What Cable do I Need to Connect My Tablet to a TV

I have a Surface Pro 3. I travel a lot and would like to connect it to my various hotel room TVs. Presumably via HDMI. Web browsing gives me a bunch of options but doesn't tell me what works. What do I need to, via a cable, connect my tablet to a television?

    tl;dr version is that for a TV you're gonna need this and a HDMI cable.

    FYI, lots of hotels disable the HDMI inputs to their TVs. You should look up the common ways to get around this before your first trip with the display port -> hdmi adapter.
