Built my first coop! Immediately filled it with 4 chickens: Parmesan, Piccata, Pox, and Dumpling.

Just a few more coins to make and I'll ask Robin to upgrade my house!

Year 2 and just cashed in my first big harvest of star fruit. Finishing a day with 50k profit was euphoric.

Abigail also gave me a heart attack when she mentioned Dave Jr. had just got up in the morning, I recovered shortly after when I realized it's her Guinea pig and was not a unplanned pregnancy that passed me by.

Oh, man, that level 10 mining upgrade that makes gems worth more. Especially when you've got that earlier upgrade that has a chance to get double gems from a node.

DOLLA DOLLA BILLS. Got something like 10k from a skull mine run just from selling gems.

I went for coal instead as have tons of gems and ore but not much in the coal department.

I can imagine though your choice is definitely the more lucrative option.

Ok, another silly noob question: If I play this on a PC, would I eventually be able to port that save over to my mac when there's a mac version? Does cloud sync do that sort of thing?

If not for those pumpkins, I could've had it done by mid-spring. Sadly, when I realized I hadn't planted enough pumpkins, I forgot to add fertilizer first and didn't realize my mistake until I harvested in the latter half of the season. Oh well.

The greenhouse is also pretty powerful for getting it early. There's a reason it's the second most expensive item if you go the Joja route.

  • TakelTakel Registered User regular
My next playthrough will aim to get the greenhouse unlocked by early Winter (like day 2) because it'll be even more powerful during the Winter months when you don't have access to normal crops.

Don't you need the animal products stuff for the greenhouse?

How do you get that stuff so early?

I just got to Winter 1 and I'm pretty happy with having three silos, a barn, coop and the horse, gold on all tools and something like 15 quality sprinklers. Only a single Iridium one, though, I've been getting, like, no iridium this time through.

I completely forgot to add a cauliflower to the bundle. >.> so I have the animal products one and then that lone cauliflower to finish the green house bundles. I've been hoping a cauliflower shows up in the Gypsy cart, but no luck. I'll probably have to wait until Spring.

  • PMAversPMAvers Registered User regular
I've seen some animal stuff like goat milk show up at the cart vendor, but it's so random I don't think you can plan on it.

Heck, sometimes she sells the same thing but at different price points.

I got super lucky the first time I milked my cow and goat both items were 'large'. Although I turned them into cheese without realizing so it took me a few more weeks to finish that bundle.

I think I got my greenhouse in Summer 2, IIRC, along with pretty much everything else in the community center.

I'm just hitting Winter 2 now and rapidly hitting content wall. My tools are all upgraded, Community Center is done, I've built everything except the larger house and the slime hutch. I need a bit more iridium for sprinklers come spring, but I have all winter to get that. I have more money than I know what to do with thanks to crops and a greenhouse full of blueberries.

I supposed I could try to track down an ancient seed and work more on the social stuff, but otherwise I am kind of done.

How are you supposed to find your pig's truffles? The giant field of impenetrable velociraptor-hunting-grass makes it hard enough to find ducks, let alone produce that blends in with fall foliage.

E: Steam forum claims pigs dig truffles up in grass-less squares, so I guess I missed one long enough for grass to grow around it and that I need to cut down some of this grass before the raptors get any ideas.

Just sort of mouse over the area and look for the + next to the cursor, is the best bet.

But really pigs produce truffles so rarely...as soon as I had the four I needed (one for the bundle, one to ship, one to make into oil for the bundle, and one to make into oil to ship) I sold them all off.

    The animal products needed are:
    Large Milk
    Large Eggs (Both Colours)
    Large Goat Milk
    Duck Egg
    Wool

Wool is a Deluxe level barn/coop so that's almost out of contention due to the costs involved in getting that thing built
Large Milk is fairly quick as is the two large eggs
Large Goat Milk will take a little bit longer
Duck eggs are simple. Just need a duck

Hammering the peddler twice a week hoping for some of the other stuff will also help

The slowest part is the Artisan Goods bundle
12 items, just need 6. Thankfully, half of them are fruit tree products, which means if you can save up the money before the end of Spring to get some Summer fruit trees planted, you can lock in up to 4 of those requirements, though aiming for the Fall fruit trees is probably best because you can't really afford to tie down 10k at the end of Spring for something that won't give you a return for an entire season.
Goat/normal cheese is going to be done if you're going for the animal products bundle
Honey and Jelly are fairly simple as well but honey needs to be done before the end of Fall. If you complete the Fall crops bundle though, you'll get a free bee house and there should be enough time to get a honey batch or two out of it.
Cloth is difficult for the same reason as Wool is a pain for the animal products. You could get lucky from trash recycling though
    Truffle oil is just...... no...

So, I have to agree with the person/people that said Hailey's relationship stuff was super adorable.

Although I got the Abigail one again. I didn't realize that just having the high friendship stat was enough, so I guess in this game, if you're a completionist, you're gonna have a lot of super depressed suitors.

I felt slightly less man-whorey by waiting until everyone was at 10 hearts before proposing to one but many of them still flirt with me after I got married. There needs to be a "just be friends" gift and path.

I've been playing this with my fiancé - he doesn't like video games, really. But he watched me play stardew and gradually warmed up to it

Eventually he took the laptop from me and started playing himself

He loves it. He's said it's the best game He's ever played and it's certainly the only video game he will play without me

I don't understand why it's so lovely to play, but it hits so many pleasure centers. I think he likes it because you just plant crops and it's cute and nothing bad happens.

Yep! Last night I finally felled the last wild tree on my plot. Fortunately I have over 100 of each type of seed so I can easily replant wherever I want, especially once I get enough tappers to set up a tree goo farm.
