciting to have your Pokemon use Cut on a tree and then just keep walking, there's nothing to it. The real solution is to make HMs interesting to use.
yeah, and they also put a billion prompts to use freaking cut ona freaking bush.

Speaking of which, I'm still jonesing for the non-spring Sawsbucks and Deerlings, if anyone could breed me 2 deerlings (or one Sawsbuck) of each season I'd be delighted.

There are 18 regional Vivillon formes, plus 2 event specials. And even if you get hold of a different region's pattern via trade, the babies will also have your region's pattern. So all you can do is trade and trade, and you can't even help your buddies with this unless you trade duplicates.

I mean, Defense is its lowest stat so it takes less of a hit with the Mild Nature, and its not like it was going to take a hit defensively anyway, so I guess if you wanted a mixed attacker with emphasis on the special attack its pretty good? I always hate getting almost perfect spreads that are just slightly off.

Well, they are in the habit of sending highly "Spam-like" emails that invariably get dumped into obscure folders and have titles that never mention the gifted pokemons.
I just spent at least an hour trying to organize my Pokemon by National Dex number using Pokemon Bank only for it to report a communication error when I tried to save.
