Other than the fruit/vegetable debate, I don't think I've seen anything that indicate Robin and Demetrius are at all unhappy, whereas I've seen some indicators of unhappiness from Jodi/Kent and Caroline/Pierre.
Also, I seem to have missed Clint's 6-heart event, and can't get it to trigger. Sad
I like this game a whole bunch, but I'm having difficulty keeping engaged. I'm halway through my second year and at this point the main things I've yet to do are finishing the bundles, collections, dungeon quests and befriending the rest of the village, all of which seems to require huge amounts of either patience or grinding.
I suppose the endgame I was expecting might be linked with whats supposed to happen in the third spring, but I doubt it. I can hardly complain about the game lacking content in any case since I spent 35 hours on it.
The fact that the marriage people want to break up is the interracial one ain't making it look good either.
Which is double not helped by the multiple mods that already exist to make Maru whiter.
Can we not please? Bitching about mods bringing dumb shit into the game is pointless, people are geese, we all know this, just ignore the mods you find offensive and use the ones you like.
On the subject of breaking up Robin and Demetrius, I see more crazy shit involving Demetrius than I ever do for Robin, so I'm thinking it's really the other way around - people want to marry HIM and not her.

Who even has time for Clint? Someone find me the event that replaces our LAZY AS FUCK blacksmith with someone with a work ethic. Closing at 4pm, Clint? Really? We both know you're just going to go to the saloon and drink the night away while staring at Emily. Get back over here and break these rocks!
I dunno why we have to have Clint anyway. I already can smelt ores. Glob a bunch of iron ore together into an anvil and a hammer and let me upgrade my own shit. :P
Do the kids have events? I tend to give Jas and Vincent stuff whenever I run into them because I like children, but I have both at 4 hearts and nothing.
Question: If I buy and plant strawberries on the day of the egg festival, do I get three harvests or two?
It's not really worth it to plant them right after the festival, you're better off buying and storing for the next year to plant at the start of the year.

I mean I'm going to do that too (or plant them in the greenhouse when I unlock it), but even if I only get two harvests it's still the biggest cash crop I can get in spring (100g for 240g compared to 80g for 175g for cauliflowers). Especially if I turn them into wine or jelly. At three harvests it's even better.
I want to make the money this year, it being my second year. There's all kinds of stuff I want to buy during summer at the latest. And with12k+ in the bank right now why not plant a bunch of strawberries?
If memory serves, you'll get two strawberry harvests. You might as well plant them and get a handful of strawberries (which you can turn into strawberry seeds eventually) than save them until next year.

Yeah, ever since i opened the community center Clint spends a lot of time during the day staring into the furnace....I have a feeling one day we will just find a corpse with his head in the fire.
Best one for me was when I had him upgrading a tool, and I went to pick it up at around 2, only to see him walking to the clinic. It was clear he wasn't going to get back to the shop before closing.
Get your damn prostate checked on your own time! I want my watering can!

To be fair he doesn't have much of a choice when the only doctor in town closes shop at 3.
Getting a mac and linux version out is fairly high on the dev's priority list, actually. He's working out what all he needs to finish before putting in the effort to move it over to those OS.
It's one guy making the game. It probably would have never come out if he was trying to similtaneously make both a PC and mac version. I'd imagine he would want to finish multiplayer up before porting though.
Now that multiplatform capable engines like Unity are way more robust than they were and have better toolsets for doing 2D than back when he started 4 years ago, it's more feasible.
He mentioned in one interview, or maybe his AMA, that one of his big regrets was using XNA now that XNA is dead. I really liked working with XNA, I made far more actual stuff with XNA than with any other framework or engine I've fiddled with, so I too am bummed that Microsoft sunsetted it.

Oh I know, I just hope he can port it soon. I looked a little bit into running it with Wineskin, etc, but it looks far too fiddly to get the Steam version to work and that's where I wanna buy it so when he does have a mac version I'll already have access to it.
Have any of you played it with a controller? I'm tempted to just buy it anyway and run in on the HTPC and the TV from the couch.

pretty much everything works with a controller, except using custom names for animals
Do animals produce less as they get older? I'm getting about 1 egg a day from my chickens now. I saw in some threads that you should close the hatch door every night, but
Pain in the ass
It hasn't been an issue previously. They've just kind of petered off over the last week or so.
Cows and Chickens produce mostly every day. Sometimes they don't. For what it's worth, I haven't seen any of my goats or ducks miss a production day yet, though sometimes with ducks you get a dud feather instead of an egg and I don't think you can make HQ duck mayonnaise which negates their advantage over chickens.
Closing the coop/barn door at night is more important if it's going to be bad weather the next day and it's also handy if you're still petting the animals in the morning since all in one spot is a lot easier than trying to catch or milk the things across a huge yard.

I have heard people say something about 'wolf' attacks on their livestock. Is this a thing?
There's no plan, there's no race to be run
The harder the rain, honey, the sweeter the sun.
I've never seen that happen, but then again I have a fully fenced in yard area for the animals to roam during the day and I always swing by the close the doors as well as put the next batch of produce through the artisan machines for the morning collection. I can't say yes or no to that. The only 'loss' events I've seen are crows eating your crops and a thunderstorm striking crops/your fruit trees.
Fences by the way, don't have any preventative effect. They're there for aesthetics and to present a barrier to grass spreading (which can be handled with floorings or paths) and mobility

Controller works fine. It gets a bit wonky every now and then where suddenly it thinks it's using the mouse again, but it's usually not a big deal to resenter it.

Stardew Valley: now with more options to force the only black man in town into a divorce and break up a beautiful progress family.
-It goes both ways. Because maybe somebody wants to marry Demetrius.
-This applies to the other couples too, and Pierre/Caroline are options.
Also, I seem to have missed Clint's 6-heart event, and can't get it to trigger. Sad

Hey, maybe I want to steal the scientist man!
Also, when do I start getting battery packs? I put up a bunch of rods but I'm in my second spring and haven't gotten any yet.
Once you have your lightning rods outdoors, wait for a thunderstorm. You'll see the rods pulse a little when they're making a battery.

I had assumed it had something to do with the heart gauge on each animal, but I can't figure out how to make it go higher than one heart.
just keep them fed, let them out in non-winter months, pet them every day, close barn doors at the end of a day
they eventually go up, but it takes months
sooooooo long productivity
