U.Leblanc went exactly how I planned, except the last bit. Zidane (LS/dismissal) and Steiner (LS/banish strike) for AoE SBs, Sazh for Boon and Blind Shell, Yuna was mostly wasted with curaga/protectga - should have replaced the heal with a summon - and Y'sh, with curaja and slowga r2.
First turn: slowed Leblanc, protectga, Boon, Zidane cast PP RW, Steiner hit Leblanc with Banish Strike to clear her NSMG and trigger Ormi's draw fire.
Second turn: slowed and blinded Ormi, hit Leblanc with LSx2 and FB. Both slows are critical; Leblanc's AoE dispel is the big threat, and Ormi's draw fire can throw off timing killing Leblanc... And both cast based on the number of turns Leblanc and Ormi have taken.
Reslowed and rebanished Leblanc at 50%, then continued to hit Leblanc until dead. Used SBs when available. Leblanc's the only threat, the rest of the fight was just beating on Logos and then Ormi until they died. The one surprise was how much damage Ormi soaked. I was down to my last couple Dismissals when he keeled over. Orichalcum's AoE debuff/self-buff is GREAT, particularly when you don't have a native 50% boostga and the fight drags on.

Ok 20 minutes to go. Maybe someone can tell me how I can salvage my FFXIII playthrough. Which I started after pulling Peacemaker. I made it Gran Pulse, saved Hope's stupid butt, and now the game is no longer linear and is stupid hard. I feel like I finally have to dink the upgrade system which to me is the least appealing and most unfun thing in the game. The only way I can make it through battles is by customizing my paradigm deck before each one. And these are like random encounters we're talking. Way too tedious. What am I doing wrong?
Yeah, that is where the "real" game begins. There are a lot of encounters out on the open plains that you just won't be able to win, including some of the "marks" as well as the huge brontosaurus things whose name is escaping me. Don't feel bad about moving on to the next area, you can come back later.
You shouldn't need to customize your paradigm deck for every fight, but you should expect to change paradigms a lot each fight. You usually want to have these paradigms available:
Com/Com/Com (or Com/Com/Rav if you don't have three commandos on your team)
Com/Rav/Rav
Com/Rav/Rav (yes, again)
the other slots can vary based on who you have in your team and what you're doing. If you have a strong Sab on the team, Com/Rav/Sab can fill in for one of the Com/Rav/Ravs. If you find that you can't just beat stuff down with basic Com/Rav spam, you will probably want to start fights in something like Syn/Syn/Sab to buff/debuff before you start in on the beating, for instance. For boss fights, you will want something like Sen/Med/Syn or Sen/Med/Sab to block and recover when you're in bad shape. For post-endgame stuff, having Sen/Sen/Sen available is a must to not die to telegraphed huge AOE attacks.
The equipment upgrade system is stupid and sucks. Fortunately you don't really need to figure it out unless you want to do post-endgame stuff. You can look up a calculator online to show you how to optimize upgrades, or you can just fuddle through. The basic idea is you want to use "organic" components to get your items up to a x3 multiplier, then a huge stack of "inorganic" components all at once to get a bunch of xp with the multiplier. If you do single components at a time, it's very inefficient.
edit: Bupkiss on first 11 pull though
edit2: generic ninja suit on second 11 pull
edit3: 3rd 11 pull got me Nu Khai Armband, Chameeon Robe, and Spellbinder

Hmm good to know. I'll try out your paradigm suggestions and just skip to the next area instead of trying to run these missions. I feel like I can't beat them without using one of those *****sol things. I barely managed the 2nd one after 5 tries. Also these behemoths are dicks.

Don't feel bad about using your sols for hard fights. They're your megalixirs, don't horde 'em!
Yeah, you probably want to skip behemoths for now, although there's one notable fight near the exit to the area with a behemoth and something else fighting each other which you may be able to win, that's a decent spot to grind.
First 11 roll: four 5* things, no SBs
Second 11 roll: Grand Armor. Medica get!

Oh jeez. Oh JEEZ.
100 gem: 4*
1st 50: 0/11. Not the best start.
2nd 50:
SCORE! But!..as I said, I was after the shield
3rd 50: 0/11. Dammit!
4th *mumblemumble*: 5/11!!! (that was so hype the app crashed before I could screenshot) Off banner XII armor. Chameleon Robe. White Staff. Grand Armor!! DEFENDER!!!
I still want the shield...but I absolutely cannot justify even another 3-pull on the banner.
4 50 mythril and a 100 gem pull. Got Platinum Sword and a Zantetsuken on the last pull. Got a black veil, a Gaia Vest, and a Spellbinder Dagger on the other 3 pulls. That's 3 non banner 5 stars, the generic dagger, and the SSB for Ramza. Still have 150 mythril and not sure whether to pull for the medica and Agrias stuff or not.
100 gem: 4* Red Jacket VI
1st 50 mithril: 2x Kaiser Shield, Spellbinder, four 4* items (most of which combine with stuff I have, nice)
2nd 50 mithril: Nu Khai Armband, two boring 4*s
Need to think about whether I should keep chasing.

2nd 11-pull: Two white staves. Fuck, there's that trolling.
3rd: Off banner Gold Bangle. Not liking this trajectory.
And I'm in the same boat as a few others here. That's 3 of my total 8 pulls I can do. Debating to go for glory and and Kaiser plate. Even if I struck completely out, I'd be damned happy.
